Middle Class Warfare…

As this election year drags on the President seems more and more comfortable in his class warfare role.

President Obama:Being part of the middle class is not just about income, it’s about knowing what’s important, and not measuring your success just based on your bank account. It’s about your values and being responsible and looking after each other and giving back.”

Now one can look quickly at this and say, “Yeah, that’s right”. Actually however, it is the bait and switch tactic (argument) used by Progressives with alarming frequency. Change the subject and play on the emotions of those most affected so they may forget your policies have devastated their children’s future. Erase the ambitions and efforts of those who seek to achieve greater success by making them feel guilty about that success. And pigeon hole those in poverty to think their aspirations of achieving “middle class” are simply out of reach without massive government “intervention”.  I don’t believe I’ve ever heard a more cynical and elitist view of the middle class engine which drives our nation as this. President Barack Obama has erased any doubt in my mind as to his true political motivations and ideological belief system. He does not understand our country and he does not understand “We the People”.

As for Biden’s recent comments about “the so called job creators” vs. the middle class, the fact he doesn’t realize they are one in the same tells us all we need know about the VP, (ignorant).

Mr. President, I am not fooled. American values were born of hard work, entrepreneurism, and a desire to make a “better” way for our posterity. That motivation is what has made this the greatest nation on earth. Your attempts to separate and call into question the “faith, hope and charity” naturally associated with the resulting successes, is now bordering on pathetic. Frankly, as a God fearing and hardworking middle class American, I am insulted. The closer we come to the election, the more I see my President as a resentful demagogue interested only in the “greatness” of his ideological plan and personal legacy, and not at all in the best way forward for his country. Elections truly do have consequences and we are seeing them unfold before our very eyes.

The politics of immigration…

In an election year everything is fair game, though how a candidate frames the argument is often the deciding factor as to whether or not it helps their cause. There is something to be said about the fact that President Obama stole a bit of Senator Rubio’s thunder with his recent executive order concerning children of illegal’s, and how it will eventually play into Governor Romney’s stance on the border. I myself have written at length about my own conflicts when debating immigration, and executive orders for that matter. There are also questions about how difficult it will be down the road to enact comprehensive immigration reform now that the POTUS has jumped the political gun.

Ultimately for me, it came down to the President’s own words and mannerisms during his little impromptu in the Rose Garden. Now I know many will flood my email box with hate mail about how I just don’t like Mr. Obama, and how I’m a racist Republican hack. But the truth is, the President is his own worst enemy when off the cuff. I’m not going to go back and forth on this except to print a post from my Facebook account in response to a local radio personality’s post on the POTUS’s order, which for good or bad sums it up:

Matt Allen WPRO 630 AM, Rhode Island:

Matt, President Obama is revered as a great orator by many on the Left. In fact, he is an unapologetic and idealistic politician of the first order. Born of Chicago politics, condescending and elitist when challenged, and off balance when not reading from script. Appropriately, “We the People” have the extraordinary and unique power to fire him in November, but will we? This election is not about The President or Governor Romney so much as it is about us Matt… I suspect it has always been that way… Enough said…

Going political “dutch”…

"That better be a debit card".

If Republicans chewed and screwed, the Democrats certainly didn’t show up to pay the bill. They held up the joint and cleaned out the register. I mean, is this President auditioning for a Saturday Night Live gig after politics? These corny one liners are really getting tedious considering all the real life drama unfolding around our nation. I guess when you “got nutin”, you go comic…

Anyway, the POTUS is so far off base as usual, he is sure to get caught stealing. (No pun intended.) The facts though, as reported by CBS no less, show Obama has already outspent Bush’s entire eight years in office and his policies are projected to have us well beyond $20 (T)rillion in the red by 2016. The price of a gallon of gas has doubled and many feel it is the new norm. Unemployment is realistically 9.2% and American wealth has diminished a staggering 40% while the median household income is down almost 8% since 2007. The housing market is on life support and corporations are hording cash for a “double dip” they know is coming. And as if these numbers aren’t sobering enough, what is the President of the United States talking about, the “unfunded” prescription drug program of (2003). For God’s sake and by their own admission, Democrats would have overwhelmingly supported that bill had there been more government and less private sector in the final draft. Ultimately they had been begging for expanding it in one form or the other since the early 1970’s. Let’s face it, when has any “Democrat” initiative ever been “funded”? Come on Mr. President, is that all you’ve got???

Fact – This President has promised more and delivered less, (with a two house mandate through his first election cycle) than any POTUS in recent memory. And he has done so by burdening our posterity with additional debt they will never be able to pay.

Look, I’m not here to tell you, that for fear of being attacked as ogres and granny killers, Repubs haven’t signed onto a lot of unreasonable and frankly unconstitutional entitlement crap over the years just to keep from getting booted from office. What I’m saying, is that common sense tells us in our own daily budgeting that we cannot continue to spend when carrying this kind of unconscionable debt. President Barack Obama had better own up, tell the truth, and kick the “bash Bush” habit quickly, or he may just wind up an ugly foot note rather than a debatable albeit ideological chapter in American History.

“Furry” Math…

“Federal spending since I took office has risen at the slowest pace of any president in almost 60 years,” OMG! Talk about your whopper.

I suppose if you have a fiscal record such as this Administration, it would make sense to take a few liberties with the reporting mechanisms to “wash” it. Leaving out a bunch of stuff regarding his input for the 2009 budget, including the $800 billion dollar “stimulus” package, taking credit for $150 million dollars in payments against the original TARP money, and leaving out (entire months) when calculating the figures, are just a few of the extraordinarily misleading  avenues President Obama and company have traveled to arrive at his claim. A much more accurate assessment of the real stats shows a 13% budget increase for 2010/11 and a close to 3% overall growth in spending for the same period, putting the POTUS squarely in the opposite column from the one he purports to be in. It appears there’s no limit to the lengths this crew will go to hold on to that Oval Office.

Traditionally, it is understood (and accepted) that politicians may take a few liberties with the numbers from time to time to make their points, but this is about as off the mark and frankly sinister as I’ve seen. Manipulation doesn’t even touch it. They are counting on the notion that “We the People” neither understand nor do we care about the truth.

If I were advising the Obamabots, I would caution them against taking the American People for granted when money woes are the very things which compel them at the present time. My nine-year old can do the math on this one Mr. President, and your figures are more than “fuzzy”…

Faculty Lounge Mentality…

I have been sitting on this post for a bit now, but the onset of the election cycle has coaxed me to go with it. For good or bad, I am always at least a little sensitive to the response I get when I write about the President, primarily because many of my Liberal friends and readers are so damn smitten with Mr. Obama. Truth is, for some of those hard core folks the magic remains despite the results.

Recently however, the idea of finally vetting this man who was elected to the most powerful office in all the world, has gained some momentum. I’d have to say that the ridiculous attack on Mitt Romney for something he did in high school certainly spurred some Right Wing PAC’s to go on the offensive in a way they didn’t in 2008 for fear of charges of racism by the “main stream” media. In any event, I’m glad this stuff is finally coming to the table. (And for those complaining about the fat cat money issue, I would direct you to George Clooney’s house. Please stop bitchin about corporate America. It’s just silly, counterproductive and sounds so vindictive. If all those so-called 1%-er’s closed their doors tomorrow, the POTUS would lose the election because he couldn’t raise enough money, you’d be lookin for work, and life as you know it would end, period!)

Anyway, with all due respect to Hannity and company I have been talking about the President’s ideological past for years. I’ve said on many occasions that one only need read “Dreams from My Father” to see the man’s heart. Now while I’m not going to go after the POTUS for bullying some young female admirer on the schoolyard, or lambast him for his candid admission to heavy drug and alcohol use as a young man, (to include numerous driving experiences with a “head clouded with Gin”), I will however take note of his many references to race, class envy and divisive, stereotypical propaganda. From his early days, through his interactions with the literary agencies that would publish his books (and misidentify his place of birth), to his time as the President of the Harvard Law Review, this was, and I believe remains a man firmly entrenched in the ideas of Socialist politics, societal division and class warfare as a means to even what he sees as an uneven playing field.

Election 2012 is certain to be about more than simply Barack Obama, as some have suggested it might be. The mere fact he was elected without the “main stream” press ever having brought any of this to light is proof positive that any cleverly packaged academic, cultivated and sheltered in the petri dish that is American higher education today and protected by a complicit press devoid of any moral responsibility to the people they report to, can be and in this case was elected to the Presidency of The United States. With that said, and all or at least most of the cards sure to be on the table this time around, the real question regarding our nations future will be out there for “We the People” to ponder, and on the first Tuesday in November, to answer…

Starbucks Politics…

I can be overly analytical at times, but in this day of poll driven politics, one must look beyond the sound bite to get to the truth. Accordingly, if we look at some of the polling numbers today, we see the divisive social issues President Obama and team are using to divert attention away from the economy and jobs don’t seem to be working. I think it’s also true however, that an issue like “gay marriage” is sure to gin up the base of both sides regardless. But it’s the “Independent” vote that will win the day in November.

Now I have written much about the 2008 Election and how Barack Obama was able to use a clever package, complete with a nostalgic albeit misguided component of 1960’s style “hope and change”, to coax a “politically correct” Independent block into voting for an arguably questionable candidate. The problem is the shine is off that plastic apple and reality is knocking hard at the door of the very same voter this time around.

It should be noted there is still plenty of time before the election and the Democrats have only just begun to engage their politically destructive machine, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and make a prediction. I believe the majority of so called independent thinkers who had cast their votes for Obama in 2008, have now seen the reality of his vision and will run from it as if it were a contagious cancer. Curiously however, they may yet espouse their politically correct notions on everything from gay marriage to global warming to their elitist friends at the local Starbucks. But on that fateful Tuesday when it matters to their posterity as well as the nation they leave behind, they will cast their vote for Mitt Romney.

I am beginning to see this election in a very different light, and the POTUS is helping me do that…

And not to be outdone, the Governor of Rhode Island (Lincoln Chafee) embarrassed himself beyond even his pathetic approval ratings and jumped on the gay marriage train as well… http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/05/gov-chafee-rene.html

Romney – Rubio 2012!!!

Chris Wallace is the consummate journalist and asks the hard questions. Rarely is he boxed in by one of his guests. That was not the case today on FOX News Sunday when the straight forward Wallace hosted Marco Rubio (R) Florida on his program. To his credit Wallace did not mince words as the competition often does so they may elicit a particular ideological slant, but rather he sparred with Rubio on everything from gay rights to the Vice Presidential rumor mill, and the results left me little if any doubt about the answer to the VP question.

Rubio is an engaging and articulate family man and politician. He is bright beyond his years and frankly sounded more like a VP than the VP himself. He has wowed all corners of the Washington talk circuit and done his homework on foreign policy, while continuing to engage the Senate on matters concerning his constituency. He is not afraid to drive a reporter’s line of questioning and turn it in the direction “he” feels it should go, but does so with the respect and politeness of a man who has obviously been properly raised. I was impressed with his candor and grasp of the issues, particularly when Wallace pressed him on the question of the “Hispanic vote”, and whether or not Romney can win without improving his current standing in that demographic. Rubio explained that to perceive or assume the “Hispanic vote” is centralized in some way, or predisposed to a particular “carrot” or message, would be a mistake on the part of any party. He went on to remind Wallace of the diversity within that vote and how Romney has only just begun to make his case.

At the end of the interview Rubio explained, in the most impressive and understandable way I have heard yet, the case for school and service visa’s for young people who are in this country illegally through no fault of their own. He emphasized that the incomplete legislation he is considering would not be amnesty, but rather would require those same young people in college or the Armed Services, to eventually take the path to citizenship as currently outlined by federal law without exception. He made his case with the passion of a true and focused representative of the American people, not someone pandering with the intent to divide, (like maybe the POTUS?)

I’ve been considering the many VP choices Mitt Romney has for some time now, and have  arrived at the following conclusion. While anyone would be an improvement over the current vernacularly challenged Joe Biden, Marco Rubio would not only be a fine choice for VP, but an extraordinary one at that. (Romney – Rubio 2012)

Punch Line…

President Obama kicked off his campaign on familiar ground today, a university campus. His strategists are certainly advising him well to seek safe haven among the young, inexperienced and easily manipulated sheep who flocked to his 2008 adventure. Help from Moderates will be much harder to garner this time around however. Many who may still be inclined to voice their support for the President in a Starbucks Wi-Fi Hot Spot, are far less likely to shade in the line next to his name behind a voting booth curtain in November.

Make no mistake though, the Progressive Left will be at the Polls in force to cast their votes for the man who brought their Socialist causes to the mainstream under the disguise of “hope and change”. But for those who saw Mr. Obama’s election as vindication of their 1960’s feel good ideology, and who are now finding it difficult to reconcile Utopia against the reality of mortgages, retirement, healthcare and the price of gas, “hope and change” has been relegated to the trash heap of history like so many campaign punch lines of old.

The mantra today was, “we have come too far to turn back now“. Well Mr. President, with all due respect, turning back now is our only “hope”…

“Occupy” your mind with facts…

Mitt Romney was speaking as a guest of former NY City Mayor Rudy Giuliani at a city fire station today, to honor the memory of 11 first responders from that dispatch who lost their lives on 9/11. While he was speaking, a female heckler began shouting “Mitt Romney you’re a racist” (laced with numerous “F” bombs), repeatedly and before apparently being led away by police. Now while I feel I understand the First Amendment and what it represents, and while I thought Governor Romney was gracious and polite in not engaging the disrespectful heckler, the moment did make me reflect a bit. It made me realize how in some cases it falls to “We the Pundits” to try and clarify in some cases what is actually “free speech” and what is anarchist psychobabble intended only to disrupt and disenfranchise anyone not in line with the particular message of the purveyor. In this case, it sounded like a young and ignorant “occupier”, incapable of any legitimate or intellectual exchange, and devoid of enough life’s experience to render her thought process at that moment, foolish at best. Moreover and unfortunately, she and her cohorts have chosen a day which marks the celebration of a failed ideology responsible for the enslavement and murder of millions of innocents, to make their case for the so-called 1%. Typical… We are truly living in pivotal times.

Let the record show…

I think it’s pretty obvious Team Obama won’t run on their record in 2012. Let’s face it, the “real” numbers, and dramatically low standards this Administration has put forth as evidence of recovery, don’t exactly spell slam dunk re-election for Barack Obama. Moreover, if you believe the polls, this President has succeeded in at least one area, and that is ensuring our nation will be divided and polarized like never before on Election Day.

Let’s have a look at some facts.

The crushing national debt threatens our children’s future in ways we cannot even fathom as yet. The “student loan debt bomb” will certainly explode sooner rather than later regardless of any Election Year Band-Aid the POTUS proposes and/or applies. The chain of collapse for Medicare and Medicaid, which will culminate with the complete and total failure of Social Security by 2033, is downright frightening. It takes 3 working stiffs to support 1 Social Security beneficiary, who on average will collect for more than 20 years with 25% of seniors living to age 90. American States, cities and towns are on the verge of bankruptcy, pummeled by an elitist and unrealistic union hierarchy bent on taking their membership over the edge. The true picture of unemployment, home prices and foreclosures are dirty little secrets most Obama sycophants choose to ignore. Some others might be that the federal government spent over a Trillion dollars on entitlements last year and reported some of the highest levels of food stamp and related assistance in U.S. history. To put this in perspective, one must understand that (feel good and so-called “means tested” entitlement spending) in this country, has risen by an unbelievable 5500% since 1975, (not a typo). Nearly 150 million Americans are currently receiving some sort of government assistance today. Consequently, anyone who says we are not on the fast track to a European style economic “Slip and Slide”, is simply not in touch with reality, or worse yet actually wants such a future for America.

Now for all of you “it’s all the other guys fault” folks, I have never suggested this is entirely the fault of President Obama alone. To the contrary, the problem has roots dating back to the 1930’s. However, I do liken his approach to “fixing” it, (not his motivations which I believe are even more ideologically driven than I originally thought) to putting a gallon of gas in a jetliner, Boston to LA. Look, the facts are simple and daunting. America will fail if we don’t take action to change course. It is clear this President has a plan that is not working, at least not in a way discernible or identifiable by any cognizant and realistic citizen.

So as I cast my ballot for Mitt Romney in the Rhode Island Republican Primary today, I have this to say to my Liberal friends. I was not sleeping when Barack Obama ran for President in 2008. I listened closely and heard everything he had to say. I paid attention when he was speaking from the teleprompter and off the cuff, and I for one have no illusions about his abilities, stated intentions, motivations and vision for our country. For this reason I will take to the keyboard as often as I can and try my level best to make Americans think very carefully about their vote in 2012. Much is at stake…
