Major league hypocrisy…

When George Stephanopoulos led Brian Ross into the whole Tea Party connection to the Aurora shooter, my initial reaction was one of nonchalance. We’ve heard this all before. We know Stephanopoulos is political hack from way back, and in spite of Ross’s journalistic credentials, he too is a flaming Lefty. So why then am I so irritated?

I think it’s more having to do with the stark contrasts between Tea Party folks and Occupy folks, along with the hypocrisy of some in the media when reporting about them. On the one hand you have a group of people who espouse smaller government, fiscal accountability on the part of their representatives, and who for all intents and purposes generally stay away from social issues. To be quite candid, Tea Party types do tend to be more Conservative in their respective views on things like gun control and religion. Having said that, what about the Occupy folks?

Violence, rape and even murder at their rally’s, which are permeated by calls for anarchy, and hate speech so vile and inappropriate, I simply won’t re-print it here. Oh, and did I mention the millions of dollars in vandalism to include participants defecating on police patrol vehicles.

Now I ask you, if you were to somehow make a connection between the Colorado shooter and a political organization, which one of the above would you choose.

Ultimately, it was a foolish play for which ABC ended up having to apologize. This tragedy will likely end up being the case of a deranged killer, with loyalties only to his own selfish and twisted world, who murdered those innocent movie-goers in cold blood, and who should receive a death sentence himself. It is just shameful though, that the “Lamestream Media” would politicize an event like this in such cowardly and cheap fashion. Shame…

Bad people do bad things…

Normally I would not jump so quickly to comment on a news story, but Aurora is already crumbling under the weight of a media circus as the networks scramble to find a phone booth.

Appropriately however, we must first step back and remember the lost and pray with vigor for those left to bear an unimaginable burden of grief. It is being reported that very young children have lost their lives, and this is certain to wrench the hearts of all Americans. With that said, My thoughts go immediately to what I believe is the desensitizing of life in our American culture. From the battles over when it begins, to the plethora of ultra-violent and graphic “movies” and video games which depict the wanton taking of it, many of our young people no longer seem to value the gift that is this life.

Sadly, this will most likely be overshadowed by the coming tide of political sentiment having to do with the gun control debate singular. Many a political hack with the intent to subvert the United States Constitution will rise up once again and sight this horrific incident as another reason for draconian, irresponsible and ineffective gun control laws. This is always accompanied by a blatant disregard for the truth or real solutions and usually flies directly in the face of any reason and/or facts. Nonetheless, the victims and their families will be misrepresented and exploited by fools like Mike Bloomberg, who care far less for anyones immeasurable loss than for their own selfish and malicious causes.

Gutter Chicago Politics…

The more this President speaks on the campaign trail, the more we have a glimpse into who he really is. From the mouth of a true elitist and a man who does not understand America, here is “the story“.

“. . .There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there…”

What an unbelievable, and wholly uneducated insult…

You have just read the ramblings of a politician in crisis mode. A person whose ideology is failing him and who refuses to admit it. Barack Obama is inexperienced in all facets of life necessary to be a responsible President for “all Americans”, and he is lost in the backwash of his divisive politics. For Mitt Romney’s part, he only need find his own energy and convey his policy specifics. If he can do this, he will trounce this Chicago upstart in November.

No apology needed???

Well we knew it was gonna be a rough campaign. And we knew the Obama attack machine would play a big role. But it’s getting nasty even earlier than I thought it would. The question I have is, can Mitt get below the curb with this crew? let’s have a look at the latest crap coming out of the cesspool.

So Mitt Romney leaves Bain Capital in 1999 and runs off to the 2002 Olympics to make history. He has no dealings with, nor is he in the loop with regard to a single business decision the company is making during that time. (Note: To date there is not a single document or representative piece of paperwork other than a leave of absence with his name on it during the time in question. However if this changes, so might opinion of the Governor.) Not only is this documented, but it is also one of the most publicized departures in American business history because of his destination and all of the success he had when he arrived in Salt Lake. Additionally, and as is the case with most larger corporations, the timing of “Securities and Exchange Commission” filings in relation to the actual written transition of power are sometimes far from perfectly aligned. For the most part this is done on purpose to (avoid) confusion between the departure and arrival of leadership, as well as assign any responsibility having to do with their respective terms of service. In this case, it is obvious that Romney was long gone, and any concerns the “concerned” Obama team may have about decisions made during that time are political in nature to put it mildly. However, to frame it in terms of a “felony” in order to exact maximum drama, is downright misleading and certainly less than honorable. Nonetheless, it doesn’t surprise me with this bunch.

The next whopper is the T.V. spot highlighting how Governor Romney paid only 15 percent in income tax against approximately $40 million he made last year, drawing the comparison to middle class folks who might be paying a higher rate. Ok, let’s start with the obvious. Three words, and I must let you do your own homework on this. (Effective Tax Rate). Because if you don’t know what you’re actually paying in taxes Mr./Mrs. Middle class, then shame on you and we shouldn’t even be having this conversation. Additionally, one of the reasons he paid at the 15 percent rate is because of the millions he gave away which also reduced his burden a good chunk. Oh, and if anyone thinks an eventual $6+million dollar tax payment is too little, then you do not understand the fundamentals of our economic system, which makes you part of the problem. This is why I say you must all read the “numbers within the numbers”, and not be buffaloed by the Obama class warfare and propaganda machine. Know the truth before you vote, or this election will be an exercise in “divide and deceive” as opposed to any “hope and change”…

Penance and Progress…

As infuriating as it is to hear the country’s sworn Attorney General make the case that requiring an individual to prove he/she is a citizen before voting is akin to the poll taxes of the post slavery era, I must account for the fact this man is obviously a disingenuous and despicable politician and not a true lawman. Having said that, I happened to catch Mitt Romney today addressing the same group of NAACP hypocrites Holder addressed just days before. I was pleased during the beginning of the speech as Romney made a very heartfelt appeal to the crowd to see what was in his heart and not be duped by the Obama class warfare rhetoric. Then things got ugly. As Romney started speaking about common sense, sound fiscal policy and fairness as means to address huge disparities in unemployment numbers for African-Americans, he was met by groans and at some point outright jeers. Later, when he spoke of rolling back Obamacare for a more sensible and realistic approach that wouldn’t bankrupt the country for all Americans, the audience flat-out booed him.

Well, as I have said before and will say for the record today, there are many within the minority caucuses and causes who are content to have race be a factor for the foreseeable future and beyond. I cannot imagine what would have happened, and how the “Lame Street Media” would have lamented had the POTUS been booed in a venue of predominantly white people. This is the height of hypocrisy and speaks to much of what is wrong in America today. There is simply no interest on the part of the Left in solving the “problems” of minority communities, only exasperating the theme of division and bigotry. And what happened to Mitt Romney today is proof positive of that.

I absolutely applaud Candidate Romney for going into the lion’s den. Sadly though, and for the same old reasons, it was an extraordinary waste of time and effort. What a disgraceful moment in our nation’s history. I am truly embarrassed this day for the country which has done more in far less time than any other to address the issues of human rights across the board. I guess the NAACP and the likes of Benjamin Jealous, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Louis Farrakhan will decide when and if we will ever be free of our sins, or receive credit for penance and progress…

Soldier Snack Pack – Jack Bellew…

I admit I can become engrossed in the political gamesmanship that permeates the 24 news cycle. There is very little good to grab hold of, or that gets your attention in a good way these days. But every so often something comes along that stops me in my tracks.

It seems when 6-year-old Jack Bellew stopped eating his snacks during his lunch at Ada Givens Elementary School, his concerned mother got to wondering why her red-blooded American boy was opting out of what most his age consider the best part of the day besides recess. Well it turns out he was saving them for his cousin, Army Ranger Matt Maddox who was serving overseas. This is heartwarming to me as I have raised my boy to be ever mindful of the sacrifices made daily on his behalf by American Soldiers here and abroad. And I remember the genuine concern which comes so easily to the heart of a child.

Anyway, Jack has turned his ambitions into reality and expanded his good will to all soldiers. He has marched in Veterans Day parades to support the Blue Star Mothers and helped pack hundreds of care packages for the troops. And he has sold snowman ornaments dressed in fatigues to support his own snack packs to our soldiers. Jack has some personal favorites he likes to send to include Slim Jims, popcorn, honey-roasted peanuts and bubble gum.

To date the now 9-year-old “soldier to be” has sent out more than 3000 snack packs to service folks fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq. He is a true inspiration and I hope this post inspires “you” to join with Jack in recognizing those who go in harm’s way in our stead. July 4th, 1776 – 2012…

With all the political hullabaloo over healthcare, immigration and the like, I’m content to be a bit reflective this “Independence Day”. I am also quick to remind my readers this time of year that we are for all intents and purposes, a young nation. Nonetheless, The United States of America has changed the world for the better like no other before it. Having read and written thousands of pages in print and on-line over the years in my quest to communicate what I believe is this nation’s best destiny to whomever would listen, I keep coming back to the same diagnosis for what is ailing “We the People”. We appear to be suffering from “generational degradation”, born of selfishness, complacency and a lack of real understanding of this country and its founding. Please let me explain.

Removed from the sacrifices of WW II and Korea, and born to parents determined to shield them from the horrors of their own lives by any and all means of pampering, there are those of the “boomer generation” who would take our nations imperfections and manipulate them into decades of ideological hatred and class warfare. Subsequently over time, the cause of “liberty for all” has been hijacked and smeared by those unwilling or simply unable to process the fact of its God-given origins. Idealistic politicians with a societal axe to grind, drive wedges and “categorize” Americans in order to foster a sense of entitlement and resentment, as they posture for political power and a platform to change what wasn’t meant to be changed. So called minority or (community) leaders coerce the young and the impressionable with the (have and have not) argument so they may cement their status and reap their own financial rewards, all while leaving their target audience with no hope and no direction. And many Americans increasingly sit on their hands (some even willingly), as their children are spoon fed a steady diet of anti-Americanism and revisionist history in our public school system and on into higher education. The loud and angry voice of a smaller but focused opposition is drowning out truth and reason, and the principles on which this great nation was founded are passing into history. We are becoming that which we separated from in 1776.

I know this must sound like a rather bleak assessment of our national status, and I apologize if I can no longer sugarcoat reality with fancy words and non-confrontational tactics. I believe we are beyond that approach. And while this is not a blanket synopsis, the facts are these. The enemies of freedom cannot win in the arena of ideas. Therefore they are in many ways content to fan the flames of discontent with lies and distortions so we may die slowly from within from a thousand knife wounds. For our part, we are not doing our collective homework and thus making it easy for the enemy. We are leaving the spiritual and cultural identity of “One nation under God” by the roadside, and molding our posterity to fit a world so many brave Patriots died to distinguish us from. A simple truth which addresses this is that there can be no God in the life of a Socialist. Personal responsibility and accountability for our actions are not tenets of a politically correct society, and to pursue a better way for you and your family is seen as not in line with the “fair shake” philosophy.

Hear me people of this great country. We have made our mistakes. On this we should have no illusion. But The United States has done more to advance the cause of humanity than any nation on earth. In our short time we have resolved to fight the fights un-fought by other nations from the beginning. And while there have been battle wounds and scars, we have won, and continue to win those battles today. Appropriately, it is only by the grace of God that we have enjoyed these successes, and by that same grace that we may go forward. “We the People” of this great nation are poised at the precipice of truth. The question on this “4th of July” 2012 is, do we fix what’s broken and hold fast to that which has provided our greatness, or do we accept the message of globalism and mediocrity for the sake of some unholy “new world order” that welcomes genocidal dictators into its ranks?

Teach your children of America’s true history and greatness. Explain to them that while no nation is perfect, they are truly blessed to live in this one. And send a message to those who mean to represent us, that we will not be stripped of that which the Declaration and the Constitution outlines and God guarantees us.

And to all who have worn the uniform of The United States Military and provided that we might celebrate 236, some at the cost of their own longevity, I am reflecting on you as well this 4th. Thank you and may God bless and keep you all…

Spin cycle…

The POTUS and Team Obama are scrambling to deflect criticism over and/or explain his claim the “Obama Care” mandate was not a tax. Well considering there are about 20 other taxes in the law, I’m not really sure where he’s going with that. The President’s hypocrisy has come full circle to outright misrepresentation of the facts as we know them. I think I have said this before but it bears repeating. In the age of modern media there has never been a POTUS caught on tape so many times in full contradiction mode, and yet he and his “lame street media” seem to just blow it off and move on. Now here’s the truly scary part.

The President of The United States and his Administration hold the people of this nation in utter contempt, and appear to be very comfortable in the notion that we simply don’t care. Well, do you???

Department of “Justice”???

“Contempt”- an act of disrespect that impedes the administration of justice. I have written enough on the fact that Eric Holder has been nothing short of negligent and possibly even complicit in the death of Agent Brian Terry. I have also written about how these types of things don’t happen without an “Administrators” blessing. Nonetheless, one only has to observe the Attorney General’s posturing and listen to his comments after the vote to understand he is certainly a contemptuous individual with little regard or respect for the family of the slain Border Agent.

While I was prepared to cut this loose if the AG provided what was asked of him, I am now convinced he was never equal to the title of our nation’s “Chief Law Enforcement Officer”. He should resign immediately or be fired by the President. Disgraceful…

It was a tax all along!!!

“This is not a tax”! How many times did we hear the POTUS and his Liberal Congress make that assertion? Actually, right up to the point when they had to actually argue the “Affordable” Care Act’s Constitutionality before the High Court, then the lawyers pulled out their trump (tax) card. For all intents and purposes it ended up being CJ Roberts who made the difference for the Obama Administration. Roberts makes the assertion, and I believe he is correct, that the mandate, (as an extension of Congressional power), is clearly unconstitutional (Commerce Clause). However, the Court asserts that Congress may level a tax to accomplish the same goal.

Translation: It was a tax all along and the Obama White House lied to the American people once again. This day will set the stage for the rest of the election year. I will have more to say when I read the entire decision, but it is now game on!
