End-run around Congress???
It should come as no surprise that funding for the “Affordable” Care Act simply doesn’t exist in real money. So notwithstanding what we know to be the Administrations true desire for a “single payer” system of healthcare, it now appears HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is strong-arming health care execs for cash ahead of the official 2014 roll-out of all the budget busting parts of “Obamacare”.
As we watch the IRS scandal unfold before our eyes, and we hear the likes of Eric Holder attempt to explain away lying to Congress and breaking the laws he’s supposed to enforce, and as the truth of Benghazi ebbs and flows like blood through the cracks of an al-Qaeda prison cell floor, this latest departure from ethical government leaves me to contemplate the words of our President back in 2009. “I will also hold myself as president to a new standard of openness …. Let me say it as simply as I can: Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.” – President Barack Obama

I ask the Left, as well as the media sycophants who unbelievably continue to turn a blind eye to the obvious, are you comfortable with this? Is this your idea of our children’s America? Is this your answer to the dreaded George Bush? Shame on you, all of you…
Indifference on a Presidential scale…
Listening to the same tired talking points from the POTUS yesterday was as it always is for me, nauseating. Not surprisingly, there was the all too familiar elitist condescension as his remarks dripped with disdain for his critics and political opponents. What was striking this time, was that even in the face of a legacy which will most certainly be bracketed by unprecedented acts of corruption and ideological warfare, the President of (our) United States seemed indifferent, unapologetic, and even arrogant. Nevertheless, his inexperience and non-negotiable style have cost the President in terms of how he is perceived here and abroad, and have handicapped this nation’s overall standing as well as the future potential of its posterity.
In his remarks I did not hear a President humbled by the raging scandals playing out on his watch. I did not hear a leader accepting a stitch of responsibility for the actions and tone of his Administration during these crises. I did not hear a man willing work with Congress for the betterment of “We the People” and/or to resolve the critical issues of our time, but rather I heard a headstrong ideologue anxious to press a bad position no matter the cost, and willing to re-write the pages of history as it happens to reflect his version, to change the truth if you will, in order to fit the narrative of a failed agenda.
Accountability, front and center please…
If Americans aren’t paying attention when their representatives speak in Washington, they should be. This is especially true for folks in California when Barbara Boxer opens her pie hole. May we finally resolve the issue of security funding for diplomatic missions, and more specifically the safety of the Benghazi Consulate as “considered” recently by the misguided Senator?
Firstly, I’m always curious when Liberals start talking about budget “cuts”, because frankly there’s no such thing in Washington! From 2008 -2012, increases to mission security budgets (including Benghazi) were over 90% of their proposed allowances. Subsequent negotiations in the House were routine, and likely regarding the size of proposed “increases” as possible cost saving measures going forward. Keep in mind, these types of “adjustments” are usually miniscule relative to the overall numbers, and according to folks on the ground in Tripoli, not a factor whatsoever concerning the safety of the Benghazi mission proper or any requests for additional security.
“Let me be clear” Senator Boxer. You’re just a liar…
The likely truth no one wants to talk about: The State Department was concerned the appearance of heightened security in the wake of the President’s proclamation that terrorism was all but defeated would be “problematic” during his re-election bid. Moreover, they were actively recruiting inexperienced locals to provide security in Libya to reinforce a notion of tranquility despite the CIA’s repeated warnings about the presence of al-Qaeda and of a possible attack on the consulate.
Simply put, what we’re hearing from the WH and others within the President’s front line defense, is a less than subtle attempt to cover up a bungled agenda which likely caused the deaths of four brave America’s caught in the middle.

It appears the Obama Presidency is unraveling with astonishing speed. That said, I’ve always felt the POTUS’s aversion to accountability and the Constitution would be his undoing. Ideologies aside though, many Americans are finally beginning to see the light in terms of what we expect from a Commander-in-Chief. I say this because whether or not he believes it himself, and for good or bad, the buck will eventually stop at Mr. Obama’s desk. It’s simply part of being President of the United States.
Nevertheless, it’s imperative all Americans understand where we are. When looked at collectively, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and now the troubling issue of secret subpoenas and wire-taps at the Associated Press speak to an alarming pattern of behavior which suggests a discernible tone of indifference from top to bottom in the Obama government, for the Constitutional rights of Americans on every level. Accordingly, if the Administration and those agencies under its direct supervision, as well as supporting and ideologically driven politicians like Rhode Island’s Junior Senator Sheldon Whitehouse are comfortable with the facts so far, then “We the People” should be concerned, very concerned.
My quick email to Senator Whitehouse:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Notwithstanding “so help me God”, as I’m sure you might have us do away with the phrase, what part of the above do you not understand Senator?
At a time when “We the People” of Rhode Island are looking to our elected officials for clarity of purpose and Constitutional integrity, we instead have you Sir, towing the party line and sounding like a mindless sycophant. Regrettably, it is understood politics in Washington has become a game of one-upmanship and ideological demagoguery on both sides of the aisle, devoid of true and thoughtful representation. That said, I think we are coming back to a period when folks may be demanding a little more than what you are providing Senator Whitehouse. Your allegiance to this President does not negate fact and reason, and may not be substituted for the above oath. Please, at the very least, try and consider who it is you serve.
Oh, and no return “campaign letter” is necessary in consideration of this correspondence.
“Stylistic” cover-up…
At this juncture, I think it’s reasonable to assume the White house and State Department conspired to manipulate CIA intelligence on Benghazi, so it would fit the 2012 Obama Campaign’s narrative of a diminished al-Qaeda threat on the President’s watch. Moving passed the obvious for a minute however, I think what’s getting lost in all this, is the CIA warned of a possibly coordinated terrorist attack on the consulate proper in the days and weeks prior to 9/11/2012, and the Obama Administration did nothing about it. Now let me save all of you “Barackapologists” a lot of hot air and tell you that any Congressional discussion of funding for additional security was just that, “discussion”, and had no direct impact regarding real-time safety considerations on the ground in Libya. (See Ambassador Pickering threat).
Having been vindicated once again by the truth, there is still something troubling me about this tragedy, and it is Hillary Clinton’s well publicized rant when pushed by Senator Johnson about the reason for the attack. When taken in the context of Deputy Chief of Mission Hicks’s treatment by the State Department after he decided to testify, and in consideration of State Department Spokesperson Victoria Nulands “specific objections” to the original CIA talking points draft which she felt “could be used by the political opposition”, one can only surmise this situation was at the very least bungled from beginning to end, and/or at the very worst, a reprehensible and possibly even criminal political cover-up. Regardless, the families of those brave souls who sacrificed all that night in a foreign land, deserve to know the truth.
No School Boy Jay Carney, it’s not old news…
Some of you may recall I predicted Benghazi would bring down the Obama Administration, and I stand by that prediction. The question however, is are we officially living in a climate where things like the murder of one of our ambassadors and three of his support staff simply don’t matter as much anymore. I think any reasonable person would agree, had this happened during Bush 43, impeachment hearings would have been well under way by now. Nevertheless, there are four dead Americans whose sacrifices we have yet to reconcile, and it’s becoming more apparent these real life instances are far more challenging than the elitist up-starts in the White House had figured on.
In the days and weeks ahead we will finally be hearing from those who were on the ground in real-time as it happened, and we will also watch Socialist politicians and the Obama propaganda press machine attempt to take them apart. For Republicans on the other hand, it will be a game of restraint so as not to look like a bunch of desperate sharks cruising a chum line. Inevitably however, it will fall to “We the People”, to decide what is acceptable in terms of how much the United States will tolerate to garner some perceived international acceptance and/or false accolades. Our President and his political sycophants apparently believe there is some sort of twisted trade-off to be had here. Disgraceful…
Above The Law…
Sometimes politics is frightening. As I watched Secretary of State Hillary Clinton answer questions about Benghazi on Capitol Hill yesterday, I was struck by the audacity and anger she displayed at having her version of events called into question. Even more alarming was the suggestion that the negligence and politics of the Obama Administration during that time is somehow no longer relevant. This speaks volumes for the indifference and disdain these folks have for our Constitution, as well as the governmental process necessary and vital to the survival of our Republic. Mrs. Clinton was clearly offended, and attempted to portray herself as a victim advocate, instead of a department head with critical responsibilities. Crocodile tears were flowing as she spoke of “greeting the flag draped caskets” of those lost when they arrived at Andrews AFB, and then disavowed any knowledge of the “talking points” she spoke when addressing the families that very day.
I would have to say that Clinton’s testimony was the most significant display of contempt on the part of a politician called to account that I have ever witnessed. When taken in the context of the President’s partisan and divisive Inaugural Address just a few days earlier, I think it’s fair to say this bunch feel they have been crowned, not elected, and are somehow above the law.
If it were I who were elected and charged with the responsibility to ensure governmental accountability, I would have stated the following in response to the Secretary’s “outburst” when pressed about why the American people were lied to.
“I understand you’re upset Madam Secretary, but please look into that camera and tell those folks you spoke so tearfully of earlier, that information regarding how their loved ones died doesn’t matter! I have nothing further Mr. Chairman…”
Benghazi footnote…
I’m quite sure I don’t understand the comparison being drawn between the unfortunate and tragic deaths of brave security contractors in an Iraqi war zone, to the attack on our consulate in Benghazi Libya, an area the Obama Administration had all but called stable and “operationally secure”. Frankly, the notion that a coordinated al-Qaeda terrorist attack on an embassy compound resulting in the murder of a United States Ambassador and his attaché as well as two CIA special operators coming to their rescue, is somehow to be seen in the same light as an operation in a combat area, put in play to augment and/or replace a stressed U.S. military presence on the ground providing logistical security in that area, just tells me the effort to make Ambassador Steven’s murder go away continues at the highest levels. It also tells me that the idea this would be swept under the rug with the re-election of Barack Obama as President was not altogether bluster by those who knew better. What will be sickening to watch however, is how the politicians who originally championed this for what it was, will now run for political cover to save their own place in the game instead of fighting for what they know is right.
Tragically, the truth may be lost forever. And those who either dropped the ball, or worse yet purposefully manipulated the situation on the ground in Libya so as to not jeopardize this Liberal President’s failed ideological vision for “peace in that region”, may very well never face justice or have to explain their reasoning to the families of those lost.
I must admit, I am not disheartened by the election results so much as I am the disintegration of any remaining honor and integrity at the highest levels of our government under this President. Though, I did expect it…
Main Stream Media AWOL, FOX to the rescue…
Once again it’s Ed Henry and Jonathon Hunt of FOX News who “dare” to ask the pertinent and tough questions of this President.
For the first time in eight months Mr. Obama took questions from the media in a press conference format. As expected, the usual suspects from the main stream press threw out the soft balls and allowed the POTUS to bloviate about how he’s going to “fix” our fiscal and immigration problems, all the while continuing to blame everyone but the WH Chef for those problems. And while the fiscal cliff and comprehensive immigration reform are certainly critical issues, I think everyone would agree the news of the day was the Petraeus scandal and Benghazi cover up.
Two things continue to stand out for me regarding this ever-growing nightmare, the first being what I see as a lack of outrage over the loss of one of our Ambassadors and three other American hero’s to a terrorist attack. This is made even more intolerable by the main stream press and their disgraceful behavior when it comes to uncovering the truth about the attack. The downright fawning over President Obama yesterday is something I have never witnessed, and it is sickening to watch. Secondly, it is just plain unacceptable that the “most powerful man in the world”, and the one who you would think should be able to answer a simple question like “what orders did you give to protect the American people”, basically has nothing to say.
I wrote recently that in my judgment, I felt Barack Obama was not suited nor qualified to do the job of the President, and that his ill-tempered and misguided response to this crisis in particular would be his undoing. I stand by that predication with one caveat, that being whether or not the pre-meditated and terrorist murder of four Americans in a foreign land means anything to America any longer…
My hat’s off today to Senator John McCain and others in Congress, and especially to Senator Lindsey Graham for his honest and forthright retort of the President after Mr. Obama’s “appearance” yesterday. We have reached those crossroads my fellow Americans, and it is going to take men of deep personal conviction, character and fortitude to pull us back from the clutches of cowardice and deceit. The families of those four brave souls who perished that horrible night back on “9/11”, deserve nothing short of the truth from the President of The United States.

Reality Check 2012…
Even I thought I would have more time to check the reality of this election. Wrong… Now that the Liberal/Progressives have cemented their place within the future framework of our country, it’s time to take stock of what that really means.
1. Moody’s has put the United States on notice that if a debt deal is not reached very soon they will downgrade our credit rating. They were also pointedly clear to the Fed, that any deal must not be a “kick the can down the road” application, but rather must contain “substantial and significant” measures, that would calm the fears of a watching world with regard to whether or not the U.S. will be a “worthy investment” moving forward. It is now painfully obvious that the simplistic and feel good “fair share” mentality, packaged and sold as the answer to our fiscal woes by this President and his supporters, will be nothing short of inadequate, and a shallow and fruitless approach to the goal of avoiding the fiscal chasm we face.
2. As anticipated, major corporations like Boeing are now preparing to cut staffing levels and work weeks, as well as substantially reduce their overhead (close area support operations), to offset the inevitable costs of “Obamacare”. The President’s signature law will, as predicted, result in skyrocketing healthcare costs to businesses large and small, and eventually diminish care for all Americans.
3. The Obama Administration, aided by a complacent and complicit main stream media, is now laying the foundation for a (major league) cover-up attempt surrounding the (bush league) handling of the Benghazi attack, which resulted in the murder of our Ambassador and three other American heroes. Moreover, the number of questions raised by the recent resignation of General David Patraeus only complicate the issue of any Administration transparency further. How this plays out over the next few months will be a significant measure as to where our nation is headed concerning the accountability of our elected officials. As of this moment, President Barack Obama’s Administration has set new and dangerous precedents along these lines, and appears to be re-writing our beloved Constitution.
As I watch all of this unfolding with lightning speed, and then add many of the pet causes of this now uninhibited ideological President, the words “elections have consequences” burn in my brain. I am also very curious to know how his supporters will react as the bottom ultimately falls away. Who will they blame? What solutions will they offer? Tax the rich some more? And what happens when they have no more to give?
For the first time in our history my fellow Americans, it is now indisputable fact that we will leave our children a lesser country than we inherited…
