A week for the history books…

The week ahead promises to be nothing short of dramatic in a political sense. So to kind of sum up, I will give you my take on some of the hot button issues.

I’ve been listening to Democrat pundits for the last two weeks try and explain away Eric Holder’s refusal to surrender certain documents to Congress regarding “Fast & Furious”. Now the obvious dilemma here is the Terry family is demanding answers to questions about their sons murder, and rightfully so. What I found interesting however, is the explanation by partisan Democrats that Republicans are simply grandstanding for political reasons, and that Holder has already turned over thousands of documents. In truth, the “documents” turned over were literally thousands of largely redacted and blacked out emails and papers which actually contained little or nothing about the shooting, who authorized it and at what level did the chain end. In that matter, the POTUS has now come to the rescue of his friend / AG and claimed “executive privilege”, apparently to prevent any incriminating disclosures. Ultimately, someone gave their “blessing” to the “gun walking” which was not part of the original operation, someone in a high office. And it was that gun walking that led to Agent Terry’s death. Sounds pretty simple doesn’t it? Well it is. Come clean Mr. Holder, and admit that something went very wrong in the Justice Department on your watch. Now a Border Agent’s family is left to ask why their Law Enforcement hero son was murdered on the border of his own country with weapons put in play by his own side. Release the documents or be held in contempt of Congress Sir. Next >

This is an easy one. Arizona reserves the right, Constitutionally and legally, to protect its border and uphold standing Federal Immigration Law if the feds themselves don’t do it. I believe the Supreme court will agree. Having said that, I concur with Senator Rubio in that I don’t believe Arizona should be the national model. The problems which exist there are exclusive to the region and therefore present LE officials with additional challenges for which they need appropriate “latitude”. Next >

And finally The “Affordable” Care Act. Arguably one of, if not the largest federal power grab in American history. An expensive, unsustainable and by every account, unworkable entitlement program that will bankrupt our children and ultimately destroy the greatest healthcare system known to mankind. It is my hope that the Supreme Court will strike it down as the Constitutional overreach it is. Regrettably, the President’s play to enact feel good portions of the law ahead of the full onslaught of its huge cost will make it difficult to transition to true comprehensive healthcare reform in the future. Moreover, Republicans and Democrats alike will seek to make political hay over the decision, and the truth will most likely be lost in the mix.

Anyway, have a good week people… 😉

Race Card…

Never was much of a Sam Donaldson fan. He has never really tried to hide the fact he is a Liberal masquerading as an objective journalist. I would not necessarily put him in the Bill Maher category of unintelligent misfit, but his motivations are obvious.

Nonetheless, I think that it does “We the People” a great disservice when someone as allegedly “mainstream” as Donaldson plays the race card. It implies that to disagree with the POTUS is to be a racist and nothing more. In addition, when CNN and some of the other ratings challenged cable networks jump on board, it just cheapens and diminishes our political process in the eyes of the world.

I am actually anticipating the great flood of criticism leveled against critics of the President when he is no longer President. It should be very interesting to listen to the “Obama Nation” explain away the mistakes and sheer inexperience of 44 by way of highlighting bigotry as the reason for his failures. More astonishingly, it never ceases to amaze me that so many forget or simply choose to ignore his biracial heritage. Inconvenient to the argument of “first black President” I would imagine… Chris Matthews is such an idiot…

Reliving a nightmare…

I think it’s fair to say, if you asked those who survived the Fort Hood massacre to describe that event, “war zone” would come to their collective thought. The location alone serves to remind us our soldiers face military threats here at home as well as abroad. Some were in uniform that day and some in civilian clothes preparing for oversees action, but all nonetheless engaged in activities related to the defense of our nation and the “war on terror”. So when the shooter, Major Nidal Malik Hasan screamed “allahu-akbar” and began indiscriminately shooting people in a processing center, there could be no doubt that the war had come home to Fort Hood.

So why then does our President deny “Purple Heart” combat medals to those involved opting instead to address the “incident” in the “broader scope of work place violence“???? Huh?????

Could it be because an admission of military foundation could jeopardize AG Holders ongoing attempts to locally criminalize enemy combatant (terrorist) related issues. This matter alone speaks volumes to the inexperience and/or lack of real understanding of DOD matters exhibited by this Administration. From the complacency on behalf of the military afforded Hasan for fear of being labeled politically incorrect, to the propensity of the Obama Administration overall to de-militarize what is clearly military in nature, one has to wonder who have we entrusted our children’s safety too.

So when I hear folks talking about the President’s foreign policy prowess, I think of things like this and wonder, does the carrying out of an order by the previous CIC, and a few on target drone strikes a foreign policy President make? I’m not so sure…

The politics of immigration…

In an election year everything is fair game, though how a candidate frames the argument is often the deciding factor as to whether or not it helps their cause. There is something to be said about the fact that President Obama stole a bit of Senator Rubio’s thunder with his recent executive order concerning children of illegal’s, and how it will eventually play into Governor Romney’s stance on the border. I myself have written at length about my own conflicts when debating immigration, and executive orders for that matter. There are also questions about how difficult it will be down the road to enact comprehensive immigration reform now that the POTUS has jumped the political gun.

Ultimately for me, it came down to the President’s own words and mannerisms during his little impromptu in the Rose Garden. Now I know many will flood my email box with hate mail about how I just don’t like Mr. Obama, and how I’m a racist Republican hack. But the truth is, the President is his own worst enemy when off the cuff. I’m not going to go back and forth on this except to print a post from my Facebook account in response to a local radio personality’s post on the POTUS’s order, which for good or bad sums it up:

Matt Allen WPRO 630 AM, Rhode Island:

Matt, President Obama is revered as a great orator by many on the Left. In fact, he is an unapologetic and idealistic politician of the first order. Born of Chicago politics, condescending and elitist when challenged, and off balance when not reading from script. Appropriately, “We the People” have the extraordinary and unique power to fire him in November, but will we? This election is not about The President or Governor Romney so much as it is about us Matt… I suspect it has always been that way… Enough said…

Cultural miscue…

Greta Hawkins, principal of PS 90 in NYC has decided that Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” will offend other cultures and is not age appropriate for a kindergarten “graduation”.

Really?

Okay … Notwithstanding the saturation of filth and family dysfunction our children are exposed to on a daily basis just by way of their closest television screen, video game or pocket device, or the fact that this so called principal is already on record as not being the most patriotic of educators, why then is Justin Bieber’s flirty song “Baby” deemed somehow appropriate for the same venue? I know the answer to this question, however I’m curious to know what you think?

Thankfully, the outrage over this monumentally ignorant decision by Miss Hawkins is coming from the many cultures she attempts to speak for. Ultimately, the majority of those who have emigrated to this country have not done so to re-establish their culture here, but rather to assimilate into and broaden the (United States culture) and make a better way for themselves and their families. You see, what many Progressives will never admit, is that “E Pluribus Unum” is what makes our nation great. A singular culture made stronger by the “integration” of facets of other cultures, and not by diluting the core principles of its founding. I would tell you that the answer to the question of “why are we so divided today” lies in conundrums such as this one. It all comes down to who “We the People” really are. The answer may be simpler than you think. But it will have far-reaching implications if we ignore what we know to be the truth and goodness of our freedom, in favor of the politically correct and less than honorable intentions of a vocal and well-funded Progressive cause.

Please contact NYC school officials and let them know what you think about Principal Hawkins!

The Unseen War…

When I send my little one off to school every day I must admit I do so with trepidation and doubt. I’m fully aware this is not the public school system I attended at his age. Frankly it has been overrun by the Leftists, and education has been largely replaced by indoctrination. Only a handful of teachers remain to stand against the tide of union financed apathy and mediocrity. All this I know, but still when I hear the individual who chastised the student for exercising his First Amendment right instead of celebrating that right, I am no less horrified.

These types of tirades by folks who clearly have no business teaching our posterity, are proof beyond the shadow of a doubt there is trouble in our schools. Be it a fundamental disconnect when it comes to our country, its Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights, or simply an ideological desire to suppress free speech and/or thought, these “teachers” are waging a war against America in classrooms from East to West and all the way through higher education. Parents must be vigilant like at no time in our nation’s history if we are to preserve our American culture and true history.

Just another battle to consider as we make our way toward this historic election.

Starbucks Politics…

I can be overly analytical at times, but in this day of poll driven politics, one must look beyond the sound bite to get to the truth. Accordingly, if we look at some of the polling numbers today, we see the divisive social issues President Obama and team are using to divert attention away from the economy and jobs don’t seem to be working. I think it’s also true however, that an issue like “gay marriage” is sure to gin up the base of both sides regardless. But it’s the “Independent” vote that will win the day in November.

Now I have written much about the 2008 Election and how Barack Obama was able to use a clever package, complete with a nostalgic albeit misguided component of 1960’s style “hope and change”, to coax a “politically correct” Independent block into voting for an arguably questionable candidate. The problem is the shine is off that plastic apple and reality is knocking hard at the door of the very same voter this time around.

It should be noted there is still plenty of time before the election and the Democrats have only just begun to engage their politically destructive machine, but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and make a prediction. I believe the majority of so called independent thinkers who had cast their votes for Obama in 2008, have now seen the reality of his vision and will run from it as if it were a contagious cancer. Curiously however, they may yet espouse their politically correct notions on everything from gay marriage to global warming to their elitist friends at the local Starbucks. But on that fateful Tuesday when it matters to their posterity as well as the nation they leave behind, they will cast their vote for Mitt Romney.

I am beginning to see this election in a very different light, and the POTUS is helping me do that…

And not to be outdone, the Governor of Rhode Island (Lincoln Chafee) embarrassed himself beyond even his pathetic approval ratings and jumped on the gay marriage train as well… http://news.providencejournal.com/breaking-news/2012/05/gov-chafee-rene.html

Flagging the Obama Camp 15 yards…

Bullying is not acceptable, and it is the responsibility of parents and teachers to monitor and identify when our young folks are acting irresponsibly. OK?

Raising the issue of an incident that occurred more than 50 years ago, and which has been disputed by several witnesses including members of the alleged victim’s family, is nothing but an attempt by the POTUS to divert attention away from his failed record. It must be increasingly clear to the President’s polling people that he will only win this election if he can successfully portray the 65-year-old Romney as some sort of elitist bully. Go figure, the Democrats will now run on their own pet “social issues” because they have nowhere else to go. This is the most politically pathetic stunt I have seen this early in an election, and it is indicative of what appears to be a very worried Obama camp.

I should qualify my thoughts by stating emphatically that I do not condone bullying in any way. All I’m saying is this is a separate discussion that has now become an issue, having been deliberately injected into the campaign by desperate Obamabots who see trouble ahead for the President concerning his time in office thus far. He cannot not run on his record and have any hope of enjoying the “magic” of 2008, so he definitely needs a new marketing strategy.

Message to the Romney camp: Do not misplay this and wind up descending into a disingenuous BS fest with folks who wrote the book on political hit jobs. Be apologetic and engaged, but be firm in your presentation of  “it’s the economy stupid“.

Message to the Obama camp: Look in the mirror…

Who is the real bully Mr. President?- http://hotair.com/archives/2012/04/27/the-list-obamas-campaign-attacking-private-citizens-again/

“Conviction” of late…

Does anyone really think the President or any of his sycophant cronies like Jack Reed of Rhode Island are “coming out” in support of gay marriage because of any deep felt conviction? Come on folks, the POTUS has been riding the fence on this issue for his entire Presidency thus far, and Jack Reed lost any conviction he may have had along with his conscience some time ago. This is nothing more than a political tactic, carefully vetted through the prisms of polling and focus groups. It was even a bit nauseating to hear President Obama invoke the sacrifice of Jesus Christ while discussing the issue on ABC. This from the man who immediately springs his ACLU umbrella every time someone even mentions the words church and state in the same sentence.

Now I am not an overly religious man, and I try very hard to keep my opinions on things like gay marriage and abortion rooted in cultural, historical and Constitutional context, because I don’t feel qualified otherwise. But nothing lights my fire more than a pandering politician trying to pass him/herself off as actually caring about an issue, when nothing could be further from the truth. Frankly, if I were in the marriage equality camp, I would be pretty damn offended it took Mr. Obama so long to “develop” his “conviction “on the matter. “Come on man”!!

Punch Line…

President Obama kicked off his campaign on familiar ground today, a university campus. His strategists are certainly advising him well to seek safe haven among the young, inexperienced and easily manipulated sheep who flocked to his 2008 adventure. Help from Moderates will be much harder to garner this time around however. Many who may still be inclined to voice their support for the President in a Starbucks Wi-Fi Hot Spot, are far less likely to shade in the line next to his name behind a voting booth curtain in November.

Make no mistake though, the Progressive Left will be at the Polls in force to cast their votes for the man who brought their Socialist causes to the mainstream under the disguise of “hope and change”. But for those who saw Mr. Obama’s election as vindication of their 1960’s feel good ideology, and who are now finding it difficult to reconcile Utopia against the reality of mortgages, retirement, healthcare and the price of gas, “hope and change” has been relegated to the trash heap of history like so many campaign punch lines of old.

The mantra today was, “we have come too far to turn back now“. Well Mr. President, with all due respect, turning back now is our only “hope”…
