Indifference on a Presidential scale…

Barack ObamaListening to the same tired talking points from the POTUS yesterday was as it always is for me, nauseating. Not surprisingly, there was the all too familiar elitist condescension as his remarks dripped with disdain for his critics and political opponents. What was striking this time, was that even in the face of a legacy which will most certainly be bracketed by unprecedented acts of corruption and ideological warfare, the President of (our) United States seemed indifferent, unapologetic, and even arrogant. Nevertheless, his inexperience and non-negotiable style have cost the President in terms of how he is perceived here and abroad, and have handicapped this nation’s overall standing as well as the future potential of its posterity.

In his remarks I did not hear a President humbled by the raging scandals playing out on his watch. I did not hear a leader accepting a stitch of responsibility for the actions and tone of his Administration during these crises. I did not hear a man willing work with Congress for the betterment of “We the People” and/or to resolve the critical issues of our time, but rather I heard a headstrong ideologue anxious to press a bad position no matter the cost, and willing to re-write the pages of history as it happens to reflect his version, to change the truth if you will, in order to fit the narrative of a failed agenda.

The Politics of Gun Control…

gun-control-posterWhen you ask the average American, “Are you in favor of background checks for people buying guns?”, the obvious answer will be yes. As with all “polls” however, when you adjust the question to reflect the hidden details, you get a different (and more educated) answer. My point is that the President’s assertions about American’s feelings on gun control are skewed and highly political to say the least. Moreover, how in the world can we have a logical discussion on making our children and our nation safer, when our ideological chief executive’s contribution is to exploit the parents of Sandy Hook by flying them around from sound-bite to sound-bite on Air force One.

If there is anyone out there who believes the President of the United States cares about anything other than positioning himself politically by attempting to demonize and divide the opposition, please remove your head from the partisan sand before you suffocate.

“This is not about me.” Really Mr. President? I think this is all about you.

“Obamaloney”!!! Yup…

It seems the POTUS has now resorted to adolescent name calling with his “Romney Hood” remark. And ya know what, kudos to Romney for firing back…

Enough is enough. It is simply unacceptable that we should always sit on our hands while the Libs wail away with this incessant and hypocritical BS. Regrettably, it’s time to make this the street fight the Left has been “beggin for”.

I think it’s fair to say that both sides realize this November is about far more than the two candidates competing to occupy the most powerful seat in the world. I know Mr. Obama does. His life to this point has been shaped in purely ideological terms, and he means to continue to exorcise that ideology upon “We the People”. More and more we hear him “coming out” with divisive rhetoric and laser focused sound bites, which clearly frame his belief system out in the open, probably more so than his handlers might have envisioned, or frankly wanted. He is right about one thing however, and that is Election 2012 is most certainly about what direction the country should go in. And some of the inevitable questions which come to mind as a result, are these.

Have we finally created an entitlement sub-culture, sufficient enough in size to change the foundational and societal norms of personal initiative based opportunity, which have made us the greatest nation in human history? Are there enough folks out there, so firmly entrenched in that “generational welfare” thing, that there is no hope of turning the tide? Have we sunken so low that a political campaign can literally accuse the others candidate of felony tax evasion and manslaughter, without so much as a stitch of corroborating evidence, and get a pass from the very same media charged with responsibly reporting the news objectively to the people? And are enough of us so complacent and devoid of historical and factual context, that this government of the people, by the people, for the people, should actually now perish from the earth?

If this is all true, then I would ask those who are confident and comfortable they have finally created this “Utopian dream world”, to call on the souls of every dead Soldier who gave his/her life to secure our posterity’s future, and explain to them how this looks anything like our forefathers United States… “Obamaloney” for sure!

“We the People” vs. “We the People”…

Reagan evoked the passion of “Americanism”…

When we look at the possible matchups for President it is striking, considering all the problems we are facing today, that the POTUS is still polling as “high” as he is. Mind you he’s still well below the magic 50% number and his negatives on things like handling the economy are growing, but it remains curious nonetheless. I would point out that Jimmy Carter was polling similarly against Ronald Reagan in 1980. That said, there is something very different going on in 2011.

It is not simply the notion that American politics should stop at the water’s edge, but more the troubling idea that a President is so compelled to highlight what “he” sees as American flaws when addressing our international counterparts. And it is not just about flying a flag or reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in our schools, but rather why the calculated effort to revise, re-write and/or simply erase an ideal, that while not without trial, has transformed humanity for the better and like no other in its short 235 year history. I would also say to my Reagan friends, it is not simply a bad economy but rather a question of economic, Constitutional and social direction. There are far more folks today who have benefited from the free ride than in the early 1980’s. And still more who have opted out of the American dream in favor of the American hand out. The truth will actually shock many of you who have bothered to do your homework, but the reality is the number of Americans receiving some kind of assistance from the government is staggering and unprecedented, and there seems no end in sight. The entitlement evolution/revolution will apparently succeed where so many of our enemies have failed.

So I personally am not inclined to stare with confusion at the T.V. when I see the President polling two points ahead of Romney, because I know this election is not really about Mr. Obama. It is however about “We the People”. In the end only we can decide whether we will leave our children freedom or the chains of debt. In the end only we can decide if we wish to stop the revisionist train before it derails our future. And in the end only we can “elect” to return to success through hard work and individual achievement which knows only the boundaries of our efforts. No my friends, it is not as simple as Left or Right, Liberal or Conservative. That would be far too easy…
