The Gods of the Copybook Headings…
You would think with the “Leftist” high jacking of all things academia, as well as the arts, literature and science, they would be a bit more philosophical and accepting of others who study the same. The truth of the matter is they are hypocrites of the highest order and utilize these avenues only when it suits their true purpose of demonizing their enemies.
Glenn Beck has set upon the way of fiction writing and is currently promoting his new book “The Overton Window” with a trailer “The Gods of the Copybook Headings” by poet Rudyard Kipling, and the Liberal nut jobs have wasted no time in pouncing for what they call a “lunatic” advertisement. These individuals are so crazed with hatred for Beck the man, they simply gloss over that which they claim as their own from the pen of a literary giant.
“The Gods of the Copybook Headings” is a poem Kipling wrote venting frustration at the loss of his only son in 1915 during WW I, and transitions beautifully into the theme of Beck’s new book. Kipling harbored passionate and bitter emotions concerning “Fabian Socialism” and the hypocrisy he believed led to the destruction of the “Great War”.
Any analysis of Kipling from a political perspective would certainly be a worthy discussion in the world of the “academic”. Consequently, it is nothing short of maddening to hear the Progressives screaming about what I see as Beck’s (brilliant) choice of promotion.
Again we must marvel at the Left’s disdain for all free speech but their own. So caustic are their motives, that they are blinded even to the very foundational beliefs they espouse for public consumption. This is the true definition of hypocrisy, and to me, precisely defines the Progressive movement of our time.
