It should come as no surprise that funding for the “Affordable” Care Act simply doesn’t exist in real money. So notwithstanding what we know to be the Administrations true desire for a “single payer” system of healthcare, it now appears HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is strong-arming health care execs for cash ahead of the official 2014 roll-out of all the budget busting parts of “Obamacare”.
As we watch the IRS scandal unfold before our eyes, and we hear the likes of Eric Holder attempt to explain away lying to Congress and breaking the laws he’s supposed to enforce, and as the truth of Benghazi ebbs and flows like blood through the cracks of an al-Qaeda prison cell floor, this latest departure from ethical government leaves me to contemplate the words of our President back in 2009. “I will also hold myself as president to a new standard of openness …. Let me say it as simply as I can: Transparency and the rule of law will be the touchstones of this presidency.” – President Barack Obama

I ask the Left, as well as the media sycophants who unbelievably continue to turn a blind eye to the obvious, are you comfortable with this? Is this your idea of our children’s America? Is this your answer to the dreaded George Bush? Shame on you, all of you…
It appears the Obama Presidency is unraveling with astonishing speed. That said, I’ve always felt the POTUS’s aversion to accountability and the Constitution would be his undoing. Ideologies aside though, many Americans are finally beginning to see the light in terms of what we expect from a Commander-in-Chief. I say this because whether or not he believes it himself, and for good or bad, the buck will eventually stop at Mr. Obama’s desk. It’s simply part of being President of the United States.
Nevertheless, it’s imperative all Americans understand where we are. When looked at collectively, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and now the troubling issue of secret subpoenas and wire-taps at the Associated Press speak to an alarming pattern of behavior which suggests a discernible tone of indifference from top to bottom in the Obama government, for the Constitutional rights of Americans on every level. Accordingly, if the Administration and those agencies under its direct supervision, as well as supporting and ideologically driven politicians like Rhode Island’s Junior Senator Sheldon Whitehouse are comfortable with the facts so far, then “We the People” should be concerned, very concerned.
My quick email to Senator Whitehouse:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.
Notwithstanding “so help me God”, as I’m sure you might have us do away with the phrase, what part of the above do you not understand Senator?
At a time when “We the People” of Rhode Island are looking to our elected officials for clarity of purpose and Constitutional integrity, we instead have you Sir, towing the party line and sounding like a mindless sycophant. Regrettably, it is understood politics in Washington has become a game of one-upmanship and ideological demagoguery on both sides of the aisle, devoid of true and thoughtful representation. That said, I think we are coming back to a period when folks may be demanding a little more than what you are providing Senator Whitehouse. Your allegiance to this President does not negate fact and reason, and may not be substituted for the above oath. Please, at the very least, try and consider who it is you serve.
Oh, and no return “campaign letter” is necessary in consideration of this correspondence.
With every new gadget that makes defending freedom easier for our gallant military, comes the unintended consequences which can sometimes challenge the very same freedom. Whether it’s high-tech computer surveillance, or a “Predator” drone bringing America’s enemies to extreme/fatal temperature by way of a strategically placed AGM Hellfire missile, we must be vigilant to make sure this technology is never used to circumvent the rights of citizens here in the United States. Appropriately, one would think the Constitution addresses these types of questions, and one would be right. Of course this doesn’t apply if you’re Attorney General Eric Holder, the chief law enforcement officer in the land, and someone you’d think would know his Constitution.
I listened recently as Holder came before the Senate Judiciary Committee to explain a letter sent by his office to Senator Rand Paul, advising him the Obama Administration would consider drone strikes against American Citizens. Senator Ted Cruz prodded Holder for a simple yes or no answer to the question of Constitutionality when considering the use drones against a civilian, and in the absence of any “imminent threat” to national security, or due process. Simple right? Not so much…
In typical Obama Administration fashion, Holder danced around Cruz’s questions for what seemed like an eternity, obviously struggling with the absolute power he and his boss believe was bestowed upon them via the elections of 2008 and 2012. In the most refreshing display of political courage I’ve seen in some time however, Senator Cruz was relentless in his pursuit of a “straight answer”, and eventually corralled Holder into what kinda sounded like, “ok already, it’s un-Constitutional damn it!”. Bravo Senator. I never thought I’d be writing this, but simple Constitutionality is a breath of fresh air in Washington these days…
And the Liberty death clock ticks on…
What I find truly astounding is that with poverty levels having reached those of the 1960’s, 1 in 6 Americans unemployed, underemployed or simply off the rolls completely, over 8 million on disability, and over 67 million receiving some kind of federal assistance, our government still has some money left over so Attorney General Eric Holder can chase after Pennsylvania because of their law requiring folks to have a photo I.D. when voting. And this is to say nothing of the fact that PA has a spotless record when it comes to voter fraud. If I didn’t know better, I’d think Barack Obama needs as many illegal votes as possible to secure re-election. And that his old pal, and complicit AG Holder is going to help him get them.
For the promise of so much “hope and change”, all this Administration has given us is more of the same and worse in Washington.
“Contempt”- an act of disrespect that impedes the administration of justice. I have written enough on the fact that Eric Holder has been nothing short of negligent and possibly even complicit in the death of Agent Brian Terry. I have also written about how these types of things don’t happen without an “Administrators” blessing. Nonetheless, one only has to observe the Attorney General’s posturing and listen to his comments after the vote to understand he is certainly a contemptuous individual with little regard or respect for the family of the slain Border Agent.
While I was prepared to cut this loose if the AG provided what was asked of him, I am now convinced he was never equal to the title of our nation’s “Chief Law Enforcement Officer”. He should resign immediately or be fired by the President. Disgraceful…
As I watch and listen to the courtroom shenanigans coming out of Gitmo, my heart is filled with sadness for the families of those lost on 9/11. I think of the anguish they must be feeling all these years later. Not only have they had to endure delay after delay while Eric Holder argued for the “rights” of the terrorists, they must now sit and peer at monitors as these murdering bastards mock the military proceedings, and their lawyer argues for the right to wear “appropriate” clothing out of respect for the religious beliefs of the enemy combatants. What is happening over on that Godforsaken little Communist island?
“Judge Fred (Patriot64)” would offer the following as a solution:
1. Jurists – Please submit your briefs by the first of the month.
2. Miss Bormann, you will wear clothing appropriate for a military tribunal without deviation, end of discussion.
3. Both sides will have 1 – day long evidentiary session to present their case.
4. A verdict will follow within 24 hours, with sentencing and “punishment” to be carried out at sunrise the following morning. (No appeals), and relatives will be afforded the right to view the proceedings as well as take part if they are so inclined. (Please submit written requests for participation by tomorrow.)
5. I will make a formal statement apologizing to the victims’ families for the delay of justice, prior to the punishment phase.
6. And finally, Gitmo will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and serve as a staging area for the construction of a resort hotel and beach front, to be utilized by the “Wounded Warrior Foundation” as a treatment and rehabilitation center, free of charge, for all who have sacrificed on behalf of their country.
No joke people…
