Looking
2011 straight in the eye, it’s not a stretch to see how some (me) can be a bit
pessimistic. Sorry, but when I read a story like this one,

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/12/29/nc-high-school-senior-suspended-charged-possesion-small-knife-lunchbox/

I’m a little more than concerned that we as a nation may have our heads in the
proverbial pile of sand. It seems young “stand out” high school student
Ashley Smithwick, 17, of Sanford, NC, who studies at the college level and is
an athlete, accidentally took her dads lunch to school which contained a small
paring knife along with the fruit it was meant to “pare”… So how did the
brainiacs down in Sanford handle the situation? They have suspended Ashley for
the remainder of the school year and have had her charged with a crime. I’m
sorry??

Ok, we have gang violence, murder and robbery, drug
trafficking, sexual assault, domestic abuse, child pornography and a damn
laundry list of societal “issues” that are rocking the very foundations of
America’s communities, and the Principal of “Southern Lee County High School”
chooses to make an example of this young lady. What in the sweet name of “you
know who” is going on here???

To the Superintendent of the “Lee County School district”
Jeff Moss: Hey Jeff, would you nut jobs quit being part of the problem and help
us make our children the best they can be. And don’t even try and lecture me
with some overblown explanation straight from the great halls of Academia. I’ve
been wearing a uniform almost my entire adult life and I can tell you
“Ashley” does not appear to be the enemy. This (zero tolerance, feel
good, fraud, crap), is simply out of control and inexcusable. It is nothing
short of maddening and disgraceful, that with the odds so stacked against our
young ones these days, you fools go and tear down an example of what we should
champion. Get it together people. This bone head stuff will come back to haunt
all of us!

What exactly is the message we are sending to our young
people? It is certainly misguided at the very least…

What a loss…

Ronald Wilson Reagan

He was unique among politicians.
His love of God and Country was palpable, and even those with whom he engaged
in political battle respected him for it. His passion and faith in “We the
People” was legendary, and in many ways seems a thing of the past in modern
politics. He knew that America’s future would always and ultimately rest with
her people. His belief in the tenets and ideals set forth in the founding
documents by his 18th century predecessors, gave him the quiet confidence to
lead unconditionally and unapologetically.

You see, Ronald Wilson Reagan new America and was convinced
beyond any doubt that a “government of the people, by the people, and for the
people, shall not perish from the earth”.

End of America

2

The economy of our country would
have been “growing” at the same painstakingly slow pace it is presently, had we
done nothing at all, and it doesn’t take an economist to figure that out.
Instead we have an additional 3 Trillion dollars in operational debt and the
POTUS is looking for more. We look at the jobs numbers today as well and think,
hey it’s down to 9%. This is sad testimony to how accepting we have become of
our current state of affairs. This number does nothing to adequately reflect
the hardships of many who have simply given up looking for work and those who
are now grossly under-employed. It also comes at a point when fewer people are
working than at any time in the last 30 years. But don’t fret, the private
sector created 36,000 jobs…(OMG)… Anemic does not begin to describe this
number. The figures simply don’t tell the story, but they do reflect the
complexity of the problems we face.

Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke even had the hutzpah today to
lecture Republicans on the catastrophes waiting for the U.S. should we not
raise the debt ceiling (again). He spoke of “recovery”, as has been the case
right along with this academic social experiment being conducted at our expense
by this unpracticed college crew. There was no talk of the cost. There was no
talk of the crushing debt that is building by the minute as a result. There was
no talk of our financial standing abroad and the crippling consequences that
await our country in the near future if we continue down this road. Mr.
Bernanke even stunned this author when he brushed off concerns of inflation
even in the face of huge commodity price hikes and rising oil prices.

It is important to me as a pundit and as someone who writes
what he feels, that I not be perceived as just spouting off, or as some
half-baked profit of doom without a factual bone in his body. I do my homework
and feel strongly that it is my responsibility to my readers to be as accurate
as is within my power. It’s also important to me that I convey what I feel is
the greatness of the American spirit in all its inspirational forms. That spirit
is and has always been what I feel sets us apart from the rest of the world.
And despite what some of the Social Justice Crowd might have you believe, this
is a good thing. The United States is us. “We the People” are the engine that
drives our very way of life. There are no substitutes for “We the People”,
none.

Having said this, and in quiet consideration of the growing
readership whom have thus far honored me with their attention, I have spent a
great deal of time and energy over the last year exploring my own thought
process when it comes to the future of our nation, vetting and reconciling my
own history and convictions along the way. As many of you know, I am a study of
history to the point of exhaustion, in search of the answers that always point
us away from the mistakes of the past. I am convinced beyond doubt that these
lessons contain everything we need to right what is now clearly a foundering
ship. With this in mind, and with the approaching Centennial Celebration of the
birth of one of America’s most ardent patriots and optimists, President Ronald
Reagan, I would like to ask that you click the link below and read the article

many of my heartfelt opinions. I have spent hours spot researching many of the

not bring it to you if I felt it was not in keeping with my standards for this
blog.

Please understand my readers, it matters not if you are
Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative, our monetary system and all
that we hold dear as a way of life is at stake in these pivotal times. This
presentation will describe in graphic detail, what we face, and enlighten you
like you have never been before. It is lengthy but riveting and what you choose
to do after you’ve read or watched it is ultimately up to you. Some of you may
already have seen it, but I’ve chosen to do a lot of research before bringing
it for your reading and viewing consumption.

10, Swing voters

As was predicted the Senate vote
to repeal “Obama care” went down solidly along party lines. Senator
Mitch McConnell achieved the Republicans stated purpose however, in getting the
Dems on record for “012″.  I
remain cautiously optimistic regarding the demise of the “health
care” law. Ideally, any challenge that comes before the Supreme Court will
be found legitimate, and the law will be struck down as unconstitutional.
However, these types of cases having to do with the Commerce Clause are always
looked at with raised eyebrows by the Bench. It is refreshing though to see the
GOP doesn’t appear to be caving to the media attempts at portraying them as
baby starving, senior robbing, environment destroying slobs, (as they always
do).

Only time will tell now if the American people will stand
behind their convictions and thus compel their elected officials to do the
same. I must be truthful and admit to you however, that the “10” percenters, as
I like to call them, will inevitably decide many of these issues including the
2012 elections. So as I watch the President’s approval rating inch up, I cannot
help but be worried about this politically correct yet historically inept
bunch, and their uncanny ability to be bamboozled in the easiest of manners by
the slimiest of political hacks…

Egypt violence

I must confess my feelings of
rage this evening as we here of the growing violence in Egypt. This is only
heightened by the recent targeting of journalists attempting to tell the story
from rooftops high above the chaos. Even the Al-Jazeera network has been kicked
out, and western reporters are being dragged to the streets and viciously beaten.

I am doing my level best to be understanding and
sympathetic, but at every turn all I see from the Middle East are people more
than willing to treat their fellow man in the most heinous fashion. I am not
discounting one side for the other at this point as it appears too confusing,
nor am I dismissing the claims of the people against their leaders. However the
manner in which these differences are resolved in that region seems almost
alien in a civilized world. Both sides are prepared to lop off the heads of
their enemies to make their case, and at no point can we see anything to come
from it but more bloodshed, sadness and loss.

I suppose to some degree we have placed ourselves between
the proverbial rock and a hard place by way of many years of policy gaffes,
however I simply cannot feel anything but contempt for what I am witnessing on
my television tonight. Sadly, I know there are good and decent people caught up
in the madness who are merely trying to defend their children in an uncertain
and dangerous time. My hopes and prayers are that somehow, calm will prevail
and God may invoke his wishes that the butchery stop. Otherwise, the only thing
that will come of this, is that those of us who champion human rights and
freedom will be ever more hardened against a culture which is appears
irreversibly bent on upheaval and unspeakable violence as a means to an end.

Egyptian Egypt Middle Eastern oil

I think that we can all agree
violence was a foregone conclusion in Egypt. No concession short of Mubarak
leaving the country on a plane or in a box will be acceptable to some who are
driving these protests. It is as much about highlighting Mubarak’s ties to the
West as it is his 30 year reign over that powerful and influential Middle
Eastern country. Well surprise surprise, Hosni is resorting to kicking a bit of
tail himself, and it appears he still has pocket support sufficient enough to
influence some thugs to pick a fight in the streets of Cairo.

With every day that passes, an outcome satisfactory to the
U.S. appears less and less likely. In the power vacuum that will be created
with the all but certain departure of Hosni Mubarak, the “Muslim Brotherhood”
is certain to emerge in some fashion or another. In the chaos that always
results when the general population is confused and in search of order, these
bottom feeders will seize the moment and profess their “love” of country while
offering the security and stability of theocratic rule. At that point it will
be too late.

Mohamed Mustafa ElBaradei will lead that charge, though it
will be hard to discern at first. But make no mistake, Egypt is changing and
not for the better. For that matter the entire face of the Middle East is
changing and it will have consequences beyond what most are imagining right
now. Sadly there are dark forces at work in that region of the world which have
been plotting and waiting for events such as these to extend and brace their
positions. Much like the Iranian “revolution” of the late 70’s, youthful
discontent and financial despair will be fanned into a giant fire storm of
people looking for someone or thing to blame for their lot in life. In the end,
their “prayers” will not be answered as they were not in Iran, but rather their
anger will be fostered, fermented and finally focused on the real enemies, the
USA and Israel. God help the innocent in Egypt this night, and the coming
nights…

Obama Care

Not surprisingly, U.S. District
Court Judge Roger Vinson struck down the “healthcare” law as un-Constitutional.
However, it is the reaction from the left that has folks paying attention. I
have been saying right along that this is less about “healthcare” than it is
about government control of our daily lives. This fight has been cleverly
packaged to look like a simple matter of “affordable healthcare” for all. Even
the title of “H.R.3590 – Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act” smacks of
“don’t worry, we’ll take care of all of you. Well, I think it’s pretty clear
when we look at the FACTS, the “Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”
neither protects nor is it affordable.

With that said, the Left are crying foul about Judge
Vinson’s reference to the Boston “Tea Party”, and how a big part of our
national heritage was rooted in the colonies desire to shake off the bonds of
an all-powerful government in favor of one with “We the People” out front.

Now the debate over “individual mandates” and the crushing
costs to states in implement this monstrosity of a government takeover are
coming for sure. But I submit to you that the bigger picture remains the
Progressive Leftist campaign to move us from the Declaration and Constitutional
guarantee of “life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” to the unaffordable,
unsustainable and European style nanny state approach of “we got this”, and
“don’t worry, you’re entitled to it”.

So as we watch this play out over the next “3 years” or so,
all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, do not be fooled by the promises of
utopia and free everything. Make it known loud and clear that while there is a
role for the government in so much as they may make it easier for all folks to
access healthcare in America, they must allow the free market to take the lead.
We are the greatest nation on earth. We can certainly provide for those who
“truly” are in need, (not those who simply opt out because they are young, well
off or both), while simultaneously enforcing tort reform and allowing Insurers
to compete in every state. Government has never been and will never be the
answer. Check our record to date in that regard…

Double Standard

I have written much about the
foolishness of these so called “zero tolerance” policies in many of our schools

the amazing double standard that exists when the politically correct

I know that I’m a bit off message with this today

Neil Cavuto

Neil Cavuto is an often very
self-deprecating guy. He highlights a lot of comments to his Fox business
program which project very vile things toward him and even wish him ill will.
(Boy do I know that feeling.) Anyway, I think it’s kind of sad as the guy has
some of the most spot on analysis out there. So as we are watching and
listening to CNN and the “Network 3” portray the “Muslim Brotherhood” and
Mohamed El-Baradei as courageous and right for the future of Egypt, why don’t
we take a page from Cavuto?

You see, Neil makes the very good point that for
generations, the United States has poured out its blood and treasure on behalf
of the rest of the world, including the Middle East, yet China and other
tyrannical governments seem to garner all of the respect. While the foreign
policy of the United States, (no matter how convoluted it may seem at times),
has always revolved around freedom and human rights, that of our enemies has
always been rooted in the approaches of communism, socialism and Sharia Law
which history has shown have facilitated the deaths of literally millions of
innocents. Now I know that it is probably a bit more complicated than this, but
Cavuto makes the case that maybe it’s time for America to put away its wallet
and leave these murdering bastards to their own devises for a time, (including
Mubarak and his band of murdering and corrupt police).

Don’t misunderstand me, we must certainly keep our weapons
pointed in the right direction(s), and continue support for those we know we
can trust and who rely on us for that support, but maybe it is time to stop
trying to buy the “affection” and cooperation of those who see us as (the
enemy) regardless of whatever effort we make.

Change is coming to the Middle East. What does this mean for
the long term interests of The United States? Well that remains to be seen.
However one thing is clear, whatever our course of action, it had better
include defense of our Israeli allies and a clear and quickly achievable path
to energy independence. Otherwise, there are truly bad times ahead.

Ok, I have not done the hard
research on this one, but if there was even a shred of truth to this, which was
sent to me by my better half, then we certainly have our marching orders for
2012… Please excuse any grammatical errors as I have done my best to clean it
up… This is good stuff!!

Wal-Mart vs. The Morons

1. Americans spend $36,000,000 at Wal-Mart every hour of
every day.

2. This works out to $20,928 profit every minute!

3. Wal-Mart will sell more from January 1 to St. Patrick’s
Day (March 17th) than Target sells all year.

4. Wal-Mart is bigger than Home Depot + Kroger + Target
+Sears + Costco + K-Mart combined.

5. Wal-Mart employs 1.6 million people, is the world’s
largest private employer, and most speak English.

6. Wal-Mart is the largest company in the history of the
world.

7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway
combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.

8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought
bankruptcy.

9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the
world.

10. Wal-Mart has approx. 3,900 stores in the USA of which
2,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.

11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences
will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth’s population is approximately 6.5   Billion.)

12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a
Wal-Mart.

13. Wal-Mart has gross sales that total more than the total
revenue of all the countries in the world, except 6.

You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying
the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run
Wal-Mart to fix the economy.

This should be read and understood by all Americans
Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

To the President, and all 535 voting members of the
Legislature, both parties, it is now official you are ALL corrupt morons:

a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You
have had 234 years to get it right and it is broke.

b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74
years to get it right and it is broke.

c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71
years to get it right and it is broke.

d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 45 years to
get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred
to “the poor” and they only want more.

e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have
had 44 years to get it right and they are broke.

f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 39
years to get it right and it is broke.

g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen
our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a
budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had
32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

You have FAILED in every “government service” you
have shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A
GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM?? YOU THINK YOU CAN RUN THE AUTO INDUSTRY…
THE BANKING SYSTEM?????

MAYBE WE OUGHT TO KICK YOUR EGG-HEAD BUDDY BUMS OUT OF
OFFICE AND HIRE WAL MART TO RUN THE GOVERNMENT

Egypt, Riots, Sharia Law

Looters take to the streets and
raid the homes of affluent Egyptians, while still others vandalize and steal
from museums housing the country’s greatest cultural treasures. “Armed men”
storm prisons and free hundreds of “Muslim Militants”, sound familiar?

The POTUS is most certainly in a tough spot and will have to
summon some serious intestinal fortitude to get this one right. As I have
suggested, this could be, not only the greatest test of Mr. Obama’s Presidency,
but may also be the most pivotal foreign policy crisis since 9/11. As tensions
rise beyond protest, and the word “revolution” is used with more and more
frequency, we are left to ponder, what kind of “revolution” are we looking at
here?

I am reading a growing number of recent comments and postings

“Sharia” Law is coming to Egypt, “like it or not”… Watch
closely… There is no doubt a movement within this movement…

Egyptian Egypt Middle Eastern oil

I have some thoughts about the
turmoil in Egypt and what it means for us domestically as it concerns gas
prices and a whole lot more. But let me first offer my observations on what is
really going on over there. First off, it is no secret that Mubarak has been
our ally in the past when dealing with the many Middle Eastern “situations”
that have arisen over the more than 30 years he has been around. With that
said, the man is anything but a freedom loving patriot for Egypt as much as he
is a quasi-Dictator. Such has been the case with many of our “Allies” in that
part of the world. This is troubling as it seems many of our “chickens” are now
apparently coming home to roost, as the good Reverend Wright pointed out so
“eloquently” in his now infamous anti-American pulpit ranting during the 08
Election. I would differ however, with Pastor Wright on the reasoning for this
trend in the sense that we have not been forceful enough in our promotion of
the fundamental freedoms endowed to all people by a power greater than our own,
something he clearly has no concept of…

You see, our quest to purchase more and more oil from that
geographical location as opposed to drilling for it here at home, has
compromised us in ways that we are only now beginning to understand. And as I
said, we will talk more about this in a moment. Getting back to Egypt proper,
the recent comments by former United Nations Nuclear “watch dog” Mohamed El
Baradei should be getting everyone’s attention right now. The native Egyptian
has been placed under house arrest after returning home and protesting, calling
Mubarak’s speech last evening “inadequate” and not representative of his
people. The problem here is that El Baradei is allegedly quite cozy with “the
Muslim Brotherhood” which is rumored to have given rise to Hamas and al-Qaida.
He also supposedly champions “social justice”, and we all know what that means.
Anytime you see the word “social” in front of the word “justice”, look out.
Moreover, if you have listened closely to El Baradei over the years when he was
affiliated with the “United” Nations as I have, it should be clear that the
only freedom he is talking about is freedom from Mubarak. So where does that
leave Egypt when Mubarak is gone? Yeah, you’re getting the picture…

Now I’m not gonna sit here and defend Hosni Mubarak as this
would be in contrast to everything I stand for. However, we must look very
closely at what these protests are all about, and who is behind them. Failure
to do this, and we may be looking down the barrel of another “Iranian
Awakening”, and worse yet, the birth of another (human rights nightmare)
theocracy.

On the Domestic front, it is easy to see that gas and home
heating oil prices will almost certainly rise. The crisis also highlights how
fragile the stock market is in the face of these crisis, and how the President
pointing to its recent surge does so at his own political peril. The stock
market is inherently about speculation and “futures” and should never be used
as a bench mark for our economy. Nonetheless, turmoil in the Middle East always
impacts the market negatively, and short of protesting our own government for
drilling moratoriums and ridiculous “green energy” crap that is still decades
away from having any real effect on energy cost and/or so called “global
warming”, we as Americans must take some measure against the coming fuel price
“inflation”. With this in mind, I am listing below, the companies who do not
import Middle Eastern oil of any kind.
Note: You will not see “Citgo”, as it is owned by the murderous Dictator
Chavez of Venezuela and we should be boycotting them altogether, despite what

The only way we will ever get the serious and unhindered

much smarter than I when it comes to cleaner and more efficient energy.

Unfortunately, that entity has been coopted by the radical
environmentalist nut wing of the progressive Left in this country, and is being
used as a means to their end, that being the destruction of all things
Capitalist and adoption of the “social justice” platform. Moreover, and as I
have stated, there is simply no time to wait at present. First things first,
let us break the bonds of Middle Eastern Fossil fuel by exploiting our own and
very vast resources here at home. This is surely the best and fastest way
forward to strengthening our position abroad. Drill Baby Drill…!

Egypt

The events in Egypt only heighten
the sense of urgency when we talk about Middle East Diplomacy. It speaks to the
role of the United States in promoting personal freedoms in an area of the
world that has seen its fair share of human rights abuses under a slew of
Dictatorial regimes.

Predictably, the only response from the White House thus far
has been to parade out Gibbs for a marathon Q & A, and to have the State
Department issue a travel “warning” for Egypt. Really?

I would say that this event may be the first real test of
this Administration’s ability to manage an overseas crisis that certainly will
have enormous implications for the United States moving forward. What are the
motivations of the protesters? What is compelling them to riot at their own
peril? How will Mubarak respond?

Make no mistake, Egypt, specifically as it relates to the
Suez Canal, is critical to the free flow of Middle Eastern Oil, and its
stability should be on the top of our Presidents list. Moreover, a compromised
Egyptian government is primed for the influence of the Islamofascists.

Pay close attention to this one folks…

“Just because you say it, don’t
make it so”… I love that statement … It just says it all when it comes to the
Obama Administration. For all of the Presidents talk about recovery, our
economy remains compromised beyond what even the most practiced accountants can
figure. Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf, who now faces a
Congress that is at least paying attention, testified today that if we don’t do
something quick in the area of cuts to our massive budget, we will experience a
“fiscal crisis” the likes of which this country has never known. Elmendorf did
caution against unreasonable and reckless cuts that might destabilize the
economy, but warned that we are on a bad road and must change course if we are
to come out on the other side of this financial tsunami, and all this on the
heels of disappointing durable goods sales and 51,000 new claims for
unemployment. Some rocket scientist actually blamed the latter on the snow, if
you can believe that. What, it’s never snowed in January before? I have warned
you all about this coming “cover up” and the attempt by the Left to portray our
situation as something we should humbly thank the POTUS and his band of Merry
Robin Hood re-distribution types for. So please do not be fooled by the visions
of grandeur at the SOTU, or the Presidents obvious eloquence when
“tele-prompted”, we are teetering on the edge, and in for still more
of the same until Washington gets serious about what we can all see as the
proverbial cliff up ahead.

Reagan Obama

President Obama is no President
Reagan. I have been listening to Liberals who have made their political bones
on vilifying Ronald Reagan as nothing short of the Anti-Christ, suddenly
comparing the current CIC to the Gipper. What’s that all about? Well, I suspect
that many of them have always known that America remains predominately Reagan
“Country” and maybe they should try and tap into some of that energy that
continues today. Heck, the guy won 49 states on his re-election bid. For all of
Obama’s youth vote and the like, that is something he will never achieve. Let
me tell you why.

Despite what you may have felt, or have “studied” about
President Reagan’s policies, you always knew that he stood firm for the United
States. He was a patriot first and partisan second. He recognized the intrinsic
goodness in the founding documents and promoted the fact that there is no
nation such as ours, nor has there ever been a country that has done more to
advance the cause of humanity. Reagan understood America on a level that many
politicians today are incapable of. He believed in the spirit and drive of the
American People, and that if just left to their ambitions, there is nothing
they could not accomplish. Reagan had factual history on his side and he
promoted it whenever he could. His strength and his success came from his
ability to communicate his message and vision to “We the People” and we have
not seen it’s like since.

While he is a skilled and often practiced orator, President
Obama is just that, practiced. His belief system was incubated in the classroom
and his application is based on the social justice model. Oddly, he will not
acknowledge the historical failures of that theory and of many of his policy
initiatives. The President believes that an all-powerful central government is
what is needed to move America forward. His faith in “We the People”, unlike
Reagan, is limited to what role those people may play in his government utopia.
Obama’s philosophy actually insulates him from the very people he represents,
and he surrounds himself with those who outwardly denounce our country as part
of the problem. His patriotism is manufactured as a selling tool for the
changes he truly seeks. President Barack Obama has openly stated that he feels
that the Constitution of this country is fundamentally flawed, and he supports
the systematic redistribution of wealth, which is in complete contrast to
everything the Founders ever put forth.

So you see, the two could not be more different. For my part
I remain a Reagan “fan” as I feel that while no nation is perfect, there is
simply no road forward for “We the People” if we do not first accept the
goodness and exceptionalism that is The United States of America.

SOTU

President Obama:  “Let’s fix what needs fixing and move
forward”, interesting concept. On its face it sounds reasonable, that is if it
were any other POTUS. This man is a Chameleon of the highest sort and
understands full well that last night was the unofficial kick off of his
campaign for a second term. He was cautious and vague on details as these
speeches often are, yet he still found the “audacity” to stick in a few jokes
which fell flat, and left us wondering if he really understands the gravity of
our situation beyond his Presidency.

The SOTU was lacking in every way and reflected I think, the
tone of Washington at this moment in time. Salmon jokes aside, I’m sure “We the
People” will largely ignore the references to a bygone era and NASA, because we
understand with clarity that we may not go forward in our current condition.
The American People are facing unrelenting unemployment, rising gas prices,
declining home values, creeping inflation, and a healthcare scenario poised to
play out in ways we could never have imagined, and not for the better.
Therefore the fact that our government continues to ignore that which we may
not in our own lives, is unsettling to say the least.

I agree with the President regarding America’s capacity to
bounce back and then excel. However, this will not be possible until we have
addressed what the POTUS admitted himself last night, and that is that this
problem has been a long time in the making and will not be fixed overnight.

So let us send the message to Washington that is oh so clear
to “We the People”. Fix what is obviously very broken first. Then and only then
can we look to compete at the levels Mr. Obama suggested last evening. It
simply cannot be done in light of our current fiscal situation, and our
President and his Administration are nothing short of irresponsible if they
ignore this fact.

Having to watch the SOTU is
simply tiring. Much of what will be said is fluff on toast with a big fat side
order of party Rhetoric. So as I prepare to analyze and then bloviate tomorrow,
one word comes to mind without reservation when I consider the question, (what
is the state of our union), and that word is “precarious”.

Roots…

Roots of the Republic

There is certainly no shortage of
issues that challenge us of late. The economy, unemployment, and the myriad of
social talking points that dominate the talk radio airwaves come to mind. But I
think we are finally starting to wake up as a people, and understand much of
what ails us is of our own design. Many of the problems that stifle our
societal bliss, we could certainly control if we’d stop ignoring the root
causes. I do not profess to be an authority in this regard, but I would submit
to you that it does not take one to recognize the deterioration of the nuclear
family as at least one of those causes. One does not have to go beyond a
rudimentary “Google” search to find the data which tells this story.

Facts: Many inner city youth are left to their own devises
today and are from fatherless homes where mom has all she can do to provide
basic food and shelter, (usually by way of some government assistance). The
void in the home is often then filled by those who would influence those young
and still developing minds in a totally negative way, usually gangs and other
unscrupulous individuals. Drugs are many times more likely to be part of the
lives of children from these broken homes, and those same children are
significantly more likely to abuse alcohol. (Note: This is no longer just an
inner city issue as many suburban parents have their heads up their you know
whats as well). Additionally, we can no longer ignore the attempt by the
progressive left in our country to politicize these matters to their stated
purpose of undoing the ideals that have made us unique in a world.

Lets face it. When we pull out all the stops to save the
life of a murdering rapist on death row or we diminish and attempt to explain
away the atrocities of those who would maim and kill the innocent in the name
of their religion, and all this while simultaneously treating life in the womb
as if it were nothing more than a petri-dish experiment, we do so at our own
detriment. Moreover, when we attempt to pick and choose which laws we will
enforce, especially where our boarders and culture are concerned, we should not
then be surprised at the bumpiness of that road. By no means am I suggesting
that the above are the only factors that demand our attention, but rather I’m
only highlighting a few variables that can no longer be ignored as contributing
to the delinquency of a nation.

So as we listen to some within our halls of government
scramble to demonize and somehow vilify legitimate debate of the issues for
fear of the truth, or we hear them pontificate on the “horrors” of an inanimate
object such as a firearm which is merely a manipulation of earth’s natural
resources until it is held by the human hand, it is easy to see that our
vigilance in pursuit of the facts and our steadfastness in the face of the
onslaught brought against us by the revisionist progressives is critical.

If we continue to cast aside what we know to be real and
factual when talking about the “State of (our) Union”, and allow politicians
whose interests are their own to control the debate, then all of these “finger
in the dyke” solutions currently on the table will be only a temporary stop
over on the way to the trash heap for nations that ignore history.

Spending

We certainly need to be focused
on the “Made in America” branding much more than in recent years. On this you
will not get opposition from this pundit. However, it is the means to that end
where the POTUS and I have some differences. So as Mr. Obama gets set for the
“State of the Union” address Tuesday, and if as the Wall Street Journal is
reporting he is prepared to ask for additional spending at a time when our debt
is crushing beyond comprehension, I would respectfully ask: “Is this guy
alright?”

No one doubts that America’s infrastructure is collapsing,
but this is a result of mismanagement of our tax dollars, over a long period,
and from the municipality all the way up to the Federal apparatus. It will not
be fixed overnight and there are clearly more pressing priorities at this
point, financial priorities that threaten the very foundations of our economic
stability.

Spending reductions, re-structuring, and private sector
investment in the form of tax incentives and cuts are what will spur
entrepreneurism, and are what the American people want to hear about. Folks are
now wise to the fact that government jobs are not the way to lower
unemployment. We’ve tried your way along those lines Mr. President and it has
failed miserably.

Free market solutions and less government interference will
energize small business to go forth and expand their base of operations.
Spending us further into the abyss is not the answer!! No amount of money we borrow,
(yes borrow) from the Chinese will solve this problem. All it will do is
further embolden the keeper of that debt.

So if it’s jobs you seek, and if it’s more “Made in America”
products you wish to promote, then let America take the wheel Sir. History
shows us that this approach has worked time after time, and it will again, if
you would just let it…

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann is the
face of elitism in the main stream media today. While folks like Chris Matthews
have always attempted to defend their tirades as “journalism”, albeit without
success, Olbermann has remained openly unabashed regarding his feelings toward
the right. With that said, not even his left leaning employers could ignore the
fact that he was apparently and openly contributing to Democratic candidates in
the last election and most likely before that as well.

It is important for “We the People” to know of and
understand these matters as we look to our media for fair and balanced
reporting of the issues that affect our lives. Individuals like Olbermann are
well aware that their leftist crap does not sell in the opinion based media format,

Raptor

I have a bit of advice for the
POTUS. I know he is not big on taking advice from “We the People”, as is
evidenced by his approach to everything from healthcare to cap and trade. But
is truly when this President ventures into the world of foreign policy that his
lack of real world experience is on full display. In light of this, I would
offer the short video below. Make no mistake Mr. President, if you are truly
concerned about the future of your daughters America as you say you are, you would
do well to remember that Communist China has no interest in your shallow
threats of troop re-deployments as a means to hold their feet to the Korean
fire. They mean to surpass us on the world stage. They and other nations, who
fear human freedom as the antidote to their oppressive and murderous regimes,
know only one language. Not only have you failed to right our economy with your
failed tax and spend philosophy, but in this time of world turmoil and threat,
the cuts in the one area that you all in Washington are actually obligated
Constitutionally, is reckless and irresponsible at best.

Firearms Second Amendment

2

It is sad but altogether
predictable. During this period where there has been a high profile incident
involving the death and injury of innocents by way of a gun, the Socialists who
fear firearms for the power of self-protection they afford their owners, cry
out for more stringent and even more European style gun control. This despite
every reasonable and reputable data collection process that indicates
skyrocketing violent crime in Europe while showing dramatic declines in the
United States. Consequently, Rep. Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL), could not pass up
the opportunity to exploit the deaths of two brave Miami Dade Warrant Officers
today to demonize firearms as he has done so vehemently in the past. Not once
did he mention the murderous perp who was neutralized by the very tools he
vilifies.

It is simply too easy to point out the many arguments that
make folks like Hastings look like the fools they are. But I have come to
understand that the 24 hour news cycle plays a dramatic role in glamorizing the
debate as they splash blood from one end of our flat screens to the other,
while simultaneously omitting the fact that you are far more likely to die in a
traffic accident, or be injured or even killed in a myriad of household
accidents, than you are to be killed by gunfire. This by no means is meant to
diminish the events of Arizona or of today, as brave men and women must
continue to seek out those who threaten our communities every day. As someone
who has served his community in a number of uniformed capacities over the
years, I am merely pointing out, that if we are serious about crime then we
must begin with the criminal, and understand that the problem is much more
complex than the simple application of feel good and ineffective statutes meant
to feather the caps of idiot law makers.

Always remember this my friends, revisionist and socialist
politicians like Hastings do not fear the gun, they fear you with the gun. And
if you are a true study of the founding documents and of those who wrote them,
you would understand that this was most certainly their intention.

God bless those who go in harms way for our sake every

Rep Cohen

After all of the debate, after
all of the Presidents words of inspiration calling for more civil dialog, and
after all of the “shots” coming from the left following last week’s tragedy in
Arizona, today Liberal activists show up with a flyer that depicts a bulls eye
target on a Wal-Mart smiley face. This is the same smiley face sticker my sons
favorite retiree at the store entrance gives to him every time he comes
shopping with his mom. Then there is Progressive attack dog Steve Cohen on the
House floor today, calling the Republicans “Nazi’s”, and comparing legitimate
political debate to the propaganda of Joseph Goebbels. What will the POTUS have
to say about this?? I suspect it will be nothing…

The Left is off the reservation in a way that continues to
drive a wedge between their party and “We the People”, and at this pace it will
not soon be removed. For my part, I am truly trying to be the better person. I
am truly trying to be civil and debate the facts as I know them. I truly
believe that politics in Washington has become far too ugly. But I humbly ask
you, what are we to say about a piece of s- -t like Rep. Steve Cohen when he
steps out like this?

I apologize for breaking my decorum rule folks, but
listening to these hypocrites the past few days has been nothing short of
maddening. We will not soon change the tone in Congress lest we change more of
the occupants in 2012. The hatred and bloodlust on the Left, which has been on

Chinese human rights violations

Watching Chinese General
Secretary Hu Jintao disembark from his American made 747-400 and descend the
runway stairs to meet our Character of a Vice President, who will pile him into
a big fat gas guzzling Cadillac Limousine, and then whisk him away to a lavish
state dinner where he will stuff his communist pie hole with anything but egg -
foo – yung, certainly underscores our current “relationship” with the
PROC. The fact that the Communist Chinese nation is holder of 40% of our national
public debt, ($900+ Billion) as well as the fact they continue to devalue their
currency against an American dollar that no longer has a particular precious
hard commodity to back it up, is troubling as well.

Is this what the Founders intended? Is this what we should
expect from the POTUS and his Administration? To be indebted to a totalitarian
regime whose history is soaked in the blood of millions of innocents? A nation
whose leaders should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity, not honored at
dinner in the White House, the very symbol of human freedom as it is known in
the world today.

Truthfully people, who is the fool, Obama or Jintao? If it
is this clear to a hack like me what are the true intentions of the red state
bunch, what possibly could be in the mind of our President, and what do his
motivations say about who will lead the world in the cause to improve the human
condition in the decades ahead?

The Presidents poll numbers are
coming up a bit, albeit in some of the more “POTUS” friendly calculators. These
trends are not unusual following events such as the tragedy in Arizona. During
difficult times, we look to our CIC to lead and reassure us by way of
inspiration. To his credit, Mr. Obama succeeded in doing just that when he
spoke at the now infamous “memorial” service for the victims.

With that said, he will not enjoy the boost afforded former
President Bill Clinton, who rode an economic resurgence wave right over an
unsuspecting and complacent “We the People”. Obama’s economy is a very
different animal. It will be nearly impossible to overcome this crushing debt
and its lingering effects in short order, and unemployment will remain
stubborn, fueled by the fact that many small businesses are finding they can do
more with less and have elected to wait for brighter days.

The Presidents collective approach to foreign policy and his
big government social agenda at home will cost him at the polls if the
opposition can put forward a candidate who can appropriately articulate the American
value system to a battle wary and disillusioned populous. And even if he
manages to squeak by in 2012, I think it is clear that Barack Obama will be
remembered as one of the most divisive and controversial Presidents in American
history. Unfortunately, this will probably not bode well for our posterity.

China

We are preoccupied these days.
The news on the home front certainly bears out this fact. It is significant for
obvious and not so obvious reasons, and it is those not so obvious reasons that
I wish to bring to your attention this evening.

U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates was in China recently
and met with a rather frank and frosty reception. This should come as no
surprise as the Communist Chinese Government has, by way of word and deed,
shown its intention to surpass the United States as the world’s exclusive super
power. The truth is this has been their intention for some time now, but they
have only recently felt much more comfortable with this sentiment out in the
open.  Let’s look at the facts. They own
our debt, theirs is the fastest growing economy in the world, they are
currently moving ahead with their most significant military buildup in decades,
and have apparently test flown what appears to be a technologically advanced
“rendition” of our stealth fighter. When you add the fact that their schools
are far superior to ours, and they are educating their adolescents at the
finest universities in the world including many here in the U.S., it is not
hard to figure out that we may be only years as opposed to decades away from
acquiescing to the People’s Republic of China.

Spiraling and unprecedented debt, creeping inflation,
stubborn unemployment, an Administration that is entirely comfortable with our
country being “equal” as opposed to exceptional in the world, and a populous
dangerously preoccupied with cultural / idealistic differences driven by a
biased and revisionist media, are what the Chi-Coms are seeing. Gates and
others are now finally sounding the alarm. Late as this warning may be, we had
better pay attention, for the consequences of complacency are far more grievous
than you know.

The 2010 election was nothing more than a minuscule move in
the right direction. Our national “Recovery’ will take more than just jobs and
spending cuts. It will most assuredly be all about “We the People” and whether
or not we read the writing on the wall…

It has taken me a few days to get
my arms around the events of last Saturday and more so to process my feelings
about the response by politicians and pundits alike. As someone who now must
admit he plays a small role in the “public discourse”, I have hesitated to post
in detail that which is in my heart and in my head. I am consumed with sadness
for the loss of the innocent, specifically young Christina Green. I want to get
this right, but I do not want to dishonor the memories of the loved and lost by
engaging those who would exploit the crises. I initially offered up a couple of
blogs to remind my readers that those folks are definitely out there, but for
the most part I have opted to wait and hear our Elected Chief Executive speak
to the matter. Well, he has spoken, and as little Christina is laid to rest
today, I would offer the following.

Seeing this young 9/11 babies family carry her casket out of
that church emphasizes how foolish and cheap the jump to politicize the shooting
really was. I must be honest and tell you that I feel the “memorial” last
evening was somewhat inappropriate (as lead by the university President), and
at times appeared to be more of a rally than a tribute. This is a separate
issue however, and many of you have read and understand my concerns about our
current college crop and how their lack of disciplined social skills spells
trouble for our national posterity. With that said, and to his credit, the
President looked completely uncomfortable with his initial reception, but went
on to deliver what I believe was a defining speech in his political career.
There is much that can and will be said about the discourse coming from the
Left and the Right today, but the President moved quickly to point out that
this tragedy was NOT a political statement, but rather the actions of an
outwardly disturbed individual. Mr. Obama’s obviously heartfelt closing remarks
which highlighted the short life of young Christina, and spoke to the notion
that we all might be “worthy” of the expectations she had for that day at the
mall, were the most poignant of the evening. He left the auditorium to
well-deserved applause and tears, having pointed out that we are the masters of
our own political destiny and that if there were puddles in heaven, Christina
–Taylor Green was surely jumping in them.

For my part, as I shudder and wince listening to my own
partisan governor here in Little Rhody attempt to make political hay out of
inexplicable sadness and loss, I will focus on what I feel is crucial during
this time; vigilance in defense of the freedom which belongs to Christina’s
friends and classmates. Gods speed little girl…

Sheriff Dupnik

When we experience times such as
these which defy explanation and leave us searching for reason, it is easy to
become emotionally retrospective and complacent. We long for a solution, and
often those solutions come at the expense of what we know in our hearts to be
true and proportionate. We may even find ourselves, consciously or
unconsciously, at the mercy of someone’s ideological application.

So as we muddle through the days and weeks ahead, and pray
for Representative Giffords and the others affected by this nightmare, it is
incumbent upon “We the People” to be informed and not lose sight of whom we are
as a nation. When ignorant individuals like Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik
put their badges in pocket and suddenly become political pundits, we must be
ever cognizant of the fact they are neither qualified nor obligated under the
color of law to speculate for the public consumption. When a county sheriff
pontificates in front of the cameras about the manner of our national political
discourse, it best be only as a matter of “factual” significance which relates
to the progression of a criminal charge against a person of suspicion.
Otherwise, that sheriff must retire his badge and enter the world of politics,
and thereby he may affect the change he apparently seeks.

You see folks, even in the face of this still unfolding
tragedy, there are those among us who would use it as a means to control the
argument and stifle speech. Our posterity demands that we safeguard against
these types of kneejerk reactions which history demonstrates are the weapons of
choice for those who mean to subvert freedom.

Double standard Giffords

At the risk of being counted
among the many “partisan”, uneducated and uninformed bumpkins like Democratic
Pima County Sheriff Dupnik, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, and Rep.
Robert Brady (D) PA, who engage in the very inflammatory rhetoric they claim to
deplore, I must point out the obvious and factual evidence we have right in
front of us at present.

First off, every attempt to paint this nut job as some sort
of “Tea Party affiliated” “military” and radical right winger, has been futile
as all have so far been disproven. To the contrary, we are now beginning to
see, based on factual evidence and eye witness accounts from those who new or
had first-hand knowledge of Mr. Loughner, including his neighbors, classmates
and college professors, the picture of a deeply disturbed loner who projected a
plethora of warning signs which were apparently ignored in our PC stunted
society.

So from my “Right Wing” perch, my take, albeit an early one,
is that the lefts misogynistic and hands off political correctness approach to
what we may recognize with our own eyes at times, has allowed for a classic
case lunatics volcanic explosion of violence.

The presumptuous, reckless and politically motivated
“vitriol” being spewed by hacks like Krugman, are as I have described many
times, part of the problem.

Spin example as given by James Rosen of Fox News: All rights
reserved.

Krugman, in his blog post on the Times website, went on to
mention Giffords’ presence last year on Palin’s “infamous crosshairs
list.” This was a map, disseminated by Palin’s political action committee,
SarahPAC, denoting the districts of 20 vulnerable House Democrats with images
of crosshairs overlaid on each. The map was accompanied by a caption saying:
IT’S TIME TO TAKE A STAND. Giffords herself, during her narrow campaign victory
over a Tea Party-backed opponent last year, had complained about this choice of
imagery, telling MSNBC: “The way that (Palin) has it depicted, the
crosshairs of a gun sight over our district …When people do that, they’ve
gotta realize there are consequences to that action.”

Unnoted by Giffords then or Krugman now, is the routine use
of similar language and imagery by both parties in a culture obsessed with
“battleground” states. Indeed, a nearly identical map, included in a
Democratic Leadership Committee publication in 2004, featured nine bullseyes
over regions where Republican candidates were considered vulnerable that year,
and was accompanied by a caption reading: TARGETING STRATEGY. A smaller
caption, beneath the bullseyes, read: BEHIND ENEMY LINES. The map illustrated
an article on campaign strategy by Will Marshall of the Progressive Policy
Institute.

End quote.

While it remains my intention to pull back on the reigns as
we mourn our losses, I am equally determined to respond when Hillary Clinton
and other Left Wing antagonists adhere to Rahm Emanuel’s protocol of “you
never want a serious crisis to go to waste”. When faced with so
consequential an incident as this, factual and unbiased dialog must be out
front. To that end, and in honor of those we lost in Arizona, this will be my
charge as we move forward.

Reason

As we mourn the loss of young
Christina Taylor Green, the 9 year old recently elected to her student council,
and who was accompanied to Representative Giffords event yesterday by a family
friend who thought she would find it interesting, I am personally shaken as I
contemplate the message to her friends and peers at school. How do we begin to
explain what has occurred and justify it to those young minds, not to mention
every little one who asks us, “why”? How do we stand as teachers and parents
and offer reason where there is clearly none. And how do we comfort those
affected by this incomprehensible act of mayhem and human destruction? I have
caught myself several times over the last 20 or so hours without direction and
speechless on the matter.

There is something that must be said however, and that is to
those who would use this horrific event to somehow reconcile a political notion
or position, you are despicable and part of the problem. As more information
comes forth, good and decent Americans who understand this great nation must
defy in unison, any attempt to misrepresent, misguide or politicize the events
in Tucson yesterday.

There will come a time when we may debate the reasoning of
this obviously twisted individual and anyone who may have assisted him in his
cowardly act, but that conversation must be kept in the context of a
murderer(s) who violated the law and spit in the face of everything our
Republic stands for.

To the radicals on any side of the political argument today,
“We the People” are watching you, and we will not be influenced by
mischaracterizations or the political calculations of hyper partisan politics.

Prayers for all involved… Please…

Gabrielle Giffords

We may disagree. We may all have
our opinions. But in the final analysis we must respect one another and
understand those differences and the civil and reasonable debate that guides
our national discourse are the hallmarks of our way of life. So it is truly
tragic and often unexplainable when someone steps outside of what is right and
just, projecting extreme and senseless violence as a means to an end, and
injures or kills a public official.

To the family of Representative Giffords who is fighting for
her life as of this post, the families of those who have passed including Judge
Roll, and to the others who were wounded and their families, I send my prayers
and heartfelt condolences. This is a sad day for America. May God bless all who
have been touched by this unimaginable tragedy.

Jobs Chinese Stealth fighter

The POTUS was quick to point to
the recent drop in the unemployment rate touting it as a sign that better days
are ahead. Not so fast…

Now before I get into debunking these numbers, let me say
that it pains me more than you know to be the messenger of the sad truth
sometimes. And despite what some of you may think, I continue to pray every day
that we may rise above this mess, that people will not lose their homes, that
folks will be able to get back to work and provide for their families without
government assistance, that inflation is not poised to play a role in our not
so distant future, and that Washington will come together to tackle our
crippling debt, but it is simply not the case as of yet. First the unemployment
numbers…

The 103,000 jobs created fell short by half of the 200,000
or more needed to indicate a significant upswing in private sector hiring.
Additionally, the reduction in the overall unemployment number is largely a
reflection of many who have simply dropped off the “radar” and given up looking
for work all together. Even more disheartening is the fact that we are still
sputtering around the 9+% range which is truly a measure of how useless,
ineffective and actually detrimental this Administration’s policies have been
to date.

When you look at these facts and then consider the $3
trillion or so dollars it has taken to get us here, as well as the notion that
some are looking to raise our “credit card limit” beyond $14.3 trillion
dollars, and even worse, the full effect of healthcare “reform” remains
looming, along with higher fuel costs and now measurable inflation in critical
sectors, one would think Mr. Obama would be hiding under his desk as opposed to
popping open the champagne.

Look, I’m simply pointing out that which the Left wing media
would rather not. So the next time (WH) Harry Reid threatens the GOP with a DOA
diagnosis for health care repeal legislation, or Nancy Pelosi starts bragging
about her accomplishments at our expense, or when the President tells us
brighter days are just around the corner if we’ll only be patient and “trust
him”, simply stop and ask if it’s true we might all get first crack at any IPO
on the Chinese company building their new stealth fighter… Happy days are here
again??? NOT!!!

Healthcare

$145 billion (if repealed) versus
$700 billion to $1 trillion (if fully implemented) for healthcare. Now those
are just the numbers with the latter figures being conservative as they do not
take into consideration the Obama Administrations double counting its
“savings” in areas like Medicare. You can go ahead and add another
$500 billion short term. The reality here is that if we had done nothing at all
initially, the cost would still have been far less than this monumental and
progressive albatross the POTUS has hung around the necks of our grandchildren.

While I’m sure a complete repeal is unlikely, the “symbolic”
vote coming next week will most definitely open the flood gates of
restructuring, defunding and judicial carving of the law into something that
better addresses the real healthcare needs of our country. Republicans must not
falter in the heat of the blistering attacks that will come in the days and weeks
ahead. The Dems will assuredly pull out one of their age old tactics, that of
dragging some poor misguided and destitute individual out in front of the
cameras, with Brian Williams and Chris Mathews right there to pour out the
claims that Republicans are somehow depriving this poor bastard of healthcare
for his ailing child. When in fact, their solution to the problem of affordable
healthcare in America, is to bankrupt the country and eventually ensure that
any procedure that child needs will be performed in Canada and financed with
interest by Communist China.

As we revisit this issue yet again, I will say yet again,
the solutions are many and do not involve huge debt and unconstitutional
government mandates to purchase products and services. Medical savings
accounts, the ability for insurance companies to sell their services in all 50
states creating a competitive market that drives down cost, tax incentives for
small businesses who “contribute” to their workers’ health care costs, and
“immigration reform”, (yes I said that), are just a few ideas that have been
discussed but rejected as they did not meet the Democrats “Government” option
road to single payer healthcare in America.

Like it or not Mr. President, and you to Harry, this matter
is far from resolved and “We the People” have asked that it be fixed.

I am at a loss today, except to
say that I have faith that this Speaker, this man, is committed to the country

responsible, and I would only say that it is “We the People” who must
step forward and help him by demanding truth and accountability on both sides

Constitution

Now I could certainly engage
these fools with fact and dialogue which centers on the simple, but brilliant
and applicable approach to a representative republic, and how the notion that
those efforts should be shelved in favor of a more “modern” approach is total
hogwash, but sometimes I do tire of bashing my detractors with facts, truth and
historical perspective.

So let me simply ask that you pay these “operatives” no
mind, except to recognize their true motives and understand that it is the very
short but nonintrusive nature of the Constitution and its emphasis on limited
government that makes it unique in the world and in history. Moreover, the time
in which it was written, its “youth” in terms of other worldly and national
charters, and the character of the individuals who wrote it, set the United
States Constitution on a level far apart from the rest. Consequently, I would
also remind those who mean to subvert the document, there is a process to
amending it and I know that scares you.

It is as important that “We the People” understand that
process and why the Founders felt strongly that change should come only by
majority. This simple 2/3 procedure ensures that those who might undermine the
country would have to convince the majority their way was somehow the right
way. (This “fair play” has always been a hindrance to the Left which prefers
backdoor politics and legislating from the bench as their primary means of
change). The Amendment process should also serve as marching orders to all of
us who cherish freedom, love our country and stand on the foundational
documents that set it in motion, to be vigilant in learning our history and
passing that history on to our children as insurance that they not lose that
which many of their forefathers died to protect.

Spending

When we are faced with a
checkbook that does not balance, or we see that we have spent or are spending
too much money, what do we do? Well I’ll tell you what I do, I pull back on the
reigns, check my spending habits and get control of my financial well-being. I
have no choice. My family is depending on me. I think the events of the last
few years have reinforced this approach for all of us personally, and we should
expect nothing less from our government(s).

Look, I’m not a novice who doesn’t understand the “good
faith and credit” of the United States. I’m not someone who is willing to lay
down an unbending alternative to raising our national debt ceiling , but the
reality of our situation does not lend itself to simply raising the limit on
what we borrow without having a solid plan in place to pay for it. These are
serious times with regard to our financial strength in the world, and we cannot
and must not ignore that fact by kicking the can down the road to our children.
The “good faith and credit” of the United States won’t mean a thing if we spend
ourselves into bankruptcy.

My position will continue to be that we first address
spending at the federal level, and that a “truly” bipartisan commission first
present a sensible but practical plan on how we mean to pay for whatever we
plan to borrow moving forward. Until we as a nation are willing to have those
conversations regarding things like entitlement spending, earmarks and the
responsibility of state and local government as it applies to their own fiscal
houses, we remain doomed to failure.

2011, 112 th Congress

That’s the question on a lot of
people’s minds this Monday as we are poised for big changes in Washington.
Personally, I’m cautiously optimistic about the short term and a bit more
realistic about the long term. Look, I have said all along that this is battle
for the soul of a nation, and I stand by that assertion. Consequently, it will
be some time before we can undo much of the damage done since 2008. We must
however, endeavor to repair first and position for the future later. This will
take great resolve on the part of those whom we have elected to do the business
of “We the People”. It will also take the realization of the same “We the
People” that we have strayed far from our founding principles, and that we can
blame this POTUS and the 111 th Congress to a point before we must look at the
big picture blame game. Living within our means must be not only our collective
personal mantra, but that of our governments, municipal, state and federal. At
no time in our brief history have we been able to look at our country and see
ourselves more clearly than we can today.

The message sent this past November was a clear and concise
one, change course and now! But this will not be possible if that message
becomes clouded with the “not in my back yard” approach. This will clearly be a
group effort and it will be up to “We the People” to remind our representative
government, no matter their party affiliation, when we feel they have strayed
from our will and the Constitution.

Core values, principles, smaller government, personal
responsibility, lower taxes, less debt, and freedom are just a few of the words
and catch phrases I want you to remember in the months ahead. Do not allow the
progressives and the poison of an entitlement state be the demise of America.
You know the score, now let’s take back our country!

2011

You cannot fathom how much it
pains me to quote # 42, but there is something he said once that just makes
sense. So in the glow of a brand new year, I think it wholly appropriate I give
credit where credit is due. “There is nothing wrong with America that cannot be
cured by what is right with America” Clinton said, and by God he was spot on. I
know there are and will be times when it seems all is for not, and I am as
guilty as the next pundit of sometimes “highlighting” the negatives to make my
political case. But in the end, it all comes down to what we are and who we
are. Despite our shortcomings and the ideological battles that often define the
times, I believe that the spirit of freedom burns like an eternal flame in the
hearts of all who know and understand The United States of America. Sadly, the
(priority problem) we are facing today, is that our parents and grandparents
are leaving us. It is now up to this yet undefined generation, somewhat
complacent, a bit sedentary, and tempered by a different kind of war, to
safeguard the value system that has changed humanity to the good and for all
time. In order to do this however, we must rise and be stalwart stewards of
that history we did not live, and pass it on to our children as if it were a
priceless family heirloom never to be discarded.

God bless and keep you all. Happy New Year!
