Libyan rebels are now rejoicing
on news coming out of the UN today that relief may soon be on the way. The
unfortunate part is that America has not lead. France and Great Britain have,
and it may yet be too late. Our CIC has assumed the role of passive leader of
an inconsequential nation with no more of a stake in the game than any other.
Through his “calculated” foreign policy initiatives, he has succeeded in
relegating the United States to just one of many, erasing our great nation as a
symbol of liberty to the oppressed around the globe. With Barack Obama as
President, the United States now placates when we should lead, and acquiesces
when we should champion the cause of freedom. All this for the sake of
collectivism or some perceived/desired international approval.

Very early in this Presidents Administration it was thought
by some that the damage he would do would take a generation to repair. In
consideration of his policy doctrine both abroad and at home, and his
nonchalant approach to consequential issues, that assertion is being vindicated
before our very eyes. God bless our Soldiers and Airman as we continue navigate
the Obama Presidency.

An America not out in front, is not America…

Easter 2011

Good Friday always makes me reflective, reflective in the
sense that my belief system recognizes a man who suffered in unimaginable ways
some 2000 years ago on my behalf. Consequently, I am more cognizant that I
spend far too much time complaining about the day to day events in my life as
if they were somehow earth shattering or deserving of more of Gods attention.

Now it is not my intention to engage in a religious debate
this Easter Weekend. As I have written many times, I am just not qualified. But
as we make our way through some of the most difficult and uncertain times in
recent memory, I feel it is worth noting that selfishness seems to permeate
much of what we do and is far more prevalent today than I can remember. Even as
I negotiate an average 24 hours for “Patriot64″, I am amazed at the
one sided, deceptive and basically hateful way in which many conduct
themselves. Now again, I am not judging, but rather simply making the case this
Easter, that one does not have to be a media pundit, nor an investigative
journalist to see a correlation between our current trials and the fact that
our morals and guiding principles in many cases, have given way to self
centered, materialistic and vindictive ways. Gone forever seem the days of
frank and honest discussion of the issues at hand, in favor of one-upmanship
and cut throat politics with no regard for the consequences, individual or
collective.

Now I would be a liar if I said that I have not met much of
this type of interaction head on with some gamesmanship of my own at times, but
my “tactics” have always been tempered by civility and reason when it comes to
the end game. To hurt without cause or provocation has never been a means to an
end for me.

So no matter your religion or belief system, and even if you
do not have one, I am appealing to folks as human beings, to remember we all
share a common blood and it is red in all cases. As a Christian however, I will
pray this very special holiday for me, finds all of you, well and in
contemplation.

God bless,,, and I will be back on page Monday…

Medicaid
Yikes…

The “audacity” of this President and the complicit main
stream media who enable him are astounding. If the POTUS were not flat out
lying about the Republicans 2012 Budget proposal while out on his “Town Hall
Tour”, we might have some hope of a legitimate debate. What we do have is a
Commander in Chief out on the stump claiming that Paul Ryan and the House
Republicans are hell bent on making sure every senior is eating dog food, while
every sick child is deprived of the essential medical care they need to
survive. According to Mr. Obama, Medicaid would all but be eliminated and
forget about social security because that program would be shut down… PLEASE
SHOW ME WHERE IT SAYS THAT MR. PRESIDENT!

There is simply not one shred of truth to anything this man
is saying, and it is nothing short of the most disgraceful display of partisan
demagoguery in recent memory. All the while the media has not only given him a
pass, but Chris Matthews and the gang that flunked basic math are trumpeting
his budget that the CBO says won’t come close to saving what he says it will,
and will cost over a Trillion dollars more than the Republican proposal. Even
more aggravating is the fact that they have not vetted one, or even attempted
to vet at least one claim of Capitalist Armageddon being spouted by the Obama
Socialist brigade.

As a matter of principle, I suggest all of you take a few
moments and watch the Ryan budget video on YouTube. Some of the comments about
the presentation on the Liberal media portal are rather funny. Nonetheless, it
is imperative that you get educated on the matter of our financial future, and
understand that you will not get the real deal story from the likes of Matt
Louer and George Stephanopoulos.

With the debt ceiling debate heating up, the Obama circus
out driving the class warfare bus right off the proverbial cliff, and an
ideological battle shaping up that is certain to determine America’s future, it
is our duty, no our responsibility to check the facts, and check them again!
Our children’s future depends on it. Frankly, in the age of modern media and
the internet, there is simply no excuse for being uninformed. It should also be
noted that there is no excuse for spewing unproductive rhetoric and
misrepresenting the facts when we are faced with the most significant financial
crisis in our nation’s history.

Speculation

On the matter of speculators and how they drive the market,
I know it can be very confusing to hear the Wall Street analysts debate the
matter. For my part, I have mixed emotions about what they do and how it
affects trading. On the one hand, “trend trading” or “speculation” is all part
of the stock market equation. But on the other hand it may drive the market
outside normal patterns, and this can cause angst among even the most ardent
investors. With that said, when the POTUS tries to tell us the main reason for
the high gas prices is that “speculators” are driving the price up, I have to
laugh at his simplistic and “community organizer” application for every problem
we face. It’s those damn Capitalists…

The truth however is another thing all together. In this
case the “speculators” are right on the money and have figured out what the
President has either missed or is ignoring because higher gas prices will help
promote his radical environmental policies. Either way, the Middle East is on
fire and is certain to get worse before it gets better. The President’s refusal
to accept that this is simply not the time to be chasing unproven and untested
technologies as a means of addressing our over-dependence on foreign oil, has
put us in great jeopardy at a moment in history that will not bode well for the
United States.

So as we watch our government continue to ignore our own
natural ability to provide for our energy consumption needs, and as this would
only help help stabilize a fragile and severely compromised economy,  I have but one word for the President of the
United States: Negligent.

As I watch the Progressive hate mongers hurl their vitriol

more and more apparent that my prediction of a showdown between the ideologies
will come to fruition, and sooner than I imagined. The radical Left playbook is
wide open and Socialist manipulators are out in full force with the media
double standard glaring. This is the battle for the soul of America that I have
written about time and again, and it is no time for “We the People” to become
complacent. Vigilance is the word for the time. I cannot stress this enough my
friends. Pay attention and understand you may yet have to fight for your
country. Now that fight will mean different things to different people, but it
will be a fight just the same and we will all play a role.

Flat Tax Term Limits

I think it’s fair to say that the 2012 Election will be a
hard fought, bitter and ideological contest the likes of which we have not yet
seen. One thing is for sure though, two years of the current President should
leave no doubt in the minds of voters who the man really is. This is a good
thing. Americans must make an ideological choice this time around.
Fundamentally, all of the arguments currently on the table have their roots in
how we view ourselves as a nation and as a people. There are many reasons for
this, not the least of which is an entire generation “going away”. Ironically,
it is the last of the “Greatest Generation”. Those who were tested by times
that required national pride and courage on a level we do not see today. This
“Greatest Generation” came together under one flag and a set of principles they
acknowledged set them apart from the rest of the world, and they were
comfortable with that. Sadly, it appears a good number of their baby boomer
children have ignored their warnings and counsel and set about remaking our
country into something it was never intended to be. They have corrupted their
children and mocked what is good about America in favor of some collective
utopia preached in the books of Marx and Soros. They have ignored historical
fact which clearly shows, in graphic and violent detail, the failure of such a
belief system, and laid their souls at the altar of science and mans vanity.

Now in this time, we have come to a Progressive President,
elected by a small number of conviction challenged “Independents/10%ers”, who
saw him as a means to the end of an unpopular and politically incorrect two
term predecessor. Consequently, failure to understand completely the cost of
their choice has left them bewildered and hearing the voices of their dead
parents. But as we have discussed, elections do have consequences and we are
seeing them play out before our very eyes. This phenomenon has set in motion
the growing storm that I have predicted these last four years. There is no
downplaying this history we are living, and the true affects will make my
melodramatic presentation seem a bit inadequate in the end.

So as we hear President Obama talking to supporters in his
home state on an open-mic, (What is it with this crew and open microphones?) we
do get an ever clearer view into the world of a true insider politician with
deep political partisanship as a character trait, and divisiveness in his
heart. We hear a Chicago elitist accustomed to, and an ardent practitioner of,
the very political vitriol he railed against during his famed and media praised
speech in Arizona some months back. Bottom line is he is no different from the
rest… Sorry Libs…

If you are noticing a sharpening of my political tone, you
are not mistaken. As this election season begins, my intention is to have this
argument with anyone who will listen to or read it. The stakes are that high.
And while I have complained many times about this fight that I believed would
most likely be fought in the days of our grandchildren, there is simply no
denying that it will now be fought in our time, “on behalf of our
grandchildren”.

Debt speech

It appears a line has been drawn
in the sand. Yesterday afternoon The President of the United States made it
very plain where he stands on the issue of our country’s massive debt, and what
he believes is the way forward. The question today is how “We the People” feel
about it.

As I suggested with yesterdays mobile blog, his remarks were
short on substance and long on condescending rhetoric. Throw in a hefty dose of
demonizing the opposition, add a sprinkling of Bush Bashing, and it was clear
Mr. Obama was back on the offensive with class warfare as his weapon of choice.

After doing my best to make it through the Presidents
academic interpretation of our debt crisis, and his elitist and divisive
proposal for addressing it, my brain felt numb. How could this man who was
hailed as the great “uniter” just two short years ago now be driving such a
sharp ideological wedge into our national makeup?

I responded to an op-ed in my hometown newspaper recently by
a man complaining about “tax cuts for the rich”. It kind of helped me to
understand this whole argument a little better. The writer went on to espouse
that instead of “tax cuts for the rich”; we should be fixing our decaying roads
and bridges, pumping more money into our public schools and helping those “in need”.
I explained simply, that all that money had already been spent on massive
entitlement programs that afford free health care and a myriad of other free
social services to illegal’s and “generational recipients”, as well as huge
pension and benefits packages for the teachers unions leaving little for its
intended purpose. I also asked to which “rich” folk he was referring? Would
that be the top 25% of wage earners who pay fully 87% of all income tax? (Below
50% pay just 2% or less.) Or maybe he was referring to those fat cats in New
York who shell out almost 60% of their entire income in some form of taxation,
be it state or federal.

When I have my ideological arguments with people over the
“Haves and the Have Not’s”, I like to frame it this way. We should not chide
the “evil” business person by way of burdensome or excessive taxation lest they
move their business overseas and avoid unsustainable labor costs as well. A
happy and productive business person tends to expand his/her business and hire
more “We the peoples” which broadens the tax revenue picture, no? If we don’t
like working for the “evil” business person, we can start our own businesses
and become “evil” business peoples too. We may fairly and
appropriately regulate the “evil” business person, always keeping in mind
however, that to inhibit his ability unjustly, or in favor of ridiculous and
unfounded “green crap”, is to shoot ourselves in the proverbial foot every
time.

I could go on and on with this sarcastic diatribe much like
the POTUS often does, and truthfully my original post was closer to 1000 words,
but you get my drift. I’d say that after his speech yesterday there should be
no doubt about our choices. Mr. Obama has staked his Presidency on
fundamentally changing America as we know it. The proof is in his words and
deeds with little ambiguity. In the upcoming election you will have a choice.
How you choose will affect this country like no other vote short of
ratification of the Constitution. Choose the hard road and the reward will be a
better nation for our children. Choose the easy road and we will join the likes
of Greece and Spain within two years, period !

Debt

Does it surprise anyone that the
POTUS will make his big “debt speech” from a university. Apparently,
the academic venue is the only place this guy feels secure these days. I guess
its true that he could say just about anything short of nixing financial aid
and they would shower him with standing ovations and unending adoration. Make
no mistake, Mr. Obama and his handlers also know he will need their uneducated
votes in 2012.

In the real world though, this “lecture” will most
likely be short on specifics and long on rhetoric, as the President’s speeches
often are. And for those of us who now live in that real world, and not in the
beer soaked, pot smoke filled halls of Academia, here’s hoping they’ll move the
venue to say, the lobby of the “Federal Reserve”, or maybe the
“Congressional Budget Office”, and possibly that we might actually
hear some realistic and hard numbers that speak appropriately to the epic
crisis we are facing… Fat chance…

With a new CNN poll showing more Americans crediting
President Obama with cutting spending, than the Republicans who dragged his tax
and spend rear end kicking and screaming to the signing, it’s hard to imagine
what the fiscal battles ahead will look like. The same cuts he called
“draconian” and “reckless”, he now hails as “historic”… Huh??? Let’s face it,
this guy ran up on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial like an Olympic sprinter
after the agreement shouting, look at me I’m the greatest. I wonder how the
Left is feeling right about now. Don’t have to wonder though, just listen to
some of the big Lefties crying in their milk. Even Soros is out there prodding
the POTUS to get back on the “government is the solution” band wagon.

The good news is that most Americans think the deal was a
good thing, and that Washington had better stop printing money post haste. The
others are mostly confused, and mixed in with them are the Soros folks who
espouse the collapse of Capitalism to make way for the “one world order”. And
they are actively pursuing that end.

So as the POTUS gears up to lecture us on his solution to
our crushing debt issue (raising taxes), do not lose sight of the real number
and how we are at roads end with government spending. If we do not make a
massive course correction and soon, no debt ceiling will be high enough and no
plan will ever get us out from underneath the mountain of interest and
obligation our politicians have created for our children.

As we watch the battles shaping up over the debt ceiling as
well as the 2012 budget, it easy to get a bit redundant as a pundit. It’s tough
not to end up rehashing the same stuff out of frustration over the fact that
you feel some folks just aren’t listening… J But that kind of goes with the
territory. So I will try and tie in some stuff today to make my case.

Part of my pundit playbook is simply paying attention and
listening to what’s going on around me from day to day. A couple of things
struck me this past week. I was within earshot of a two college aged young men
and overheard one ranting to the other about how he was absolutely certain it
was a military jet that hit Tower One of the WTC, and that he could prove it
based on web sites he had visited on the internet. He raved on as he past using
a number of unprintable expletives to describe our country. My first thought
was to laugh and say to myself, how nice it was to be young, free and stupid and
how interesting it was that a lack of context and experience could foster such
bunk in that still developing brain. But then I thought, this is not a child.
This is a young adult who has a world of learning at his fingertips.
Furthermore, with all of the information out there and available, how does this
individual come away with such a negative and frankly inaccurate picture of the
worst attack by a foreign entity on American soil in our history, without first
having been taught that America is just plain bad to begin with?

I was also told buy a parent recently that her 8 year old
son’s teacher explained he was a very good student, but was also “very black
and white” about what he believes. I thought about how this ties into my
observation above and how important it is to get it right with our kids from a
very young age. They are mirrors of us for good or bad, and there is much that
can affect their views later in life.

My conclusions here are not ambiguous. There must be clear
lines based on simple principles first and foremost, before we can explore the
rest with any real objectivity. This is the foundation of our entire belief
system in the United States, and it is also that which we take for granted when
it comes time to teach our kids the basics. This simple oversight by a parent
may very well open the door for bigger problems down the road. To the “black
and white” comment, I would only suggest that decades of an overly “grey”
application have compromised us as a nation in ways that should now be very
apparent to everyone.

How does this fit in with the everyday political crap? Well
as I have suggested, all of this is about whether or not we will pass on the
same America we inherited, or dare I say a better one. It is about whether or
not we will instill in our children the greatness of our country first, and
remind them daily of the benefits of “true” freedom and of the many who have
died to provide it to them. If we do not do this, budget battles and other
important structural aspects of our government will be fought on unstable and
ideological grounds only, without regard for the real consequences for future
generations.

Just numbers???

Deficit

Listening to the POTUS attempt to praise both houses of
Congress while simultaneously taking as much credit as he possibly can for last
night’s 11 th our budget deal is stressing my ears. What I would like to hear
from Mr. Obama is something about how this $40 Billion dollars in cuts is
nothing more than a repudiation of the budget he proposed at the SOTU. As you
see in my last context blog, this is a minuscule down payment on a debt issue
that threatens to spin further out of control with each passing day our
politicians dither about the means to deal with it. Moreover, (WH) Harry Reid,
and folks like Representative Louise Slaughter, along with a complicit main
stream media, lie, misrepresent the facts and spew their vitriolic hate speech
in an effort to so demonize the opposition, any hope of legitimate debate is
out the window.

It remains difficult for me to fathom how a man like Harry
Reid could have been re-elected to yet another 6 year term in Washington. I
suppose the answer is actually, there are many reasons, not the least of which
is the pork he has brought home to Nevada at the expense of all taxpayers over
the years. Additionally, an educated voter is essential for an appropriate
outcome. Sadly, our country is teetering because too many have sold their soul
for a hand out today that will certainly bankrupt their children’s tomorrow.

Do not misunderstand me, this “deal” was a helpful
step in the right direction for every taxpayer who can see the train coming.
The problem remains however, that the complacency and willingness of some to
excuse away our dilemma will definitely be our undoing. Even more disheartening
is the fact that so many more have come to embrace the entitlement, and forgo
the effort and the exceptionalism that is born of it. This makes our collective
future as a nation that much more uncertain.

Ultimately, there are no real “winners” in this
recent battle of the budget, only those of us left in limbo to ponder the next
move of politicians we know are pandering for re-election. I will now begin my
long march to bring about term limits for all politicians. It is time to take
back our government from the Harry Reid’s and all those who have corrupted it…
Stay tuned…

Government shut down

Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution grants power to the
Congress to levy taxes in order to provide for the common defense and for the
general welfare of the United “States”. What we have now is a gross
misrepresentation of that intent. Clearly if one reads the entire Constitution
they would understand how far we have deviated from the original intention of
our Founders, to empower the states while providing a limited “shield” if you
will, for the overall but general protection of the collective union.

Today’s federal government is a travesty. A combination of
placating politicians and years of feel good entitlement spending have created
the class divide that has permeated our political process and crippled our
economy. While there is no excusing the sins of the corporate criminals and the
taxpayer funded bailouts that resulted from that graft and corruption, there is
also no excusing the fact that fully 62% of every dollar in revenue going into
the federal government is spent on entitlements. Some estimates are even a bit
higher. However, I have rounded them off to make the case. Think about that.
2/3 of your hard earned tax dollars don’t go to fix your roads and bridges, nor
do they go to pay our brave young military volunteers, nor do they go to
preserve our historic sites for our children to ask and learn about. But rather
they are squandered by our elected officials in order to create and maintain an
entitlement class that will secure their power in Washington for generations to
come. Sadly, lost in all of this waste and abuse of power, are those who are
really in need. They are lumped in with the abusers and illegals and must
shoulder that stigma along with their hardship.

It is time America. It is time for us to rise up and revisit
what we have allowed our politicians to destroy, the American spirit. It is
time to ask the tough questions, except the tough answers and apply the tough
solutions. We know the problems, and yes, we know the answers. Tell your
elected officials that this cannot go on. It will not be easy. Problems that
have been allowed to fester as these, and have been stoked by those who mean to
change us from the inside out, are never easy to resolve. But do your homework.
Do not ignore what you know is the truth. This is not like any crisis we have
ever faced. The consequences of inaction or inadequate and meaningless action
will be fatal for America!

Listening to Eric Holder steam off his contempt for the
military court of justice, our representative government, and anyone else or
thing that is not in line with his/his bosses Socialist agenda is nothing short
of sickening. I really wish someone would have thrown a shoe at him when he was

On another matter, Representative Paul Ryan will submit the
Republican Budget proposal for fiscal 2012 today and it is sure to ring a few
bells on the Hill. But just to reinforce what I’ve been trying to explain over
the last year or so, even this gigantic swing by the GOP will only shave about
6 Trillion dollars off the debt over the next “10” years. If this doesn’t give
you an idea about how far we have fallen as a nation, and how the current stock
market boom is being propped up by the Fed’s money printing bonanza, I don’t
know what does. So the next time somebody starts whining to you about social
justice with their hand out, feel free to write them an “IOU”, and then punch
them square in the mouth… Just kidding, but you get my drift.

On that note, and in contrast to Eric Holder, please hit the
following link and read about a truly remarkable man, Keith Anderson. Mr.
Anderson is an East Providence, Rhode Island High School teacher who was
paralyzed when the car he was riding in was hit by a drunk driver. He has met
every challenge life has thrown at him and he has done it on his own with no
help from the government. He is the epitome of courage and character, and his
story will make you cry. But it will also inspire you to face the world head
on, every day, and with no excuses. If I may take my Lenten promise one step
further this Easter, it will be to aspire to this man’s humanity, and emulate
what is truly the American spirit, alive and well in Keith Anderson.

Barack Obama

1

Not really… Progressive maybe…

It should come as no surprise that the President has
announced he will seek a second term. So for the purposes of constructive
dialog, let’s take a look at what we have learned in the first two years.

Firstly and I think most importantly, two years of the Obama
Presidency have left the ball squarely in the court of “We the
People”. Not in the last 60 years have a President’s policies so clearly
defined the man himself. One does not have to dig very deep to understand where
this previously one term Senator/Community Organizer is coming from. And it
should also be no secret about what he intends to do with another 4 years. His
meteoric rise out of a pool of mostly washed up and baggage laden opponents in
the 08 Election is the stuff of legend. His “newness” (inexperience),
his teleprompter driven oratory skills and yes, the color of his skin gave the
“independent” crowd something to sink their “middle of the road/I
wanna be with the in crowd philosophy” into. Now, they must look once
again. Not just at the man, but at what he has done, and apply that experience
to what it means for their children.

Second is undoubtedly the “Hope and change” thing.
I know there has been “change”, but what that “change” has
done to the “hope” can be found not in Mr. Obama’s approval ratings,
which often reflect the Electorates view of the man himself as opposed to his
policies and their results, but rather in the number that reflects whether or
not “We the People” feel the country is moving in the right
direction. When we look at that number we would all do well and ask if we can
afford 4 more years of what has arguably been the most economically and
socially changing period since the 60′s. (Looks a lot like it too…)

Is this the hope and change that was promised and does it
look anything like what it should? Are these the values of our forefathers? Is
14+ Trillion dollars in crushing debt an acceptable price to pay for all that
hope and change, and is this the America we want to pass on to our children? Do
not let your desire to “fit in” devalue what you know in your heart
to be right. Do not be persuaded that American Exceptionalism is something to
be ashamed of, and never ever except that the United States of America should
be anything but a Representative and Constitutional Republic of Laws with no
man above them.

If you all remember, I wrote that the Elections of 2010 were
only precursors to the more important 2012 Election. Not just because it is the
Presidential cycle, but because a Congressional shift to the right would draw the
battle lines between the ideologies, leaving “We the people” to
choose the way forward. That time is now fast approaching.

So as the POTUS makes it clear what he believes with the
announcement that he will run for re-election and finish what he has begun, the
question is what do you believe? Think very carefully about your answer. It may
very well affect not only the lives of your children, but even your own in the
much shorter term…

For my part as a “Constitutional Conservative” I
am still waiting on any emerging candidate who can overcome the manufactured
charisma of this Jimmy Carter do over…

Letting the little guy take the
wheel today…

Brendan Doherty

The people we meet along the journey influence us in many
ways. Good or bad, we can all look back and remember these people. Newly
retired Rhode Island State Police Colonel Brendan P. Doherty is one of those
people for me. So in recognition of his many contributions to Rhode Island and
to the community at large, allow me to offer the following.

The Colonel remarked at his recent retirement ceremony, that
as he listened to folks chat him up, he felt as if he were at his own wake. I’m
certainly not comfortable with that analogy so I will be brief and in context.
Throughout my own career, I have known many Law Officers. Some were good,
others not so good, and even fewer who were unique and embodied what a police
officer should to the citizenry. Brendan Doherty is one of those law officers.

My experiences in law enforcement have been varying and my
badges all silver. Disillusionment with some within the modern police hierarchy
and the “protection” (by a few) of that blue line no matter the cost
have left deep scars. Admittedly, those “scars” are well over two
decades old now, and I have come to recognize only the incredible
“responsibility” a Law Officer has to his/her community, and also the
obligation they have to be above reproach. This must come from the heart and
cannot be taught in any academy nor can it be negotiated into a union contract.
There are many extraordinary police officers getting it done every day and
still others who have given all, of this I am always cognizant.

In that vein, Doherty’s career should be required reading
for “real” aspiring police officers. His uncompromising yet fair and
effective approach to fighting crime, as well as his palpable respect for all
those he interacts with regardless of their “side of the story” is legendary.
Knowing and working with Brendan is education in motion and an exercise in
qualified application. You excel and don’t even know you are trying. The bar is
higher, but the result evident and appreciated. Moreover, you are always
confident and comfortable with the effort, more than likely because there is
far less stress when you know you are doing the right thing. Honor and
integrity have no substitutes.

As most in my home state know only his celebrity, they are
left to ponder the next move of a still young and highly motivated public
servant. For those of us who know him, it is more of a hope that a lifetime of
service does not end at the door of his beloved new State Police Headquarters
in Scituate Rhode Island, but rather begins again as a fresh albeit inexperienced
political force for change in our state. Lord knows where the “experienced”
bunch have gotten us thus far.

Congratulations Brendan job well done… Now, I’m very sure
there is some yard work to be done in the interim.

As someone who uses “Go Daddy” to promote my political views
in the form of this blog, and a red blooded American guy who really digs Danica
Patrick, “I’m” not sure what my place is concerning Mr. Parsons and his
Elephant hunt. So I will put “myself” in his shoes.

I love hunting… What better way to promote what I love, and
help my fellow man as well? Furthermore, you have read many times of my feelings
about the Environmentalist nut jobs putting animals before people, and the many
examples of the catastrophic results.

Having said this, I believe in responsible and ethical
hunting and damn it, there is nothing about this video that gives me pause. From
start to finish it is a win for mankind. The elephants are plentiful in the
area and are actually a nuisance threat. The crops are saved, there is meat for
the people to eat and Bob Parsons is enjoying his love of legal hunting. To
those who oppose, it is your right, but that’s where it ends…

Polls

It is always gets confusing when we try and make sense of
some of the poll numbers out there. This is why I look to “Real Clear Politics”
as they list cumulative averages of all the polls. Reconciling those results
against what I see and hear in my daily life is even more difficult sometimes.
At present, I am still unconvinced that “middle of the road” America is ready
to walk away from this caricature of a President currently occupying the
office. How could something so good become so wrong for America? How could so
much promise and progress be for not? How could we have been so misled?

I’m quite sure most Americans see the problems and are
asking why. But one would think with all the evidence in front of them, Mr.
Obama would be in the 20% range for job approval. This “shared blame dynamic”
as I call it, will certainly play a role in our political process for the
foreseeable future. The problem with this type of analogy is that so much of
what is killing this country right now can be directly tied to the policies of
this Administration and the 111 th Congress. To deny this puts you in one of
two categories. The first category is the “blind sycophant” who will go to
their respective graves singing the praises of the object of their affection
regardless of their demonstrated worth. This is usually the result of some
misguided racial component and/or party affiliation lacking context or factual
basis. The second and more dangerous category is the “change America” crowd who
are focused only on rolling the United States into some European style
Socialistic and Collectivist Utopia, devoid of individualism or exceptionalism.

Gathering in this broad view of where we are today I am left
to wonder until the next election how much the United States of America has
changed of recent, and ask “will it be acceptable to Americans that for the
first time in our history, we the current generation will pass on to our
posterity a country diminished?”

As we take stock of our current predicament, and the
solutions thus far applied as “corrective” measures by those we have sent to
the halls of government to speak for us, one might ask in frustration, “Are
Americas best days truly behind her?” I am human and I may ask, but I will
never believe!!!

This President spends an awful lot of time “clarifying” his

I’m a little “late to the game” on this one because of illness, I heard nothing
that would lend itself to “clarifying” anything about this Libya nightmare in
his speech on Monday.

I will be honest here, I am on the hot seat with many of my
Conservative friends who are totally against the “action” in Libya. I believe
there was a role for us insomuch as the United States should support those who
wish to come out from under the murderous hand of a despot criminal dictator
such as Gaddafi. We certainly missed that window initially however. Moreover,
problems have now surfaced and are about to come full circle, in large part
because of our Liberal Presidents disdain for all things military, along with
his lack of experience in handling foreign intelligence, and obvious confusion
on what to do with that intelligence by way of military force and the
appropriate use of it.

In the end Libya may be this Presidents Iraq as he appears
to have underestimated and miscalculated on what is shaping up to be a broader

Chuck Schumer

Hey, are these on???

It is no secret that Chuck Schumer is a partisan hack of the
highest order and cares nothing for anything except his Liberal ideological

this reason I am always hesitant to bring up folks like him as subjects of
legitimate discussion as there is nothing legitimate about him. I also don’t
like insulting my readers with redundancy and the obvious. Unfortunately, this
is sometimes necessary to make the bigger point.

At a recent event, and unaware his conference call was open
and being monitored by the press, Schumer listed the Lib talking points,
including suggesting Speaker Boehner might be handcuffed by the Tea Party
members on the Republican side of the isle, and calling the GOP’s spending
cuts, extreme. “I always use the word extreme,” Schumer said, “That is what the
caucus instructed me to use this week”.

The “bigger point” here is that it has never been the
objective of the Democrats to reach any sort of compromise as much as it has
been their time tested strategy to demonize the opposition in the eyes of the
voters, in this case with a government shutdown. The bad news for the Dems this
time around is that the current Administration and the 111 th Congress put the
United States on the fast track to bankruptcy and “We the People” know it.
Recent polls suggest that the Dems should tread lightly as Americans do not
appear to be as gullible as they were in 1994.

Consequently, old political fools like Schumer had better
take a closer look at where we are and how we got here before that fast moving
train runs right over them.

In the interim, I want say Congrats to Kevin Harvick and

Considering my local dabbling and love of the sport, I do
get a lot of questions about NASCAR, mostly concerning what exactly is a
“stock car”. Well, for good or bad there is not much stock about a
stock car anymore except the brand name plates and a likeness in consideration
of a particular model. Through years of safety refinements related to increased
speeds and track fatalities, as well as an effort to bring all brands under a
strict and common template, what you see above is the modern stock car. With
the introduction of the new Nationwide pre-Sprint Cup series car however, there
does seem to be an effort to take the modern design and return some
“retro” lines to the two series cars. Personally, I welcome this
effort…

Gun Control

Ted for President!!!

Despite the fact that a school age child in the U.S. is
twice as likely to be killed by lightning than by gunfire, the Left Wing
fabricators continue to generalize, demonize and stereotype 2nd Amendment
supporters as “radical right wing”, “white supremacist”, gun toting murderers,
ever poised to harm our little ones. As a consequence, the fictitious passage
below was taken from a planned “active shooter scenario” to be played out at an
Iowa school.

“In the past 6 months, the City of Treynor and Treynor Community
School District has received a significant influx of minority residents,”
causing “controversy regarding national immigration policies as well as racial
tensions with a few embedded, typically silent, white supremacy affiliates.”

Based on those tensions, a white 18-year-old high school
senior who “has been seen with anti-immigration demonstrators” and whose family
“is known to be firearm enthusiasts, if not fanatics” starts a fight with a
group of minority students “blurting racial slurs and that he is tired of them
moving in and stealing jobs and money from Americans” then “pulls a handgun
from his waistband, shooting one of the minority students.”

A 17-year-old friend of the shooter then joins him in
“firing upon anyone in their path and chasing down anyone who is against
their ill-perceived stand,” the plan said.

Now, I challenge any reasonable parent to tell me this type
of vicious and irresponsible hyperbole does not become part of a young person’s
thinking process. The unfortunate truth is,,,, that’s the idea…!

Sadly, it was not until threats were received that this
particular “scenario” was finally scrapped. I have found that two things happen
when fools are allowed to promote a lie. The first is that the truth always
comes out. The second is that some knucklehead with an axe to grind will use
the lie to promote his/her own twisted ideology and then someone else gets
hurt. We’ll have to see how this one plays out. But with the sudden spike in
violence against police officers of late, this is not the time to be scaring
the daylights out of people with this type inflammatory rhetoric.

Firearms notes:

NOTE 1: Police Chiefs around the nation are sounding off to
the media that a recent surge in violence against officers is NOT the result of
some “manufactured” increase in “specialized weapons” and/or the
availability of high capacity ammunition magazines as the anti-gun crowd is
suggesting, but rather it reflects a segment of violent criminals directing
their assaults on police officers specifically, and for a variety of social and
economic reasons.

NOTE 2: I am not an expert on many things, but in this area
I recognize only one man with greater ability than my own, and I know he is
reading this and chuckling. While I may sound a bit presumptuous, it is in fact
the reason I am very comfortable stating that I would hope a teacher or school
administrator was appropriately trained and armed in the event of an
“active shooter” event at my sons school, God forbid. Having worn a
uniform for most of my adult life, I am familiar with the time frames involved
in law enforcement response. Reality has proven fatal in far too many of those
situations. That is just a simple fact…

Happy Anniversary

I recently did some homework on a piece floating around the
internet which showcases some health care statistics allegedly derived from the
“United Nation’s ‘International’ Health Organization”. These figures were said
to be listed in an article in the “Investor’s Business Daily”, a read I’m quite
fond of”. Anyway, after a bit of research I could find no such United Nations
agency, nor could I find the actually article in the IBD.

As a result, and with all the hoopla over the “Health Care
Law” 1 year anniversary, I decided not to print the stats as they clearly
support the argument against the new law, and I will not print that which I
cannot confirm, unlike the “Huffington Post”
.

I was however compelled to go back over some of my old posts
and also revisit many of the websites available to anyone who wishes to read
them. And while I am adamant about not rehashing the same stuff with nothing
new, suffice it to say that while certainly flawed in some areas of its
application, the U.S. healthcare system remains the envy of the world with
documented cases of folks from every corner of the planet seeking treatment
here. Survival rates vary from nation to nation depending on the illness, but
the U.S. retains an overall and substantial advantage.

All I have ever stressed and written on the matter is that
while there are areas to improve upon and even to restructure with regard to
cost and availability, a total government takeover was never the answer. Those
statistics are plain and without ambiguity. In every nation where it has been
enacted, universal healthcare costs have skyrocketed, and care has suffered.
For our part in the U.S., a truly fair and open debate was silenced by a super
majority in Congress, as their ultimate goal and that of our current POTUS was
always a “single payer system”. Consequently, the present law is a huge step in
that direction.

With any luck, the recent change in the political winds in Washington
and the flood of legal challenges from the States will stifle or defund the new
law. Inevitably, with our country in such precarious financial shape, and with
all of the outside pressure that continues to mount with each passing day, we
can ill afford to be burdened with yet another classroom experiment in Utopian
Socialism by this inexperienced Professor/President.

Infrastructure

I watched a show on the History Channel the other day that
highlighted our deteriorating infrastructure. It was an eye opening 1 hour look
at 50 years of neglect and decay and it made me think. We are losing the very
things that represent the exceptionalism which has made us the greatest super
power on the planet. In our rush to spend ourselves into bankruptcy by way of
monumental and unsustainable “entitlement spending”, we have cast a
blind eye to the real responsibilities of government, and failed miserably to hold
our local governments accountable as keepers of the public coffers. While
politicians have been busy diverting our hard earned tax dollars in the name of
“social justice”, pandering to and solidifying their voter blocks,
our country has been falling apart at the seams. Roads and bridges are
crumbling, levy’s, dams, sewers and water distribution pipes are rotting in
place as city and state agencies descend into insolvency, all the while looking
to higher taxes and even the feds for help. Considering our national dilemma
and debt, does this scare anyone???

The sobering message here people, is that if we do not wake

The POTUS

The President of The United States has the extraordinary
responsibility to direct the use of our military forces. That awesome
jurisdiction should never be taken lightly. So it is no wonder Americans are
asking what President Obama’s end game is in Libya. Why, in the midst of so
much strife in our own country, are we now engaged in what has apparently
developed into a civil war in another? And why do we hear so many conflicting
stories on the issue emanating from this Administration?

You will get no argument from me that Colonel Gadaffi should
be “eliminated” at the earliest possible convenience, if not just for his
murderous terrorist activities over the last 40 years, but for the manner in
which he is now punishing and slaughtering his own people. I have always and
will always believe we have a moral obligation as a nation to act in defense of
the oppressed around the world. It should also be noted, there are a myriad
and/or a combination of methods we might apply in any such endeavor.

With that said however, the “late to the game” entrance of
the Obama gang, along with the confusing and ambiguous explanation of our
efforts, smacks of the incompetency that often comes with inexperience and lack
of clear purpose. It is a fundamental must that our CIC have a full and
cognizant understanding of our creed, our Constitution and our place in this
world, before he engage the brave young souls of the United States Military in
battle. Instead, the POTUS has conjoined the “Bush Doctrine” and the “Classroom
Doctrine”, subsequently opening the door for a protracted and undefined
campaign that places the lives of our Soldiers and Airman in jeopardy.

There are many things a President must learn as he assumes
the mantle of “Leader of the Free World”, however those which I have mentioned
above are clear pre-requisites for the job. Regrettably, it appears they were
not met with the election of Barack Obama. Term limits and elections apply
here, both of which we have control over…

standards. One also has to wonder why almost 40% of the folks on the street who
were given the basic quiz below failed.

It is therefore incumbent on the good and decent teachers of
America to take back the education system in our country from the likes of
Richard Trumka and company before it is too late…

Bill Maher

In consideration of the sexist and vulgar comment he leveled
at Sarah Palin, “Let me be even clearer”, Bill Maher is a little, atheist,
ignorant and disrespectful pimp…

P.S.

To all the woman’s rights groups who have remained silent on
the matter, your credibility is right down there with Maher’s… You are all
frauds…

Claire McCaskill

I think it is absurd that anyone can be blind to the fact
they owe almost $300,000.00 in back taxes. Folks like you and I would go to
jail for that type of “oversight”. But such is the case with Senator
Claire McCaskill, D-Mo, concerning a plane that she co-owns and has not paid
any taxes on since 2007. Now I bring this up for two reasons, the first I have
just mentioned, that being the double standard that exists for members of
Congress and we lowly peasants. The second however, is while the focus should
be on the infraction and fair application of any penalty no matter your
“status”, Republicans would do well to understand that as we draw
closer to an election which will define our nation for generations to come,
they should be above “political reproach”.

My point here is far less complicated than I am making it,
but “let me be clear”  , “people in
glass houses best not throw stones”. There are clearly (some) Republicans who
may want to consider this analogy before attacking McCaskill, a very popular
Lefty, I might add…

For our part as “We the People”, let us scrutinize all of
our elected officials in ways we have not but should have, and to the best of
our ability, purge the halls of our governments, city, state and federal, of
those whose interests are not our own or are they in line with our
Constitutional ideals.

Libyan no fly zone

Donald Trump makes a great argument today. Why, when the
Arab League was so intent on a “no fly zone” over Libya, and just as
adamant about U.S. participation in that effort, don’t they pay for it??? Could
it be they are content to sit back and watch the United States bankrupt itself
out of existence???

110 TCM’s so far alone @ approximately $650 thousand – $1.2
million dollars per unit depending on the model and application. (Both were
used.)

Libya air strikes

The world has always looked to the United States as the
standard-bearer of the Liberty Torch, the nation out front on issues of human
freedom, and the steadfast leader in the battles to those ends. Now I know
there are some that feel this is a bad thing and that we are “no better” than
any other nation, but this is where they miss the point. For America, It has
always been about the willingness to sacrifice in the face of great adversity
to both advance and then vindicate your cause, and this is what the world
recognizes as “exceptional” about us whether publicly or quietly. Throughout
our history that idealistic approach, drenched in the blood of both Patriots
and tyrants has freed the conquered around the world and saved millions of
innocent lives. So when I hear our President all but beg forgiveness from his
Progressive pals on the issue of military force as a means to thwart a
murderous dictator/terrorist, it is disheartening in the most disgraceful of
terms, and a slap in the face to every Soldier out there with the American Flag
on his/her arm.

In his haste to distance himself from the very doctrine he
chided the Bush Administration for, and now must acknowledge as a painful but
necessary reality of the office he holds, the POTUS has both diminished and
embarrassed our great country once again. His lack of understanding of who we
are as a nation and why the United States is seen in the light that it is by
friend and foe alike is an example of a misplaced classroom ideology and the
danger that comes along when it is applied in the “real world”.

Mr. President, no matter what is said in front of the
cameras or in the partisan back rooms of the United Nations Building, and/or
how you may perceive it, the world does not look to America to simply be part
of “broad coalition”, but rather they look for us to be morally and
idealistically out front when the battle begins, and to provide the strong and
decisive confidence of knowing the mission is right and just in the name of
humanity.

I have unshakable faith and confidence in the ability of the
United States Military and our partners in the cause to carry the fight to the
Gaddafi regime, and I pray for a speedy end to the terror that has existed in
Libya for some 40 + years now. I do however hope that our President will
dispense with the need to explain away a decision he should have first led on,
and then advanced two weeks ago.

Japan

9 year old Toshihito Aisawa has returned to shelter after
shelter every day since the devastating earth quake and tsunami struck in Japan
a week ago. He holds a sign that says he is looking for his mom and dad, and
that he will return the next day at the same time. He last saw them as they
were swept away by the giant wave in a family vehicle.

The story of this young boy symbolizes in many ways, the
unimaginable tragedy and loss which has engulfed the “Land of the Rising Sun”.
A nation which prides itself in quiet dignity and the code of discipline and
culture is teetering on the brink of total collapse.

Again, please help in whatever way you can. And to whoever might
read this and may be in a position to provide information or assistance, if you
know of Yoshihito’s family, (mom, dad, grandmother and two cousins), or if you
have knowledge of any extended family for this little boy, please seek him/them
out through whatever channels are available to you immediately. Otherwise, and
if it were possible, I would take him here without a second thought. Along
those lines, we must assume that with a death toll which may eventually number
in the tens of thousands, there will be orphans. To those who know that you
can, please help the children. This means all of you philanthropic fat cats at
both ends of the ideological spectrum: Soros, Buffett, Gates and so on…. This
is not an international issue, it is a human issue…

The crisis in Japan will only grow in the foreseeable
future, presenting challenges like none that we have ever faced. I suppose that
in this search for worldwide economic and other recovery, our compassion and
actions on behalf of our fellow man might even bring the favor of a power
greater than we. With that said and for those who may believe, it is growing
harder and harder to ignore what appears to be the message of our human
failures and shortcomings.
