I remain a bit confused over this terror trial thing. Let me get this straight, the Administration contends that American justice shall put on trial, convict and then execute the so called “criminals” of 9/11.
Now isn’t the hallmark of our system of justice, that there exists the presumption of innocence until guilt beyond a reasonable doubt is established? And are there not safeguards in place to prevent folks from doing exactly what the President and AG Holder are doing right now by saturating the airwaves with the notion that convictions and subsequent executions are a foregone conclusion?
I am not a lawyer, but this is too easy. Any Judge worth his law degree throws this out of court on day one. This is why we should never put over educated, under – experienced ideologues in charge of anything related to the national security of this Country. Our personal safety and that of our children is always compromised when we experiment in this fashion.
Send the (enemy combatants) back to G-Bay, bring them before a military tribunal, and conduct an appropriate military trial. This is the only justice these terrorists are entitled too.

I’m not sure if I’m ready to call America’s recent awakening another “Reagan Revolution”, but I like some of the components. While I still have great trepidation over what I see as our young folks going forward with a twisted and revisionist spin on their Country, (as is being taught in modern academia at all levels), I am heartened when I hear Democrats and Republicans alike acknowledging, that to debate the issues of the day is one thing, but fundamentally changing what America is, and represents to the world is another thing all together.
As I have said many times, the (Liberal-Revisionist-Socialist) will lose in the “arena of ideas”, or for that matter, “the court of public opinion” every time. Even the most hardened of political opponents, who truly believe that our great Nation is unique in the world, can see the idealist (Obama Doctrine) as a bad thing. But this is exactly why they package their messengers as quasi mainstream and purveyors of “hope and change”. Having said that, protection of our great founding documents and the freedoms they espouse, is paramount above all things if we mean to leave our way of life to our legacy.

The President tried mightily to put his best spin on the 9.7% unemployment number which came out today, but even Mr. Obama had to admit there is a long road ahead. Clearly President Obama read all of the sobering stats that went with the report, like the fact that it didn’t include those who had simply stopped looking for work or those who had accepted “underemployment”. The figure also did not include the thousands of jobs that have been “eliminated” by employers and not counted. Most sobering of all, were the leading economists who revised initial figures to reflect much higher total job loss for this recession than had been previously reported, adding that the unemployment rate would likely rise to 11.5 % when many of the temporary and government workers hired for things like infrastructure and the census eventually went back to the unemployment lines.
I am not trying to be a kill joy here, but we must face facts. The Stimulus plan was a failure in every way it was intended to help. And now instead of using the remaining unspent funds, the President is pressuring Congress for still more new stimulus money in the form of a “jobs bill”. What???
This is what I mean when I say that “elections have consequences”. In order to stave off the total collapse of our economy in the years ahead, we must be in this Administrations collective (face) right to the very end of their time in office. It is our only hope.

The United States is poised to go down the road that Japan did back in the 90’s through the early 2000’s. Moody’s, the company which rates the credit worthiness of Nations has warned that our Country suffers from a ballooning debt that will ultimately reduce its AAA credit rating around the world. Make no mistake fellow Patriots, this is a warning sign not altogether unlike a terrorist warning. For inevitably, an unstable U.S. credit rating and economy will almost certainly lead to some form of unrest here and globally. These types of situations are breeding grounds for political and social strife. History shows us, (inter) national crises are almost always preceded by economic uncertainty and/or collapse.
Of today’s scenario in the U.S., turns out that even the heavy hitter banking community folks like Moody’s have acknowledged that while the debt has been rising over the last 10 years, under the Obama Administration it is now “accelerating” at an “unsustainable and dangerous” rate that is obvious and frightening to the rest of the world.
American approach:
There are no more excuses people. This particular “hope and change” has been a complete fraud. We must remove these people at the ballot box and save our Republic. As I have said many times before, we are not perfect. We are and have been however, a beacon of hope and stability unlike any before or after, to the rest of the world for over two century’s. We’ve sacrificed mightily in both blood and treasure for the future of not only our own children, but those of the rest of the world.
Do not succumb to the diatribe of the global elitists who know nothing of that sacrifice, honor, or patriotism. Do not be taken in by those who tell you that we must re-make ourselves in the eyes of the rest of the world, for this is the trick of the globalist / (Socialist). Yes, we are different. We are separate and apart. We are exceptional, and it is this exceptionalism that has made us the hope of the oppressed around planet earth for generations. Moreover, a (factual) reading of our founding documents and history tell us all we need know in this regard…
Finally, do not listen to the class envy underground who seek to drive wedges between us by exclaiming someone else is to blame for your lot in life. This is a time for perseverance, resilience and fortitude, not unlike many in our past when “We the people” pulled our great country back from the brink, not the government. It is a time to do our homework and be informed, not influenced. So keep getting up and dusting off, grab life by the horns and exercise your God given rights to “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness”. Only when we do these things may we begin to address the problems of our day…
Have a great one! God Bless…

The Obama Administration would have us believe that all of its recently released budget woes are “Bush related”. Now I will be the first to admit that GW faltered at the end of his Presidency, a fact he readily admits. But that’s not the whole story and they know it…
GW added approximately 2.5 trillion dollars to the public debt through 2008, a fact that we ought not be proud of. In Bush’s defense, he was fighting two wars and retooling a sleeping nation to battle a very different enemy. Now there are those who would say we should not have fought the wars. These folks would certainly have been interned in Concentration camps or been speaking German back in the 1940’s. Moving along, Bush blundered greatly at the end and succumbed to yes, DEMOCRATIC PRESSURE, to fund the bail outs at that time. This was a fundamental mistake on his part. Simply put, he miscalculated long term affects verses short term accolades.
Cut to the present and a totally different animal. This Presidents new budget is an exercise in left wing nuttiness that our great grandchildren will be paying for. It is jam packed with government spending on a scale never before seen. President Obama and his gang of financial “experts” are convinced they can spend us out of recession and job loss, despite the mounting evidence that his current anti capitalist policy initiatives are already beginning to fail. From 2010 through 2016, this budget would lay on an additional 4.9 trillion to an already unsustainable debt. This will certainly break us.
We will attack this in more detail as the budgetary process unfolds, but suffice it to say, Americans are becoming more and more disenchanted with “hope and change” as defined by the Obama Administration, and they have come to recognize this monumental debt as our Nations most pressing issue. At the end of the day, “We the People” understand what our Country is and what it represents to our children’s future. Appropriately, we know that we cannot sit idly by and allow an out of control government to steal that future away.

Rush Limbaugh’s health-care lies
I want to thank Dr. Neil Brandon for taking time out of his busy schedule to call Rush Limbaugh to task (“Reality check for Limbaugh on health care,” Commentary, Jan. 13). Fueled by his wealthy Texas oilmen friends, Limbaugh, ever the buffoon, bullies his way using simplistic pronouncements that tug at the root of people’s fears, and he expounds on solutions that can be supported only by extreme ignorance of the facts. Dr. Brandon gave first-hand information about the health crises that ordinary people face every day, and his exposure to real-world issues gives him credibility that Limbaugh can only dream about.
I hope that Dr. Brandon’s courage, understanding and compassion will pave a path for more people to speak out.
Richard F. Santopietro Providence
Response:
Rush Limbaugh is an entertainer (Ideological Pundit) and readily admits that he is not a medical professional with all of the specific health care answers. Of Mr. Santopietro’s 1/31 letter to the Editor about Mr. Limbaugh, I can only say that once again the left is misrepresenting and politicizing an argument they claim shouldn’t be political. The United States Constitution preamble references: “that in order to form a more perfect union”, the writers should draft a document that would promote not provide for the general welfare of the people. There was certainly a great deal of thought that went into this wording and with good cause. The Founders wanted to be clear about the fact that it should never be government’s responsibility to provide “cradle to grave” entitlement processes for its people, as (even our own) history tells us that this eventually leads to government encroachment and inevitably worsens any situation.
That said, we must acknowledge that government can play a “limited role” in addressing what we would all agree is a health care system, (not care) problem. Rush’s premise is simply that the current offering from Pelosi, Reid and company is a monetary disaster in the making that will add to an already unsustainable budgetary course on track to bankrupt our grandchildren. Additionally, the legislation is strictly an ideology driven “throw money at the problem” solution with no mention of Tort reform, interstate insurance sales, malpractice insurance reform or a myriad of other cost cutting solutions offered by Republicans, and dismissed out of hand by this President and the Democrats in Congress.
Now it’s always easy to pontificate about those in crisis and condemn anyone with a different approach as cold, out of touch and without compassion (obviously not knowing much about Rush’s real life story), but this will never solve the problem.

The recent awarding of a lucrative federal contract to a company owned by a financial contributor to the Obama presidential campaign — without competitive bidding — “violates” President Obama’s many campaign pledges to crack down on the practice, a top State Department official told Fox News.
OK Folks, now I wouldn’t want to be accused of piling on here, but this is now becoming quite an embarrassment. That said, I will not sit here and deny the practice by many who preceded the President. However, this clearly flies in the face of everything he campaigned on and vowed to change about “Washington”. I mean, he devoted a great deal of time the other night on national television pontificating about the need to change the “Washington status quo”.
That must start with you Mr. President. For at the end of the day, “the buck stops with you”. Is that not the Truman analogy you used just last week?

“I am not an ideologue.” Is the President joking or does he expect us to believe that? President Obama met with GOP leaders in Baltimore on Friday in what was a first of its kind, in that it has never been televised before. Mr. Obama stepped up and did his best Potomac two step before a crowd of testy Republicans, and the show down was worth the billing.
GOP House and Senate Folks hammered the President about everything from the “stimulus” to health care, and he fired right back. The problem came not when he tried to defend his decision making processes by claiming he could not find one “credible economist” to support the ideas from Republicans he originally claimed he never received, but rather when he made the incredible and frankly unbelievable ideologue comment.
This from a man who’s entire adult life has been an exercise in learning the liberal/socialist codes from many an instructor (Marx, Ayers, Wright, Alinsky). A man who has, through his own admissions, words and actions, denounced so much of what is our America, to include the Constitution itself, referring to one of the two most sacred founding documents as a “charter of negative liberties”.
Every time this President sets out to right the ship, the truth forces the bow down once again and reinforces my belief that we will not fully heal the wounds of his time in office for many years to come.

Fox saved me a whole lot a time today and here are some of the highlights. This was the most “factually challenged” SOTU Speech in history! And for all you “Fox haters” that attack my mailbox regularly, I have checked, (as you can), all of the below using the CBO, both the Senate and House versions of health care legislation, and other Federal watchdog groups. Do not disagree unless you are willing to do your homework!
OBAMA: “Starting in 2011, we are prepared to freeze government spending for three years. Spending related to our national security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security will not be affected. But all other discretionary government programs will. Like any cash-strapped family, we will work within a budget to invest in what we need and sacrifice what we don’t.”
THE FACTS: The anticipated savings from this proposal would amount to less than one percent of the deficit — and that’s if the president can persuade Congress to go along.
Obama is a convert to the cause of broad spending freezes. In the presidential campaign, he criticized Republican opponent John McCain for suggesting one. “The problem with a spending freeze is you’re using a hatchet where you need a scalpel,” he said a month before the election. Now, Obama wants domestic spending held steady in most areas where the government can control year to year costs. The proposal is similar to McCain’s.
——
OBAMA: “I’ve called for a bipartisan fiscal commission, modeled on a proposal by Republican Judd Gregg and Democrat Kent Conrad. This can’t be one of those Washington gimmicks that lets us pretend we solved a problem. The commission will have to provide a specific set of solutions by a certain deadline. Yesterday, the Senate blocked a bill that would have created this commission. So I will issue an executive order that will allow us to go forward, because I refuse to pass this problem on to another generation of Americans.”
THE FACTS: Any commission that Obama creates would be a weak substitute for what he really wanted — a commission created by Congress that could force lawmakers to consider unpopular remedies to reduce the debt, including curbing politically sensitive entitlements like Social Security and Medicare. That idea crashed in the Senate this week, defeated by equal numbers of Democrats and Republicans. Any commission set up by Obama alone would lack authority to force its recommendations before Congress, and would stand almost no chance of success.
——
OBAMA: Discussing his health care initiative, he said: “Our approach would preserve the right of Americans who have insurance to keep their doctor and their plan.”
THE FACTS: The Democratic legislation now hanging in limbo on Capitol Hill aims to keep people with employer-sponsored coverage — the majority of Americans under age 65 — in the plans they already have. But Obama can’t guarantee g point of contention for the president. In December, the administration reported that recipients of direct assistance from the government created or saved about 650,000 jobs. The number was based on self-reporting by recipients and some of the calculations were shown to be in error.
The Congressional Budget Office has been much more guarded than Obama in characterizing the success of the stimulus plan. In November, it reported that the stimulus increased the number of people employed by between 600,000 and 1.6 million “compared with what those values would have been otherwise.” It said the ranges “reflect the uncertainty of such estimates.” And it added: “It is impossible to determine how many of the reported jobs would have existed in the absence of the stimulus package.”
——
OBAMA: He called for action by the White House and Congress “to do our work openly, and to give our people the government they deserve.”
THE FACTS: Obama skipped past a broken promise from his campaign — to have the negotiations for health care legislation broadcast on C-SPAN “so that people can see who is making arguments on behalf of their constituents, and who are making arguments on behalf of the drug companies or the insurance companies.” Instead, Democrats in the White House and Congress have conducted the usual private negotiations, making multibillion-dollar deals with hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and other stakeholders behind closed doors. Nor has Obama lived up consistently to his pledge to ensure that legislation is posted online for five days before it’s acted upon.
——
OBAMA: “We will continue to go through the budget line by line to eliminate programs that we can’t afford and don’t work. We’ve already identified $20 billion in savings for next year.”
THE FACTS: Identifying savings is far from achieving them. If the past is any guide, little will result from this exercise because Congress routinely rejects the White House’s suggested spending cuts.
——
OBAMA: “The United States and Russia are completing negotiations on the farthest-reaching arms control treaty in nearly two decades.”
THE FACTS: Despite insisting early last year that they would complete the negotiations in time to avoid expiration of the 1991 Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty in early December, the U.S. and Russia failed to do so. And while officials say they think a deal on a new treaty is within reach, there has been no breakthrough. A new round of talks is set to start Monday. One important sticking point: disagreement over including missile defense issues in a new accord. If completed, the new deal may arguably be the farthest-reaching arms control treaty since the original 1991 agreement. An interim deal reached in 2002 did not include its own rules on verifying nuclear reductions.
——
OBAMA: Drawing on classified information, he claimed more success than his predecessor at killing terrorists: “And in the last year, hundreds of al-Qaida’s fighters and affiliates, including many senior leaders, have been captured or killed — far more than in 2008.”
THE FACTS: It is an impossible claim to verify. Neither the Bush nor the Obama administration has published enemy body counts, particularly those targeted by armed drones in the Pakistan-Afghan border region. The pace of drone attacks has increased dramatically in the last 18 months, according to congressional officials briefed on the secret program.

From the point where he lauded the $2.19 per day he put into my pocket (Vs. the $4.00 he took out in the form of indirect banking fees, hidden purchase taxes, earmarks, and a host of other sneaky Washington back room pay offs), to the unprecedented attack on the Supreme Court Justices sitting in the audience, blowing (separation of powers) right out of the water, to the tone deaf, defiant and confrontational blame Bush attitude, along with dozens of statements requiring a fact check session that will take me all day, I am left with one very specific question tonight:

College football phenom Tim Tebow is shaking up more than just the opposing team’s defense these days. Tebow, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback for the University of Florida, is not afraid to stand up for what he believes, and neither is his mom. Tebow’s mom suffered a serious infection while on a mission trip in the Philippines at the time of her fifth pregnancy. Against the advice of her doctors, who suggested an abortion, Pam Tebow opted to go ahead with the pregnancy, a decision that Tim certainly celebrates with good reason.
Now the pro-choice folks are having a hissy fit because CBS will air a Super Bowl commercial spot featuring Pam Tebow’s story.
This to me is clearly a case of “don’t shoot the messenger”. All indications are that the piece will not be ideologically driven, but rather a story of life which allows the viewer to draw a conclusion. Seems very American, and in keeping with my “let the people decide” view point.
Now if the pro abortion crowd would like to submit an ad featuring the goodness and value in the cessation of pregnancy, I would expect that CBS should air it as well.
I’m not being facetious here Folks, I am just suggesting a more accurate and honest debate concerning abortion is certainly necessary at this point after Roe V. Wade. To dismiss the medical facts and disguise them behind the curtain of “choice”, is disingenuous to say the least.
Look, is CBS right on this one? I don’t know,,, I have not seen the spot. However I will say, that if the add does not make a specific reference to a political party or ideology based group, then I think that the conversation is a good and potentially productive one.

United States Military personnel are the bravest and finest (volunteer) force on the planet! In the face of overwhelming death and destruction, they received and carried out the Presidents order to get to Haiti and help in the most proficient manner possible. Upon their arrival, and despite countless logistical and physical hurdles, they established a foothold and began tasks including everything from initiating a 3 man air traffic control system that rivals most 3rd world country airports, to erecting field hospitals, to search and rescue for victims, to the distribution of food and water and so much more.
Now do these complex humanitarian missions involving dozens of other nations always go as planned and proceed without glitches, of course not. But if I hear one more euro trash scumbag, or third world dictator “wanna be”, punk off this Country for our efforts on behalf of the Haitian people, my head is gonna explode!
Message to the Italian moron official who called our mission to Haiti “a pathetic show for T.V.”; if it weren’t for the United States Military, you and the rest of Europe would be speaking German right now. Furthermore, the only thing pathetic is the poor excuse for a country you live in. So much beauty and culture squandered on a misguided and naïve populous. And to Hugo Chavez, the rather plump egomaniacal pervert dictator of Venezuela, I only pray that some heroic Venezuelan Patriot takes matters into his own hands, and soon. Maybe then that picturesque Country could reach its full potential.
President Obama may have ulterior motives for many things he does, but I believe he is genuine in his recognition of this tragedy as something that requires our collective response as human beings. So keep up the great work men and women of the U.S. Military, for at the end of the day those who understand, know that if it were not for the strength of this Nation and the professionalism and commitment of its Military, many more graves would certainly have been filled around the globe over the last two centuries.

Many pundits out there are assuming that Obama will “pivot” and move to the center after the week he has had. With the State Of The Union on Wednesday, I guess we shall see. I personally think he is incapable of:
A. Admitting he was wrong. +
B. Admitting he was wrong.
Did I say that twice?? Look, this President is not interested in what the opposition thinks if it’s not in line with his ideology. Speaking of ideology, Brit Hume had an interesting and spot on analysis of the Presidents dilemma. While debating on one of the Sunday shows whether or not “We the People” were upset about Mr. Obama’s ideology driven policies, or whether it was simply anger over the fact that so many are hurting, Hume got it right when he said that every leading indicator has shown consistently that the U.S. is traditionally a Center right (Conservative) Country. He added though, that Americans can be lulled into acceptance of a left leaning President if things are going well. However in Obama’s case, things are clearly tanking and Americans are ready to blame all things left, including the President. So this tidal wave of anti administration may well carry over in a big way to November.
This is not to say that the Republicans can be complacent, and they had better come up with a cohesive and legitimate alternative message, or run as the lesser of two evils, which is never a good thing.
My (Pundit) prediction: Obama comes out swinging and sticking to his “Bash Bush Doctrine”. Get ready for a political blood bath the like of which has not been seen in Washington in some time…

Look up sycophant in the dictionary and I’ll bet you’ll see this guy’s picture. Mr. Goldstein’s assertion that “leading economists” agree the recession was shortened by this President and his spend happy Congress is nothing short of outrageous. Truth be told, there are as many or more economists that say, had we done nothing the economy would be in far better shape at this point and our debt would be lower. Moreover, there are still others who contend that our current rate of spending is unsustainable, and that if we changed course today it would take a generation to recover, if we could recover at all. I kinda fall in line with this camp. The numbers are just too ugly.
When asked about the future of the health care bills, Goldstein went on to say, “we have to move forward, we are the only industrialized nation on the planet without (universal health care)” aka: (government health care). Message to this idiot: THAT’S A GOOD THING!
The other nations he speaks of enjoy the wonderful benefits of massive cost overruns, marginalized care, and get to watch their people flock to the United States to receive treatments they would die waiting for at home. This is not debatable and this jerk knows it.
My point here is that this is not the Clinton White House. There will be no “midterm course correction”. The President hit the campaign trail once again today, or at least it seemed that way. I thought the election was over. I thought he was supposed to be leading. It’s been a year hasn’t it?
Well I guess the President didn’t get the memo… Today he was in Ohio, awash in fresh unemployment numbers that had to make him a bit queasy taking the stage in an area so devastated by job loss, bashing the opposition and still offering not one iota of proof that anything he has done to date has had any positive affect on the economy at all. Even in the face of the great Massachusetts upset, he vowed to “never stop fighting for you”, claiming, “It’s not about me”.
Nope, he just descended into his campaign comfort zone where specifics and results are not necessary, and the Country is left to wonder. Unemployment up in 43 states today, jobs “created or saved” in government sectors only with private industry left to wonder if the President intends to eliminate free enterprise altogether, and a proposal to fine banks to recoup money they have already repaid. (You know who’s gonna get that back in the form of astronomical fees). Consequently, the Stock Market has been in full retreat for the last few days.
I hate to beat a dead horse, but for those who simply don’t want to admit it, the writing is painted on the wall in billboard size. This guy is a stone cold idealist, who believes in his heart that he must rob from the rich and give to the poor. This broken and old feel good approach will destroy Capitalism every time, and that is just fine with him and his Chrony’s. The problem is, it will destroy all of us as well.
Your right though Mr. President about one thing, it’s not about you. It’s about our Country and the growing number of voters who see you as an empty suit, preaching a tired political message with no tangible results. The United States is a great country Sir. We will recover in time if you let us. Throwing money at the problem has clearly failed as we told you it would, yet you are clinging to this anchor like a big barnacle and bankrupting our grandchildren’s future.
Do we need to fix health care? You bet. Does Wall Street need to be accountable? Of course. But these entities are integral parts of our Nation that need to be fixed not obliterated and taken over by a bloated Federal Government already trillions in debt. At the end of the day, the majority of Americans know that (our way is the best way), and that to change it is to live in the land of Hugo Chavez eventually. History has shown us time and again where that road leads. Unfortunately, we have leaders in Washington with the intention to do that very thing.
The good news is we are focused on them now, and they are squirming under the watchful eye of “We the People”. This is what was on display in job starved Ohio today. President Obama was clearly flailing after a serious body blow to his policy agenda this past Tuesday. He is beginning to acknowledge that the honeymoon is over and that the people elected him to fix America, NOT change it! And he don’t like it..
Again, the only one without a tie… Whats that about Mr. President? Is it casual Friday??
No pictures please,,,

A picture tells a thousand words. This was certainly the case when Scott Brown met with Senate Majority Leader (WH) Harry Reid yesterday. Senator Reid was visibly aggravated even with the notion that he had to sit and acknowledge the Senator Elect at all. The look on his face was priceless, and I can’t find a single photo of it on the net. Another example of the bias media. There are countless photos of Scott Browns trip to the capital, but nothing of the obvious tense and uncomfortable one on one between the Majority Leader and the new political Superstar. See Fox News for the video, as usual… Maybe some will be out today…

Barely 24 hours after Lt. Colonel Scott Brown sent a shot across President Obama’s bow, Mr. Obama shot back blaming, you guessed it, GW. It is actually getting quite comical now. When asked about Brown’s stunning victory in Kennedy Country, the President compared Brown being swept into office to his own meteoric rise, and added that the people of MA and around the Country were “angry” over, not the last year or two but rather the last 8 years.
OK Sir, when exactly will it be your turn to share responsibility for,,,,, ANYTHING? Like maybe adding trillions to our debt with a failed stimulus, or maybe 10% unemployment you and your devout followers told us would not go above 8%, and now say might go as high as 12%? Or maybe the emboldening of our enemies, not to mention the cold shoulder from our friends as well? And why is it that a visit from you these days seems to be the kiss of death to Democratic Candidates. And worst of all, Bush’s poll numbers are fast catching your own.
Memo to the President: Enough with the blame game….! It’s beyond old… We need jobs!

Are you all hearing about the exchange between Sen. Arlen Specter (D) PA and Rep. Michele Bachmann (R) Minn., on a local Philly radio station yesterday? Well suffice it to say, specter is not making up any much needed points for his re-election campaign. Seems he made a mean spirited reference to Bachmann’s gender when the point counter point got a little testy to the effect of, “act like a lady”.
Listen up Good Folks of Philly, home of the best Cheese Steak on the planet, please remove this bum from office. As for you Mr. Specter, your complete lack of even a single ounce of integrity and/or conviction on something as simple as your political beliefs this past year, is all the evidence we need of your character. You could not act like a man and jumped from what you thought was a sinking ship over to the winning team. Make no mistake, your time in office is now measured in months. And if you still don’t get it, you ain’t no Ted Kennedy buddy. So it will be worse for you. So long!
P.S. Arlen, Michele Bachmann is most certainly a lady…

The spin machine is in full swing as we new it would be, but this one is beyond spin. The idea that a Republican, espousing the ideology that Scott Brown is espousing, could take Ted Kennedy’s old seat in the Senate is nothing short of a political tsunami.
“We the People” are awake and paying attention. The Revolution that will be 2010 is in full swing. This means that we now surge ahead. We cannot sit on our achievements and become complacent, though I suspect this will not be the case. I witnessed patriotism and enthusiasm that I have never seen last night, with the one common theme being Lt. Colonel Browns assertion that the seat of power belongs to the people.
Events such as these give me hope… Congratulations again Scott. More than just Massachusetts is celebrating today.

In all the confusion and excitement of this special election eve, I have been remiss in my quest to blog the other issues of the day.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of what I like to call “passionate faith”. To hear him speak to the ages is to hear a man who was dedicated to the human condition, black, white or otherwise, and his murder was evidence of mankind’s continued resistance to the change and betterment of that human condition. There will most likely not be another like him.
I know this drips with sad pessimism, but we only need look to the so called keepers of the civil rights movement today, Sharpton, Jackson, etc…
Rest in peace MLK. We will continue to work towards the dream…

The President brought his unique brand of campaigning to the Bay State today, but It may be falling on deaf ears. Pointing, pontificating and blaming a party no longer in power for your political failings is getting old Mr. President. Not surprisingly, he picked a university setting to do it in though… Way to whip up the young and uniformed Sir… Anyway, I was most struck by his earlier speech at a church in Vermont, where the Presidents trusted teleprompter seemed to fail as he drifted into what sounded at times, like a drunken I hate America presentation by Reverend Wright, albeit with his usual arrogant “I’m from the government and I’m here to help routine”.
I noticed something more though that gave me pause. As the President appeared to ad-lib for a few moments, his shifting voice and demeanor gave a quick glimpse into what this man is truly all about. Now I’m not gonna trash the President just for the sake of doing it for all to read, but I am now convinced like never before that Mr. Obama is in way over his head and is foundering. Moreover, he is complaining all the way down that it is everyone’s fault but his, from those nasty Republicans (who have less power than they have had in the last 100 years), to the Congress, to yes, “We the People” who just don’t get it.
Well I’ve got a flash for you Sir, today I realized, maybe for the first time, or maybe because I wanted to believe you would eventually awaken to the reality and responsibility of the office, that not only do YOU not get it, but also that this is (so the wrong time) to have someone like YOU leading this country. This was a huge mistake, and many are only now beginning to see it…
I think that it is time for all of us to shift gears a bit and start thinking about November in a different way. Not only do we have to elect a new and Constitutionally educated and dedicated Congress, but they must be elected on the premise and promise that they will endeavor to roll back the nightmare agenda that this man is piling on us. It is not enough to bring about “change”, but rather we must fix the monumental damage that has already occurred and will occur in the months ahead. Make no mistake, this will not be easy. It will literally take years to fix this mess, maybe even decades. But we must look at this through the Constitutional prism and start somewhere. When you scope the big picture and long term prospects for the Country, we simply have no choice.
I want to write more about “beyond Obama”, and addressing the even bigger picture of the true role of the Federal Government in our lives as outlined in our Constitution, but I will do that in the coming months. We just have so much on our plates, much more than I had imagined.
Oh, and at the risk of sounding petty, would you please put on a tie??

John Kerry (D) MA calls him a “Swift Boater”, Chuck Schumer (D) NY says he is a “right wing Tea Bagger”, and President Obama is coming to town tomorrow. Sounds to me like the Dems are in full panic mode. You always know this when they start hurling baseless accusations and calling the opposition names, typical of a party that loses in the arena of ideas consistently.
Truth be told, Martha Coakley is an unimpressive candidate with a huge ego and strange sense of entitlement. She has shot herself in the foot a dozen or so times on the issues and has consistently faltered (one on one) against Scott Brown. Add to this the fact that the voters in Massachusetts (correctly spelled) seem to have become a voice for people around the Nation who are fed up with business as usual in Washington.
Lt. Colonel Brown is spot on when he says that Ted Kennedy’s old seat did not belong to him, nor does it belong to the Democratic Party, it belongs to the people.
I think I see real change on the horizon. This leadership has awoken the true sleeping giant. Vote Scott Brown!

The President recently stated in a speech to Congressional Democrats on the Hill, that he “felt their pain” regarding health care legislation. He also said he see’s the polls and reads a stack from the 40,000 letters per day he receives at the WH opposing the bills. Gulp…
If this is true, and he is still preparing to ram this whopper down our throats, what does it say about our Representative Government today? What does it say about the will of the people and what the founders envisioned for this Country? What does it say about those who we have sent to Washington to serve in our stead when they can ignore us with such arrogance?
I pray I’m right, but I think its about to get even hotter in Washington…
P.S.
The President also referenced reading the occasional mean spirited blog that was all about party and not Country… Do you think he meant me??

The destruction is complete. The human cost is hard to comprehend. We must do, as we always do, put in motion the great power and resources of the United States so we may help the souls in Haiti. Take a moment and send what monetary support you can. The Red Cross and Catholic Relief Fund are a couple that I have personal experience with and am confident the money will get to the affected.
As we do what God would expect of us in this type of situation, I can’t help but be aware of how vulnerable nations that have been subjected to so much political strife, and their people so constrained in their freedom and worth, truly are. I fear politicizing something so horrific, but there is simply no excuse for any government that would allow its people to live in such abject poverty for so long. While I’m aware of the fractured Haitian governments long history of upheaval, I think it speaks volumes about our necessary promotion of God given human freedom around the world. Sadly, it’s only at times such as these that our eyes are open wide.

Alert!! There are grumblings that the majority in the Senate will not certify the election of Military JAG Scott Brown until after the health care vote, should he pull off the greatest political upset in U.S. history. Lt. Colonel Brown is vying to win the Senate seat of the late Ted Kennedy. A victory here will drive a stake through the health care bill, and moreover torpedo Barack Obama’s Presidency, and they know it.
With this in mind, you all should understand, that failure by the criminals on Capitol Hill to enact the will of “We the People” as required within the structured time frame and the rules, will be the most blatant indication to date as to the intention of the Democrats in Congress.
Now I know I’m getting ahead of myself, and we should never underestimate the complacency, and “as long as I get mine” attitude of some of the Folks in Kennedy’s old district, but it is still worth noting how quickly and without hesitation the Dems will move to circumvent the will of the people. To those in Massachusetts who truly desire change for the good of their families futures, take back control!! Vote Scott Brown!!

It is certainly worth noting that in the absence of any current symbolic offering such as the “Contract with America” of 94, it is always plausible that Republicans could blow the best opportunity they’ve had in some time to turn this Country around. It is just as noteworthy that far more is at stake this time to be sure. I have said, and will continue to say, that the Republican Party must return to its roots and present a unified and effective solution to all things Obama or they will not achieve the gains they hope for.
Every reputable poll out there right now shows America is reawakening to its Conservative foundations, and rejecting the leftist attempts to fundamentally change the Country. The Republicans will not advance their cause by offering the Democratic/Obama way, with a 25% off sale. This is a time for clear and bold differences to be apparent to the American voter, and if Republicans can convey that clarity of message on Election Day, victory is assured.
P.S.
This does not apply to my home state of Rhode Island, as we are simply too far gone. RI stands as a monumental example of what a left wing Democratic Juggernaut can do a state and its people over time.
