Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas has been cleared of any wrong doing in the case of the “Jihadist murderer dirt bag” with the fat lip. This is a good start, but keep your letters and emails coming so we may continue to “influence” this worthy argument to the favor of the remaining hero’s.
Now we hear the creators of “South Park” are under threat of violence after it was leaked that there would be a reference to “Allah” in one of their shows. Now I’m not a fan of South Park, but I understand that even though the (Comedy Central)agreed to censor the piece, the threats continue.
And for those who caught this on “The Factor”, message to Bill O Reilly and the rest of the middle of the road media types who are willing to give these killers a pass on the “provocation clause”: this crap must stop! By God if progressives get a pass on depicting Christ smoking crack and cussing under the guise of “freedom of speech”, then we better be prepared to “tune up” any individual who would pervert his/her religion of “peace” into a warped and somehow perceived license to murder.
Enough!!! These criminal murderers are enemies of humanity, and we must be united in our action to rid the world of them…!

Mollohan’s loss in W. Virginia is certainly a sign of things to come. Bennett in Utah last week is also indicative of the anti-incumbent and also the anti Obama sentiment out there right now. Exit polls are showing a growing number of folks voicing there displeasure with the Presidents policies and anyone who supports them, Democrat of Republican.

Looks like Britain has finally seen the error of its ways. The voters in England sent Brown packing and brought forward a “Tory”, David Cameron, in the hopes that he can turn around their failing Nation. Cameron campaigned on the principals of strong family and Conservative values.

The fact that Nancy Pelosi couldn’t find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight is a moot point. The idea that she lifted the liberal created “barrier between church and state” and made illegal immigration a religious matter today is nothing short of some of the most hypocritical stuff I’ve heard out there lately. This poor excuse for a politician would not be able to receive the sacrament based on her support of a half dozen or so issues in a number of states.

I lost my mom to breast cancer in 1981. As a teenager it was a difficult period for me, and while it can be said that the passage of time heals, it also brings new sadness. I am the man I am in no small part because of the angel who was my mother, of this there can be no doubt. I guess the sadness comes when I look at my son and think of what a great Grandmother she would have been to him.
My human education as I like to call it, has brought me to the conclusion you hear me speak of often, and that is the children are our future. Not just in the obvious sense, but in a permanent and sobering sense. What I mean here is that if we focus on anything in this life, it should always have our children’s best interest at its core.
So on this Mothers Day 2010, it is only fitting that we acknowledge the extraordinarily difficult but ultimately rewarding job the mothers of the world do every day. They guide us, protect us and nurture us all the while and in many cases, juggling the house, the hubby and work as well.
I would also ask that if you have the means or the opportunity, please help a single and/or struggling mom you may know. For in order to secure that future I speak of, we absolutely must put the kids first. It is a fact that children struggle in single parent homes, more often than not with a single mom. So as we pontificate about the ills of society, let’s step up where we can, whether it is with our own families or even a stranger, to help a mom give her little ones the best shot possible. This does not mean in just a monetary fashion though this is often a major issue, but also to mentor the children, babysit so a mom can work, or maybe even just help with the chores. Oh, and to all you “dead beat dads” out there, put your selfish interests aside and do right by your children. “Don’t want to get me going on this subject too much, moving along”…
So to all the moms I know, especially my trooper of a wife who covers all “bases” while I go to save the world, literally baseball bases, football, soccer, swimming, school functions, nightly reading, homework, Church, teaching Sunday school, oh and the 5 loads of laundry a day, and the house cleaning, and the cooking and the,,, well you get the point,,, oh and I forgot tolerating the unbelievable amount of testosterone which permeates the house on “any given Sunday”, let me say thanks and I’ll pick up those flowers on the way home,,, promise…

President Obama used his weekly radio address to taut the benefits of the new health care law and as usual it’s all about the front loaded perks and not the monumental and “unresolved” cost down the road. As with the “stimulus” package which we now see was flawed in so many ways, not the least of which is all that “front money” is now going away and the government sector jobs “created” will now fall to local government for funding. It was sort of like putting a band aid on a gunshot wound, just some socialist feel good stuff with no real long term resolution or benefit except for possibly the President. Hmmm,,, sort of like Greece J
Anyway, like everything else this (nanny state narcissist) has put in play, this too shall fail, and at our expense. Heck, even those on his side are already talking about massive tax increases to fill the predictable gaps in funding for this impending entitlement disaster.

I’ve been sitting on this one since yesterday. I’m just so infuriated over it that I had to clear my head before I wrote.
“It is unfortunate that some people want to leverage their personal agendas off of this incident,” California School Superintendent Wesley Smith said, noting the national media attention on the school.
Now there’s a bright statement. The only one “leveraging any agenda” Mr. Smith, is your poor excuse for a school official who not only judged poorly, but also sent the undeniable message to young people all across this Nation, that the blood and sacrifice of every soldier ever to where that patch on his/her shoulder, and who has made the ultimate sacrifice to secure all that it represents, did so in vain.
This is exactly the kind of foolish political correctness that will surely be our downfall. This (Assistant Principal Miguel Rodriguez) should be suspended immediately and ordered to spend one year in a military hospital for wounded veterans. In addition he should spend another year in a basic U.S. History class at Hillsdale College before being allowed to return to his position.

It is unbelievable the lengths the “worshipers” will go to spin what is likely a sign of worse things to come. The notion that a simple key stroke was to blame for the market slide yesterday is apparently the talking point for today, though it still has not been verified and is being investigated by the FTC as we speak. You would never know it with the “Drive bye” folks out there all but convinced.
That said, the harsh reality of this situation is that the market has ceased to be an investment in the future and stability of the greatest free enterprise system the world has ever known, and instead has become a game of chance where anything could trigger a disaster. There is no longer rock solid confidence in American ingenuity or investment, and the world can see it.
Message to the voters: let any doubt be removed. This Administration and Congress must change course or they must be removed. Public sector employment out pacing private sector job creation by a 2 to 1 ratio, out of control deficit spending, massive government entitlement promises, any of this sound familiar?? If we continue to move toward this European style economy, we will certainly wake up one day, look out the window and see what they are seeing in Greece right now.
The DOW showed us something yesterday. The path we are on is simply (UNSUSTAINABLE) and dangerous.

Despite protests by a finite number of atheists and agnostics, the National Day of Prayer went forward, albeit with the begrudging “blessing” of the Obama WH. Is it just me or could you read the pain in his face having to acknowledge its history and significance to our Country and way of life.
Whatever the case, it did my heart good to watch and listen to some of the ceremonies today. So to everyone who reads this blog, and no matter your opinion of it, God bless and remember the words in this picture…

I think it’s fair to say that this Administration is on course to be not only the most inept in U.S. History, eclipsing even the idiotic “Jimmy Carter experiment”, but also the most dangerous. From their outright and palpable depression over the fact that the NY City (would be bomber) was actually Muslim, to their in your face attitude with the folks at “Fox”, it is clear that this bunch wants to do as they please and not be called on the carpet for it. The problem is that they continue to screw up on a monumental level, and then villainize anyone calling attention to it. The playbook is almost childlike.
I do see it somewhat differently and even sinister however. I believe in my heart and mind that this is not by accident, but rather by design. You see, we continue to argue with these Socialists like it is a battle over what America is, when in reality they know exactly what this Country represents. Let’s be frank, shall we? And better yet, will those on the left please just come out and say that you hate the story of, and what this Country stands for, and moreover that you intend to change it by any and all means possible. As I have said before, at least then I could have a little respect for you. Instead, we are locked in this redundant political battle which allows the Socialists to hide behind the notion that what they are doing is “what they feel is right for the Country and the people”, regardless of whether or not they mangle our sacred Constitution to do it.
I suspect that the frustration with that thought process as well as this entire “Obama experiment” will be at red line levels by the mid terms. Every day now it seems like “We the People” continue to awaken just a little bit more…

This is something I wrote for a local Christian newspaper, “The Good News Today”. I have the link below. It’s a great paper. Support them if you can.
In 1808 Thomas Jefferson spoke of the danger of affixing federal approval to a national day of prayer. But as I always say, you must put things in context and read a great deal more of Jefferson’s writings to understand he feared only the federal government eventually dictating where, when and how we would pray. This was Jefferson’s way with all things as they related to the federal government and the power granted it by the Constitution. President Lincoln sought divine guidance and healing in a time when we fought against ourselves in the bloodiest of all of our wars. He knew that in times of great peril we must look to a power greater than that of mortal man. President Roosevelt said on “D-Day”, Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity. President Reagan I believe said it best though, “On our National Day of Prayer, we join together as people of many faiths to petition God to show us His mercy and His love, to heal our weariness and uphold our hope, that we might live ever mindful of His justice and thankful for His blessing.”
Those were just a few thoughts as we contemplate the decision of U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb declaring that a “National Day of Prayer” (NDP) is somehow unconstitutional. Now in my haste to blog about what I saw as just another attempt to rid our Country of its founding and guiding principles, admittedly, I seemed to have missed the boat as well. The idea of a NDP is far more involved than I had originally pondered. So let’s go forward and learn something together, shall we?
As I’ve written of late, you do not have to be a Biblical Scholar or a Theologian to understand the religious frame of mind of our Founding Fathers. Now if you have not done your historical homework in this regard, then the rest of the article will only serve to agitate you. That said, the reading of the story of this Country is made even more inspiring when we witness the faith of so many of our leaders who have been tested at its helm. When we note Lincoln’s trials and how he sought Gods divine intervention through personal and political turmoil, or how FDR moved to comfort the American people in time of great National sacrifice by praying with them by the fireside, or how the prayers of the American People sustained a grieving family and Nation when its leader was shot down in the streets of Dallas, our hearts are filled with a sense of closeness to our God, a closeness and security only attained through recognition of, and faith in His authority and mercy. So when we pick up the paper or turn on the television and witness the slow but steady dismantling of the foundational faith which has set us apart and supported us in times of tribulation, we are obviously angered and confused.
For me personally, being from Rhode Island and all, it is difficult to contain my frustration when I hear some local hypocrite or politician babbling about the “separation of church and state”. I simply want to climb to the highest point I can find and scream, “The Constitution don’t say that”!!! That frustration is made all the more difficult considering our well documented and historically religious background here in “The Ocean State”. But while difficult, we must gather ourselves with the facts first, and proceed with patience.
The National Day of Prayer eventually came to be over a period of about 150 years. It began with President Lincoln as he recognized a Nation on the verge of tearing itself apart, and chose to lead with a belief in God that he wrote about often. In 1863, Lincoln signed a Congressional resolution calling for a day of fasting and prayer during the Civil War that we might pray for the fighting and the fallen, and that with the Lords blessing this great Republic would not perish from the earth.
In April of 1952, both Houses of Congress took it a step further and passed a bill proclaiming that the President should select a day each year as a NDP. President Truman signed that bill into law.
In 1972, a National Prayer Committee was formed, and in 1988 public law 100-307 was signed by President Reagan declaring the first Thursday in May of every year as The National Day of Prayer. Over that time the United States has faced challenges on many levels, but none so great as the one before us today.
Shall we throw away that which has arguably made us the greatest Nation ever to exist on earth? Do we turn our backs on the value of Devine Providence as it relates to all that we hold dear as citizens of this free Republic? Do we condemn our children to a Godless and secular life by virtue of our ignorance and vanity? You see, this is a question as much about who we are to become as who we are today. Every decision made by someone like Judge Crabb is another revisionist assault on our children’s future. As we hear more and more from the likes of radical Christian hater Mikey Weinstein, a man truly devoid of any common decency (in this author’s opinion anyway), do we sit idly by and let these nut jobs and revisionists change the Founder’s intent with the brush of a pen or the key stroke of a laptop? Do we wake up one day in an atheist society with faith only in ourselves and the government? I submit to you that should that day ever come, you will hear the screams of regret reverberate from sea to shining sea, more than likely with crackpots like Weinstein’s being the loudest.
Every day we hear of attacks on prayer, in our schools, our businesses and in our social gathering places, all under the guise of Constitutionality, when in fact the documents authors sought only to reinforce that religion was something to be cherished and not restricted, and that their new government would ensure all could pray as they wished. Nowhere in any writing of the day do we see the famed “separation of Church and state”. This was the farthest thing from the Framers minds and they would have been disgusted at the notion. You would not know this from the writing of today however, as the secularist progressives seek to rid the world of God so they might advance the cause of a world beholden only to those things granted by mankind. I know this may sound a bit deep and prophetic for someone who lacks any formal Biblical insight, but it just seems so clear to me. The writing is on the wall if you choose to read it…
Children are allowed to wear t-shirts in our public schools depicting murderers like Che Guevara, yet they are ridiculed and forbidden to wear a t-shirt depicting a cross or the likeness of Christ. The double standard one would expect to be checked by the “establishment clause” is allowed so as not to offend the “non-Christians”. I am very sure that was not the intent of the First Amendment or any of its components. Make no mistake, what are clearly under attack here though, are our Judeo/Christian beliefs and values.
They are increasingly portrayed as extreme and un-Constitutional. In a blow near and dear to my heart, the United States Army has now withdrawn its invitation to Franklin Graham to speak at the Pentagon on the NDP because of a remark he made about Islam being evil. Now I have always been cautious not to stereotype, but I have also seen the face of the enemy, and he is most certainly proclaiming the religion of Islam in his holy war with the “infidels”, and though he may be the extremist of their faithful, I have still yet to see or hear the outrage from the Muslim Community one would expect when a human beings head is sawed off for the cameras. I do not wish to get side tracked here, so I will try and stay on message, though I feel passionately that this is all linked.
Anyway, the NDP is Thursday May 6th 2010, and thankfully, there is some good news on the subject to report as well. There are still some Politicians willing to step up and be counted among the faithful. 40 or so of them, led by Texas Republican Lamar Smith gathered on Capitol Hill in Washington today to voice their support for the NDP, God Bless em’. Also very notable was the support from the CWA (Concerned Women of America), a bipartisan group whose membership feels strongly about protecting the NDP. Vice President of external relations for Focus on the Family Tim Goeglein praised those defending the NDP today as well stating, “If there was ever a time that we needed a National Day of Prayer, it is certainly now.”
With this in mind, we must turn out in the greatest numbers possible on May 6th. Using the “Tea-Party” model of action, I believe that if we are complacent and idle in the face of the “secular army”, and simply discard our religious roots and their priceless worth to our very way of life for the sake of “political correctness”, there simply won’t be a Country left to fight for in the end. For as I’ve written, I believe God is watching and pondering what we do with this “best arrangement for mankind under Him” which He has blessed us with. So let’s do our homework and head out to our local rallies and make this year a referendum on the Judge Crabbs of the Country. Let’s send an unmistakable message that tells these elitists we know our history (religious and otherwise), and that we are proud of it and don’t want it to be (revised).
Now that my head hurts and my fingers are warm, I think it’s time for me to give you a little local flavor on this one as well, that you might be further inspired to action. “Prayer Rhode Island” is a local project established to encourage Rhode Islanders to keep their elected officials cognizant of the importance of prayer as a means to find the wisdom to lead. Now there’s a thought… I think it’s fair to say that we here in RI have a larger “per capita” corrupt politician to population statistic than most other states. In simple terms, our political leaders need all the help they can get. While the battles on (Smith Hill) rage over how to pay for the “sins” of the past 60 years in our state, it is easy to become cynical when we hear folks at both the State and Federal level telling us we need less of God in our lives. 1 Timothy 2:1,2 “I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone -for kings and all those in authority, that we may lead peaceful and quiet lives in godliness and holiness.” NIV.

I have spent a great deal of time on the Hill arguing about this and that, and I have witnessed firsthand the callous disregard many in that building exercise when plotting our collective futures. It makes total sense that Jesus apparently didn’t make it through the security check on the way into the State House Rotunda. For if he had, many in that room would govern from a far different “platform”. Thankfully, there are folks like Cheryl Russell who is in her 11th year with (Prayer RI), and who escorts the Lord into the halls and labyrinth that is the RI State House twice a month to pray for and with our elected officials. (When) they stop to speak with her, she encourages them to think in terms of a holy life first, and as a foundation for any “political” calculation they may be contemplating. Cheryl feels that many of our State Representatives fear any religious overtones in their decision making process as they do not wish to be a target of the ever vindictive and selective ACLU, a political reality for our elected leaders these days. This speaks to what I have been saying about how far we have come from a State that Cheryl points out, touts the Flag of Hope aside of the U.S. Flag, and was founded by a missionary, oh and not to mention that it was the focal flash point of a cast away European culture seeking freedom from “religious” persecution.
Cheryl went on to tell me of her calling to change the hearts and minds of not only politicians, but of all people, from newlyweds to whole families. She spoke of the need for Christians and Non-Christians alike to come out of their “Prayer Closets” and reinforce the message that without God, we are simply out of the light, politically and otherwise. We talked at length about things like the Jericho Walk a couple of years back where some 200 young people walked around the State House professing their faith to all who would listen, as well as what she sees as the need for more to be personally involved in this fight.
Cheryl Russell was at a Woman’s Conference when we spoke by phone, I’m sure doing what she does best, ministering to those in need of spiritual guidance. But she concluded by telling me that the National Day of Prayer, whether it be in Washington or at the State House, is not so much a day as it is a discipline, that should be with us the year round. She feels strongly that the message of that day should be with us always, not just in our local churches, but in our homes, places of business, sporting events, schools and political gatherings. I know this has been a bit long winded and my Editor will be working overtime to try and make it all fit, but there is just so much to say on this topic. I think I can sum up though with a simple thought line. On some level most of us acknowledge God, some more than others, and I’m sure some still with a greater degree of faith. Moreover, most also acknowledge the exceptionalism and worth of this great Republic Divine Providence has given us, whether we discuss it openly or not. So in the humble opinion of this author, it only makes sense that if we wish to leave our legacy, the “hope” and dreams of our faithful forbearers, then our collective message should be loud and clear, hands off “Our National Day of Prayer”.

I caught his remarks to Fox’s Goler today when the Reporter tried to ask about comparisons to Bush’s response to Katrina. These guys are just cranky because they are trying to get out from underneath their position on off shore drilling, and they know their lefty buddies in the House and Senate are gonna use politics to nix that idea. Despite the hopes and prayers of the Obama Administration, the drive by media, and that quasi communist Bloomberg, it turns out there is indeed an Islamic fundamentalist link to the NY city failed bombing.
I do want to take a minute to say hats off to the gentleman shop owner who alerted police to the threat, and to all of our terror fighters who grabbed this sick SOB before he had a chance to escape.
If this does not tell the story of what we are facing, I don’t know what does. If this Administration continues to project this ridiculous (olive branch diplomacy crap) to our enemies, it is only a matter of time before one of these bombs actually goes off.
This is not some college thesis paper or project Mr. President. These people mean to kill us for real.

Am I hearing this right?? Did the Administration have information on methods and material that could have burned off this oil and kept it off shore? Is it possible that environmental politics has played a role in what is shaping up to be one of, if not the worst environmental disaster in American history? After excoriating George Bush for the sins of (thankfully “former” Mayor Ray Nagin), can this President and his lefty buddies have stepped in it this bad. It is really starting to look that way now isn’t it??
Sadly, their incompetence or maybe even intentional disregard for potential solutions to this catastrophe will cost many their very livelihoods and much more as a result. You can’t make this stuff up…

President Obama spoke at the University of Michigan Saturday and gave his usual rousing defense of big government, complete with a list of tough “choices” and “spread the wealth” mentality innuendo, but what I found particularly curious was his reference to the need for civility in the debate. This from a President who has done more with his thug like and condescending tone, and with the assistance of Chris Mathews and the rest of the Obama media support group, to fan the flames of political warfare than any President in recent memory. I mean this guy could write a book. “Perfect humility and civility and how I achieved both” by Barack Hussein Obama… Yeah right…

The back drop for this attempted car bombing in New York’s Time square is really quite fascinating if not totally frightening. It’s certainly not a stretch to look at everything from the attack on religion and personal responsibility in this country today, to the illegal immigration controversy, the debt crises, and even to the eco disaster playing out in the Southern Gulf, and wonder if we are not on the fast track to the so called “end times”.
I’m going to opt out and leave that debate to someone more learned in the Prophesies. However, I will say that I have long feared and argued mightily, that 911 merely numbed the American populous. What followed was a typical and necessary overwhelming military response that “We the People” expected, and cheered for as it played out on the 24 news networks. Unfortunately, the need for a quick resolution that has so dominated our culture over the last century actually compromised our ability to see and deal with a long term enemy unlike any we have faced. Now while it would be premature at this stage to lay the blame squarely at the feet of the Islamofascists, it is at least notable that in the shadow of on going terror trials in NY right now and stepped up efforts in Afghanistan and Iraq, we would see a car bomb planted in the square.
Sadly, I have also argued that the real wake up call for us in matters of Islamic fundamentalist terrorism would only come when we began to experience what is a way of life for the Jewish State. Only when innocent American blood flows in the streets of a major metropolitan city, not necessarily in mass numbers pulverized in a destroyed 100 + story building, but on a busy street corner or shopping mall, or maybe God forbid a school yard, then and only then will we wake from the slumber of political correctness and no longer be “guilted” into the “progressive” and dangerous “one world order” thought process.
Make no mistake America, as our enemies watch us self destruct, the battle for the (Founders United States) will inevitably be fought on our own soil. Do not let our Soldiers in harm’s way today die for nothing. Be proud of our heritage and history, stand up for our way of life, and defend our Country right here at home. Send the message of true patriotism to those who represent us in Washington and for that matter, anyone who will listen.

The American experience is unique in the world and should be cherished and protected so our children, and their children might enjoy it. It just makes sense that our history, individual and collective, should gives us passion and a cause to action.
For me it’s often personal, like a song or even a certain smell or food that takes me back… So find some time and kick back for a minute, grab your beverage of choice, crank it up and remember that this life (in a free country) is about choices…

Ya know, it wasn’t long ago the “Lefty’s” were squawking about Republicans “scaring” the public on health care. Well, this is a perfect example of what the left in this country are doing and what they alone do best, applying the double standard and attempting to mislead “We the People”…
This is actually a very simple mathematics equation that applies to the Democrats ability to secure a voter block, and also to a more sinister approach by a growing segment of the Mexican border population to slowly “repatriate” the South Western United States.

Now am I missing something here or did the idiots over in New York just name a theocratic state that embraces lashings and stoning for “immodest women” to their esteemed commission? Where the heck are the women’s rights folks on this one? What the heck is going on over at the United Nations, the same United Nations that we pump billions into every year I might add?
So let me get this straight, not only does this low life/bottom feeder Ahmadinejad get to stand on our soil and thumb his nose at our less than gutsy President, but he also gets a seat at the table where the course of women’s rights around the globe will be discussed.

Ok, let’s look at the facts shall we? The Border Patrol is strained to the breaking point with still miles and miles of unrestrained border violations. Border state law enforcement agencies are burdened with federal immigration responsibility and ever increasing illegal alien crime including drug smuggling and unspeakable cross border violence. Hospitals are collapsing under the weight of the illegal’s need for “free” health services. Municipal school systems are packed to the doors with the children of illegals. We could go on and on, but our President knows full well these facts and other undeniable truths about illegal immigrations impact on our Nation.
Now let’s talk a little about Mexican immigration policy. Did you know you cannot move to Mexico until you can prove you have means to support yourself (and your family)? Did you know that as a “non citizen” you cannot protest the government and if you do you will be jailed? Did you know you are entitled to “nothing” whatsoever along the lines of government subsidies, no free health care, no food stamps, and no welfare? Did you know that a drug smuggling violation brings a mandatory life sentence without parole? Did you know that if you are found to be in Mexico illegally, you are immediately jailed and subsequently deported? There’s more, but we must move on.
Knowing all of this, the President of the United States gave a characterization of the new Arizona immigration law today that was nothing short of a disingenuous and manipulative lie. He claimed that the measure was flawed and would allow police officers to stop and question “anyone” with darker skin, (and who may even have been an ancestor of someone who lived in Arizona when it was not part of the U.S. I might add), even if they were out with their families having ice cream. Now while the comment was infantile in its delivery, completely inaccurate and spawned a slew of follow up inflammatory statements from the likes of Sharpton and Jackson, it does once again lend credence to my belief that the current POTUS is far more invested in destroying all that we hold dear than most understand. The President and those on the left are even likening Arizona’s intention to do what the federal government should be doing anyway, to Nazism while making ludicrous and provocative statements like, “you may be asked for your papers”. Yes people, the POTUS actually said that himself. This President is even more irresponsible and unprofessional than I had first imagined.

Then we see and hear this fool Carl Levin (D) MI, sounding off not once, but rather six times or more about how investors got a “shxty” deal from GS and Company. I mean, is this clown for real?
Listen, I admit I’m not, nor will I ever be a fan of Levin’s left wing blabber, but come on.
Appropriately, my motivation will continue to be educating my son about life in America to include knowing the difference between right and wrong, what is acceptable and professional in public, and what is down right foolishness and disrespectful. Now I’m not sure what his intentions were yesterday, maybe it was pure politics or maybe just a show for the cameras. Regardless, in the modern media age of the 24 hour news cycle, the last thing I want my young one to witness is an off the cuff, pompous, phony and unprofessional ass like Carl Levin using the cameras in an obvious attempt to manipulate “We the People”.

My sons 2nd grade class put on a “Town Hall” meeting today. They gathered with the rest of the school in the gymnasium and put on quite the show for us parents. They spoke of everything from how they spent their spring vacation, to the recent flooding in Rhode Island, and sang songs in English and Spanish about the “one big world” around them. The Physical Education Teacher even coached everyone at the gathering on different international greetings, in recognition of the upcoming “National Physical Education week” where the children will practice different international games exchanging greetings before and after. This was all very interesting and the little ones were a joy to watch and listen to.
That said, as I looked around the packed auditorium, I became aware of something disheartening. I didn’t notice even one American Flag. Not on the stage where the sponsor class sat, not in the corners, or on any of the walls. As a matter a fact, I couldn’t find one single reference to the United States in the room. Now I have been to my fair share of Town Halls, Committee meetings, Judiciary Committee hearings, and so on, and our Flag is always displayed (in the open) with pride by or near the Governing Body. One would think that if we wish to educate our children on the protocol and practice of a Town Hall meeting, we would begin with the basics.
Now I surely don’t mean to nitpick here, as the children were enthusiastic and exceptional in their presentation, and it was obvious that a great effort was made by the teachers in preparation for the event. Additionally, my boy tells me that his teacher does fly the U.S. Flag in his classroom, and the school does in front of the building as well. However, at a time when our national identity is being questioned and manipulated by pundits and politicians alike, the folks over at my sons school might want to include at least some reference to our own Country’s contributions to this “one big world”.
Moreover, while young men and women are fighting and dying to ensure a future for these little ones, the very least we could do is honor them by flying the Flag of the United States of America at a “Town Hall” event.

Let’s put aside the fact that the Presidents staff reads like the guest list at a Wall Street picnic for a minute, and just look at his most recent comments concerning last night’s vote to block debate on the Financial Regulatory Bill. It is truly astounding, (I’m running out of big words to describe this crap), to hear this guy talk about “behind closed doors” manipulation of any legislation, when he blatantly tossed a dozen or so “transparency” campaign promises and screwed “We the People” with health care. It’s almost surreal to watch and listen as this Administration says one thing and does another, right in front of our eyes, and then tells us don’t worry about it, they know what’s best, and all this while we have the left wing blogosphere out there calling for the physical assault and murder of Wall Street executives and traders. These people are truly enemies of this Nation.
I have said and will reiterate that we need to look at the practices of Wall Street, but only through the prism of the personal responsibility of the investor, and basic common sense oversight that encourages fairness. Simply put, the notion that any investment should come with, or be guaranteed safe by a “third” party, government or otherwise, flies in the face of what Wall Street is all about. Screw with that, and you will destroy the free market economy. Hmmm,,, could that be the motivation???
Without the entrepreneurial free spirit of investment in the potential of a future success story, our way of life will cease to exist…

Well I guess it’s never that easy… The President did get it partially right though when he spoke of the Federal Governments lack of action on immigration. As far as any “misguided” effort is concerned, well that speaks to just about his entire Presidency to date. It would probably be a good idea for him to lay off Governor Brewer, who is simply stepping up and doing what the Feds should be.
Look, we are Nation essentially born of immigration, but we are also a Nation of laws and not men. The laws exist to protect the civil rights of all. So when I hear the fairness argument, I know it is actually about election year politics. Now the President seems to be gearing up for a fight on this issue hoping for some political gain, based on the illegal’s support for his Socialist agenda. Ok, in this case I say “bring it”, as I believe “We the People” will be even angrier than we were about healthcare, as this is a fundamental argument about the rule of law. Arguably, it may be the “Legal immigrants” who are abiding by those laws, whose voices end up winning the day.
President Obama sees political value in this fight, and so do I. He means to restructure the playing field and stack the deck with as many entitlement votes for his left of center party as he can. I think it is a pivotal opportunity to shape the debate in simple terms, do we enforce the law, or don’t we?
I feel we win on this one, though the Obama Nation will scratch out the smaller but effective over the long term victory, of dividing the Country even further by way of lies and misleading the Latino Americans. As with the rest of this Presidents term, we will have to assess and repair the damage when he is gone.
Send the Guard to the border and build the fence!!

President Obama is against the Arizona Immigration Bill just signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer, and he is whining about it even as we speak. Now why do you think the POTUS would be against enforcing the law?? Simple, it will most certainly put a crimp in his ability to garner the “illegal vote” in that area, as well as raise funds for his campaign in 2012 so he can continue to push his Progressive agenda, to include (amnesty)..
