Let the battle begin…

I did my level best to keep an open mind during last night’s debate, which is more than I can say for some of my email detractors. You folks really need to consider anger management classes. With that said, I think not many minds were changed by this last meeting of President Obama and Governor Romney. I did feel the President sounded more like the challenger rather than the incumbent. But overall, the stark contrasts between the two men and their ideologies was only reinforced.

I have framed this election for the last four years as a battle for the soul of this country. I stand by that assessment even more steadfastly today. In the end, folks will have to do a great deal of gut checking when they go into the voting booth. And while there will always be the party loyalists who vote their emotions instead of on the basis of truth, this election will ultimately be decided when clear-headed individuals make a conscious choice in terms of where they see our country in twenty years.

With the debates now over, I cannot remember a more divided America. Sadly, this is our own doing and not that of some political boogie man conjured up by either side. We have failed in so many ways to safeguard that which was entrusted to us, and are therefore left to fight over what the founders had intended to be so much more clear. Our value system is in chaos and the minority has paralyzed an entire culture, because so many have chosen apathy and political correctness over the time-tested principles of individual liberty and accountability. Dependency is now revered and success is demonized. Revisionist history is the norm and few of our children are learning the greatness of America or of those who gave their futures to keep it that way.

Nonetheless and in the simplest of terms, for Governor Romney to become President there must be enough voters out there who understand, our current direction will erode and eventually erase the exceptionalism which has made The United States the greatest arrangement for mankind in all of human history. And for President Obama to remain President, there must be enough voters who have become comfortable with a globalist, big government, big debt and “live in the moment” application. On November 6, 2012, the world will know whether “We the People” shall rise up from adversity once again, and unite to leave our children a better future as we have done for generations, or whether we will simply be another political punch-line, remembered only for the missed opportunity of having learned the lessons of history. Please put any ill-conceived or resentment filled rhetoric in its proper place and vote your conscience this November…There is much at stake…

It’s only the first debate…

Just a couple of observations. (If) we are to believe the polls, Governor Romney did exactly what he needed to do and took the fight to the President. He was on message, articulate and described what is the most basic but important part of this election, “the vivid contrast” between two visions for America. And while the President did seem a bit disinterested and smug, that actually didn’t surprise me one bit.

Now I won’t get into why I feel the POTUS is not necessarily the “likable” guy many folks seem to think he is. I might just let the recently revealed tapes of a couple of very divisive speeches he made before he was elected speak for themselves on that matter. Consequently, I definitely got the feeling the Obama camp was trying mightily not to appear outside of that “likability” comfort zone. Let’s face it, Romney pretty much showed that’s really all they have. Arguably however, this is only the first debate. And judging from the “Shame Stream Media” response thus far, they will be out in full force today to spin this to the President’s advantage as best they can.

The simple truth is that in November, “We the People” will in fact have to do exactly what Governor Romney said last night, and choose between two very different ideological directions for our country. One thing is for certain after watching last night’s contest though, and that is neither of the candidates  attempted to hide theirs. Using only this as a benchmark, I score the night a tie.

The mirage in the mirror…

Listening to the “line up” before Michelle Obama the other night made it very difficult to take her rosy assessment of her husband and his job performance seriously.

I love that for Barack, there is no such thing as “us” and “them” – he doesn’t care whether you’re a Democrat, a Republican, or none of the above…he knows that we all love our country…and he’s always ready to listen to good ideas…he’s always looking for the very best in everyone he meets”.

Excuse me????

Did the First Lady listen to the speakers ahead of her? Did she listen to the vitriolic Rhetoric and pandering? Has she been listening to her husband and his campaign crew these past months? Was she asleep during the health care and debt ceiling debates? Maybe she’s just content to live in an alternate Liberal/Progressive universe where truth is “negotiable”.

Look, I will not deny that with the exception of one fleeting moment on the night he won the 2008 Election, I don’t believe I’ve seen anything like how the media portray this man or his wife. I would agree that while all outward appearances show they are the attentive and caring parents of two lovely young girls, their political persona’s on the other hand, are manufactured, embellished and disingenuous at best. And we need look no further than the last couple of weeks for validation of same.

In a nut shell, the Republicans did a pretty good job of keeping the “red meat” often associated with these conventions to a minimum, and were dam respectful of the office, (Eastwood’s performance notwithstanding, though really funny and not without merit..) Clearly the same has not been afforded the Republican ticket thus far. The man who “doesn’t care whether you’re a Democrat or Republican” has sat on his hands while his minions have shredded and disrespected the Romney-Ryan ticket and Republicans far beyond any acceptable limits, to include no less than 3 references so far comparing the GOP to Nazi’s. Now while I believe the evidence shows the opposite to be true, it is still somewhat stunning to hear Mrs. Obama get up in front of the whole world and say the words she said. And while I’m quite sure I will catch heck for it, I think she’s full of it…

Man, can we get on to the debates??

Note: The fact that this Jason Biggs scumbag is even relevant, speaks volumes about the decline of modern America… What a low-life….

Note 2: Anyone wanna buy a couple of tickets to Obama’s outdoor extravaganza?? Cheap!!

Truth is power!!!

I watched and listened to the amazing Condoleezza Rice, Marco Rubio and folks like Artur Davis and Mia Love speak down in Tampa, and it made me think about the hypocrisy of the Left when they attempt to label Republicans as racially or gender biased. I listened to the stories of these people who refused to be swayed from the “American Dream” by the mischaracterizations and lies of the Left, these people who would not sacrifice their shot at the best possible future by any phony excuses and politically driven rhetoric.

So as I turned back to the internet to do my research for the morning release, what did I find? The Left Wing attack machine had high jacked the Wikipedia page of Mia Love, and filled it with such vile and hateful crud, that I simply won’t repeat it here. This Mayor of Saratoga Springs and daughter of Haitian immigrants, who is a rising star in the Republican Party, has been railed against and vilified for one simple fact, and that is she is indeed a Republican. You see, people like Love make it very hard to exploit the notion of racial or gender bias on the part of the Right. These attractive and honest success stories (and millions more like them) basically slam shut the Leftist idea that all minorities and women must somehow be “demagogues for Democrats” and/or Left Wing apologist or ideologues.

Sadly, as we listen and read of the Progressive smearing and down-right hateful attacks, which in lieu of any discernible record of achievement, or a plan to solve our fiscal woes, appear to be the Democratic battle plan for the foreseeable future, one is left to wonder about the state of the Democrat Party moving forward.

Or maybe this all begs the question, is this the party of Truman and JFK? I think not!

He will not fail…

I was thrilled to hear Ann Romney set the record straight at the Republican National Convention last evening. It seems like an eternity I’ve had to listen to the “Lame Stream” media and Liberal sycophants yammer on about her two Cadillac’s and her horses. The truth of the matter is, these folks are self-made, and their success by way of hard work, determination and drive simply gets under the skins of the Progressive dolts.

As I looked past Mrs. Romney speaking, and at the pictures of her as a young mother with her children, my eyes filled up as I wondered if she could have ever known the health struggles she would eventually face, or the faith and courage that would be necessary to weather those storms. Shame on these Leftist whiners who are lost in their own envy and disgust, and who need someone or something to blame for their lot in this life. And double shame on the power-hungry politician who would pander to and exploit that weakness of character to their own selfish benefit.

Mitt Romney for President!!! Let’s take back our country!!!

Gasping…

The latest ad from the Elizabeth Warren camp is a picture perfect example of a campaign in crisis mode. The Liberal Democratic Candidate for Senator Scott Brown’s seat in Massachusetts has latched on to the Akin controversy with the talons of a desperate competitor who is in trouble and out of ideas, (if she had any to begin with). The fact that the ad is flat-out rubbish and awash with mischaracterizations and down right lies, is almost lost behind what sounds like the gasping tone of it.

Listening to Warren speak is almost painful. She is easily flustered and devoid of any logical or factual debate. Her lack of knowledge on even the most basic issues regarding the current economic crisis we face, is trumped only by her missteps and bumbling attempts to clarify her “Native American” heritage.

I simply cannot defend the Akin remarks, and I have stated as much in recent commentary. Having said that, if Ms. Warren would like to speak out for women in America today, maybe she could offer a solution to the disproportionate unemployment numbers for women during the “Obama years”, rather than fear mongering and propagandizing. Then again, that’s what the Left does best. What a joke…

Distractions…

Representative Todd Akin’s comments were at the very least horribly confusing, and demonstrate an acute inability to speak appropriately as a public figure on the issues of the day. In terms of the abortion issue as it relates to rape, they were nothing short of offensive, and usually off-limits when being interviewed by a “Lame Stream” media hungry to demonize Conservatives at every turn. This guy messed up big time and there is absolutely no way to repair the damage. Mr. Akin needs to step aside and do no more harm to the Republican’s chances in Missouri. Sadly, McCaskill was primed for a throbbing at the polls in November.

Nonetheless, the Left Wing attack machine is trying mightily to somehow attach Akin’s “communication” issues to the Romney/Ryan Campaign. It remains obvious and frankly quite sad, that the Obama folks, in an effort to focus on anything but the issues, will beat this stuff to death as they do.

I say again, and will continue to say until I’m blue in the face, this election is about “We the People”, and whether we will buy into these types of media driven distractions, or focus on the critical economic issues that will affect our future.

Focus people…

There’s no honeymoon in Presidential politics…

I knew they’d come for Paul Ryan, but it’s still amazing the degree to which the Left is will vilify an opponent when they have absolutely zero to run on. Regrettably, the “Lame Stream Media” seems in lock step with the Dems and their message. CNN’s Candy Crowley is out there quoting “unnamed” sources as having called the Ryan pick a “death sentence” for the ticket. Andrea Mitchell of NBC calls the pick “not one for women“. And 60 minutes (chop-shop editors) conveniently left Congressman Ryan’s home run answer to Bob Shieffer’s Medicare question on the cutting room floor. Oh well, so much for objective and non partisan journalism.

Nonetheless, cash is rolling in at a fever pitch as the energetic and charismatic Ryan seems to be making the Left cringe just a bit. Fact of the matter is, any debate over our country’s direction must include a serious discussion about entitlement reform, as a means of reigning in a deficit which will surely destroy our children’s United States. Congressman Paul Ryan understands this with great clarity, and his honest, middle class and straight forward approach will make it happen. Much to their chagrin, Dems will not be able to run from that debate, or their own standard bearer’s abysmal record. Oh, and that’s right, I called Ryan middle class. The Left has another thing coming if they think they’ll be able to pigeon hole this guy into the “rich Republican” category. He is as middle class as middle class gets, and he’s gonna stomp the fool who goes there.

Listen, I have read the Ryan proposal, and I personally don’t think it goes far enough. Having said that, it will clearly require a businessman President and Vice President to get any of it through Congress on behalf of “We the People”. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are the men for this time in our history, and I’m confident and excited their realistic and truthful presentation of that which ails us, will bring Americans back together in a common bond which has been missing for almost 4 years now. With a victory in November, on their capable shoulders will rest the future of the next generation and the hope and prayers of the current one.

It’s high time…

I’m still not ready to jump on Chief Justice Roberts for his vote yesterday, but that may change. I believe the fact the “Affordable” Care Act became law in the first place is proof positive that our nation is broken and foundering. As I posted yesterday, the question of Constitutionality as it relates to fines vs. taxes was addressed in the decision. With that said, we have become so desensitized to Constitutionally questionable entitlements built around payroll deductions, what’s one more tacked on? For good or bad, an entitlement class is alive and thriving in America.

Some of you have suggested I seem a bit indifferent to the Supreme Court ruling. Nothing could be further from the truth. It’s just that I expected, and quietly hoped for it. Voting down the law would only have served to embolden the radical Left to war status, and kick the can down the road in terms of a larger and more productive discussion. If we do not fight the “haves and have not’s” fight right now, it simply may be too late.

Ironically, Mitt Romney must now step into the uncomfortable role of Conservative champion, and the Presidential Campaign I envisioned will come to pass. There is simply no getting away from the ideological confrontation which has been festering for more than two generations and now threatens to destroy our country. I must admit however, there is still a part of me that would welcome the total collapse that will most certainly come should America not change course in November. It just seems it’s the only way many on the Left will finally understand this “utopian dream”, perpetuated by a twisted ideology and promoted by an educated but inexperienced and reckless President, is a fraud. Moreover, that stark reality, which will likely come in the form of economic strife the likes of which this nation has never known, is close at hand.

I wonder though, would that be enough to convince them or would they blame that on Bush too???
