Evil x 2+1…

Events here at home have us focused on our Colorado brothers and sisters, and this is all together appropriate. We continue to pray for the souls of the twelve who were so senselessly taken, and for those fighting for their lives in Aurora area hospitals. I for one will be watching as “evil” will face justice beginning  tomorrow.

However scenes from around the globe remind us of the perils still lurking outside our door. Syria is poised to dissolve into total chaos as Assad and his regime run out of options. This is worrisome when we consider the amount of chemical and biological weapons that monster has stockpiled, and whether he would now use them to hang on to power or exact revenge. Worse yet, might they fall into the hands of terrorists should the government ultimately collapse? Assad is no Khadafy. He was raised a purposeful and blood thirsty killer, just like his old man. And it is likely he will lash out in some fashion before this is all over. Israel is monitoring the situation closely as is to be expected, and at the same time their attention is focused on Iran and the “shoulder monkey” terrorist group, Hezbollah. Truth be told, the Israelis will not run for the politically correct cover of the so called “United Nations” as does Secretary of State Clinton, but rather they will act in the best interest of their people first. And if it can be determined that the Iranians had a hand in the Bulgarian bus bombing, then you can bet some Hezbollah operative and/or one or more of his Ahmadinejad handlers, are going to have a severe case of shrapnel disease coming on.

All this comes under the backdrop of another UN attempt to corral the U.S. into a Constitutionally incompatible small arms treaty, and while Mitt Romney is planning to go overseas as part of a campaign initiative to roll out and gauge international support for the Presidential Candidate.

The weeks ahead are sure to bring more fateful events outside our borders, and the United States had better be prepared to act if need be.

“Independence”…

Independence, what does it mean? What did it mean to the founders in the middle 18th Century and how does that transcend today? When I think of these questions, I personally am not the least bit confused or even hesitant about the answers. A third graders understanding of the historical facts tell us that, by and large the colonists sought to be free of Great Britain’s cross Atlantic and all-encompassing King and Parliament. Though there was no immediate or coordinated approach to achieving such an unheard-of ambition for the times, the “rebels” would eventually come to understand the basic premise of unalienable rights afforded not by the hand of a “tender and merciful Monarch”, but by the grace of God. And they would fight for those rights. Oh, there were certainly the loyalists (Progressives?) who could not reconcile a life “un-ruled”, but liberty would eventually win the day and freedom would come to America by way of great bloodshed and sacrifice.

So taking into consideration the incomprehensible size and scope of our government today, I ask you two questions on this 4th of July 2012, and I look forward to your answers. Republicans and Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives alike, what does independence mean to you today, and does our nation’s current status and application hold true to its founding?

Ultimately, I believe these questions will be answered this November. And at the very moment when Election Day 2012 is settled and “We the People” have spoken, we shall know our children’s (and our own) future…

July 4th, 1776 – 2012…

With all the political hullabaloo over healthcare, immigration and the like, I’m content to be a bit reflective this “Independence Day”. I am also quick to remind my readers this time of year that we are for all intents and purposes, a young nation. Nonetheless, The United States of America has changed the world for the better like no other before it. Having read and written thousands of pages in print and on-line over the years in my quest to communicate what I believe is this nation’s best destiny to whomever would listen, I keep coming back to the same diagnosis for what is ailing “We the People”. We appear to be suffering from “generational degradation”, born of selfishness, complacency and a lack of real understanding of this country and its founding. Please let me explain.

Removed from the sacrifices of WW II and Korea, and born to parents determined to shield them from the horrors of their own lives by any and all means of pampering, there are those of the “boomer generation” who would take our nations imperfections and manipulate them into decades of ideological hatred and class warfare. Subsequently over time, the cause of “liberty for all” has been hijacked and smeared by those unwilling or simply unable to process the fact of its God-given origins. Idealistic politicians with a societal axe to grind, drive wedges and “categorize” Americans in order to foster a sense of entitlement and resentment, as they posture for political power and a platform to change what wasn’t meant to be changed. So called minority or (community) leaders coerce the young and the impressionable with the (have and have not) argument so they may cement their status and reap their own financial rewards, all while leaving their target audience with no hope and no direction. And many Americans increasingly sit on their hands (some even willingly), as their children are spoon fed a steady diet of anti-Americanism and revisionist history in our public school system and on into higher education. The loud and angry voice of a smaller but focused opposition is drowning out truth and reason, and the principles on which this great nation was founded are passing into history. We are becoming that which we separated from in 1776.

I know this must sound like a rather bleak assessment of our national status, and I apologize if I can no longer sugarcoat reality with fancy words and non-confrontational tactics. I believe we are beyond that approach. And while this is not a blanket synopsis, the facts are these. The enemies of freedom cannot win in the arena of ideas. Therefore they are in many ways content to fan the flames of discontent with lies and distortions so we may die slowly from within from a thousand knife wounds. For our part, we are not doing our collective homework and thus making it easy for the enemy. We are leaving the spiritual and cultural identity of “One nation under God” by the roadside, and molding our posterity to fit a world so many brave Patriots died to distinguish us from. A simple truth which addresses this is that there can be no God in the life of a Socialist. Personal responsibility and accountability for our actions are not tenets of a politically correct society, and to pursue a better way for you and your family is seen as not in line with the “fair shake” philosophy.

Hear me people of this great country. We have made our mistakes. On this we should have no illusion. But The United States has done more to advance the cause of humanity than any nation on earth. In our short time we have resolved to fight the fights un-fought by other nations from the beginning. And while there have been battle wounds and scars, we have won, and continue to win those battles today. Appropriately, it is only by the grace of God that we have enjoyed these successes, and by that same grace that we may go forward. “We the People” of this great nation are poised at the precipice of truth. The question on this “4th of July” 2012 is, do we fix what’s broken and hold fast to that which has provided our greatness, or do we accept the message of globalism and mediocrity for the sake of some unholy “new world order” that welcomes genocidal dictators into its ranks?

Teach your children of America’s true history and greatness. Explain to them that while no nation is perfect, they are truly blessed to live in this one. And send a message to those who mean to represent us, that we will not be stripped of that which the Declaration and the Constitution outlines and God guarantees us.

And to all who have worn the uniform of The United States Military and provided that we might celebrate 236, some at the cost of their own longevity, I am reflecting on you as well this 4th. Thank you and may God bless and keep you all…

The politics of immigration…

In an election year everything is fair game, though how a candidate frames the argument is often the deciding factor as to whether or not it helps their cause. There is something to be said about the fact that President Obama stole a bit of Senator Rubio’s thunder with his recent executive order concerning children of illegal’s, and how it will eventually play into Governor Romney’s stance on the border. I myself have written at length about my own conflicts when debating immigration, and executive orders for that matter. There are also questions about how difficult it will be down the road to enact comprehensive immigration reform now that the POTUS has jumped the political gun.

Ultimately for me, it came down to the President’s own words and mannerisms during his little impromptu in the Rose Garden. Now I know many will flood my email box with hate mail about how I just don’t like Mr. Obama, and how I’m a racist Republican hack. But the truth is, the President is his own worst enemy when off the cuff. I’m not going to go back and forth on this except to print a post from my Facebook account in response to a local radio personality’s post on the POTUS’s order, which for good or bad sums it up:

Matt Allen WPRO 630 AM, Rhode Island:

Matt, President Obama is revered as a great orator by many on the Left. In fact, he is an unapologetic and idealistic politician of the first order. Born of Chicago politics, condescending and elitist when challenged, and off balance when not reading from script. Appropriately, “We the People” have the extraordinary and unique power to fire him in November, but will we? This election is not about The President or Governor Romney so much as it is about us Matt… I suspect it has always been that way… Enough said…

Cultural miscue…

Greta Hawkins, principal of PS 90 in NYC has decided that Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” will offend other cultures and is not age appropriate for a kindergarten “graduation”.

Really?

Okay … Notwithstanding the saturation of filth and family dysfunction our children are exposed to on a daily basis just by way of their closest television screen, video game or pocket device, or the fact that this so called principal is already on record as not being the most patriotic of educators, why then is Justin Bieber’s flirty song “Baby” deemed somehow appropriate for the same venue? I know the answer to this question, however I’m curious to know what you think?

Thankfully, the outrage over this monumentally ignorant decision by Miss Hawkins is coming from the many cultures she attempts to speak for. Ultimately, the majority of those who have emigrated to this country have not done so to re-establish their culture here, but rather to assimilate into and broaden the (United States culture) and make a better way for themselves and their families. You see, what many Progressives will never admit, is that “E Pluribus Unum” is what makes our nation great. A singular culture made stronger by the “integration” of facets of other cultures, and not by diluting the core principles of its founding. I would tell you that the answer to the question of “why are we so divided today” lies in conundrums such as this one. It all comes down to who “We the People” really are. The answer may be simpler than you think. But it will have far-reaching implications if we ignore what we know to be the truth and goodness of our freedom, in favor of the politically correct and less than honorable intentions of a vocal and well-funded Progressive cause.

Please contact NYC school officials and let them know what you think about Principal Hawkins!

D-Day 6-6-44…

For freedom's sake, and for ours, remember...

Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force! You are about to embark upon a great crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you. The hopes and prayers of liberty loving people everywhere march with you. In company with our brave Allies and brothers in arms on other fronts, you will bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.

Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened, he will fight savagely.

But this is the year 1944! Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41. The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats, in open battle, man to man. Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground. Our home fronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war, and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men. The tide has turned! The free men of the world are marching together to victory!

I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty and skill in battle. We will accept nothing less than full victory!

Good Luck! And let us all beseech the blessings of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower

Burning Bridges…

Admittedly, I have been a bit pre-occupied with our crumbling economic situation and what our elected leaders must to do to stop the bleeding. However, I heard something on the news this morning that caught my ear with regard to the qualifications of our President during these difficult times. As I’ve said from the beginning of this trip down the “Utopian Yellow Brick Road”, this Administration simply appears to be out of their league and experimenting when they should be leading.

And this is our new cow milking machine Sir...

It now seems that in the absence of any discernible record of progress here at home, the POTUS and his re-election team have opted to paint the picture of a tough President on foreign policy. From the credit hogging of the bin-Laden adventure, to the terrorist  “kill list” President Obama allegedly keeps on his desk, to the incessant leaking of classified intelligence/information regarding things like the computer virus that nearly crippled the Iranian nuclear program, and finally the outing and then abandoning of the doctor who gave us bin- Laden on a platter, it appears the Obama WH has no problem breaking every covert rule in the book as a means to secure their political future. The problem comes moving forward as we face the world having lost every ounce of credibility that once emboldened a potential freedom fighter to our cause, as these “operators” will now view the POTUS as a disingenuous and self-serving bureaucrat. Note: (Our days as that beacon of freedom and justice to the world are fading along with the President’s credibility).

When I analyze this type of “bush-league” political ineptitude, my confidence that the “Obama Brigade” is even remotely qualified to face the enormous challenges posed by our failing economy is simply not there…

Memorial Day 2012…

When I hear pandering politicians speak about the “sacrifices” of our military I’m always a little skeptical. I look at their records and in many cases those records don’t add up to the placating of the moment. Such is the case every Memorial Day. However I will leave that out there for now and instead take the high road today. I want to focus on what is important, the men and women of The United States Military and their families who have so selflessly put the needs of a nation and her posterity ahead of their own. Sadly, many have engaged in the struggle only to return in a flag draped coffin.

John 15:13

King James Version (KJV)

13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

I look to the photographs of the young ones who stand graveside at events that are sure to weaken the sturdiest of knees and dampen the driest of eyes. For you know, despite their age and the difficulty of conveying such adult matters to a child, that lost parent had explained to them the nature of the business and what might be expected. It is assumed therefore, that incredible feeling of sadness and loss will somehow always have a different meaning for that child. Sacrifice and honor are words they will hear and utter time and again when they consider that very special person in their lives.

Still, I am left with a nagging feeling when I see one of those pictures. I guess it’s because I interact and with so many people on so many levels every day. I wonder if (some) Americans will ever truly understand what “ultimate sacrifice” means or what it represents to all of us. Sadly, that understanding can only come by way of education, historical education. Not the ideological kind that highlights only America’s faults and failings, but rather that which recognizes the indisputable influence of a young nation having changed the world for the better and given up so much of her own blood to do so. And also the kind of historical perspective that acknowledges first and foremost how those lost souls saw their participation as part of the greater good and not a means to keep a tyrannical government from executing their families back home. These are things political leaders and teachers in our schools should be putting in context for young people every time they have an opportunity, reminding them of the blessing that is their country. Regrettably, thankfulness and appreciation for the efforts of those who have gone to guarantee that blessing, have been replaced by learned selfishness and entitlement rooted in some perceived and convoluted “fairness doctrine”.

Personally, I look at every Memorial Day and think of some of my friends who have made that “sacrifice” and I remember their motives. I think of my late father and of my nephew who understood freedom and what might be necessary to preserve it, and they went anyway. And then I listen to those fools trying to re-write that which does not suit their ideological frame-work, as well as the next generation whom they’ve robbed of the truth and wisdom needed to properly defend freedom, and I wonder if the soldier under that flag has died for nothing.

Reconciliation comes when I realize they died for an ideal and a principle. Ironically, it’s not necessarily the country they were defending, but rather what it represents to the rest of the world. So I say to that child who stands graveside in the face of unimaginable sorrow and loss, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are in my thoughts and prayers and those of my family every day of our lives. Your dad or mom died defending the greatest gift ever bestowed upon human kind by a loving God, freedom. May that thought give you some measure of comfort all of your days…

Please take a knee today and think about where you live. Put aside your political persuasion for just a moment and remember that for all of its little idiosyncrasies, the United States of America is and remains the greatest arrangement for mankind under God. You are limited only by what is truly in your heart. Do not begrudge your fellow citizens or take your freedom for granted and damn it, never forget those who go in your stead to defend it.

God bless the United States Military service people and their families on this Memorial Day, and every day!

Romney – Rubio 2012!!!

Chris Wallace is the consummate journalist and asks the hard questions. Rarely is he boxed in by one of his guests. That was not the case today on FOX News Sunday when the straight forward Wallace hosted Marco Rubio (R) Florida on his program. To his credit Wallace did not mince words as the competition often does so they may elicit a particular ideological slant, but rather he sparred with Rubio on everything from gay rights to the Vice Presidential rumor mill, and the results left me little if any doubt about the answer to the VP question.

Rubio is an engaging and articulate family man and politician. He is bright beyond his years and frankly sounded more like a VP than the VP himself. He has wowed all corners of the Washington talk circuit and done his homework on foreign policy, while continuing to engage the Senate on matters concerning his constituency. He is not afraid to drive a reporter’s line of questioning and turn it in the direction “he” feels it should go, but does so with the respect and politeness of a man who has obviously been properly raised. I was impressed with his candor and grasp of the issues, particularly when Wallace pressed him on the question of the “Hispanic vote”, and whether or not Romney can win without improving his current standing in that demographic. Rubio explained that to perceive or assume the “Hispanic vote” is centralized in some way, or predisposed to a particular “carrot” or message, would be a mistake on the part of any party. He went on to remind Wallace of the diversity within that vote and how Romney has only just begun to make his case.

At the end of the interview Rubio explained, in the most impressive and understandable way I have heard yet, the case for school and service visa’s for young people who are in this country illegally through no fault of their own. He emphasized that the incomplete legislation he is considering would not be amnesty, but rather would require those same young people in college or the Armed Services, to eventually take the path to citizenship as currently outlined by federal law without exception. He made his case with the passion of a true and focused representative of the American people, not someone pandering with the intent to divide, (like maybe the POTUS?)

I’ve been considering the many VP choices Mitt Romney has for some time now, and have  arrived at the following conclusion. While anyone would be an improvement over the current vernacularly challenged Joe Biden, Marco Rubio would not only be a fine choice for VP, but an extraordinary one at that. (Romney – Rubio 2012)

“Gitmo” Shenanigans…

As I watch and listen to the courtroom shenanigans coming out of Gitmo, my heart is filled with sadness for the families of those lost on 9/11. I think of the anguish they must be feeling all these years later. Not only have they had to endure delay after delay while Eric Holder argued for the “rights” of the terrorists, they must  now sit and peer at monitors as these murdering bastards mock the military proceedings, and their lawyer argues for the right to wear “appropriate” clothing out of respect for the religious beliefs of the enemy combatants. What is happening over on that Godforsaken little Communist island?

“Judge Fred (Patriot64)” would offer the following as a solution:

1. Jurists – Please submit your briefs by the first of the month.

2. Miss Bormann, you will wear clothing appropriate for a military tribunal without deviation, end of discussion.

3. Both sides will have 1 – day long evidentiary session to present their case.

4. A verdict will follow within 24 hours, with sentencing and “punishment” to be carried out at sunrise the following morning. (No appeals), and relatives will be afforded the right to view the proceedings as well as take part if they are so inclined. (Please submit written requests for participation by tomorrow.)

5. I will make a formal statement apologizing to the victims’ families for the delay of justice, prior to the punishment phase.

6. And finally, Gitmo will be thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and serve as a staging area for the construction of a resort hotel and beach front, to be utilized by the “Wounded Warrior Foundation” as a treatment and rehabilitation center, free of charge, for all who have sacrificed on behalf of their country.

No joke people…
